Solemidayo:
Good morning my good people.. I applied online for Canada visit and am yet to get any response and it's over 100days waiting time.. so this morning I called the Vfs lagos office for advice.. I was told to mail accra.immigration@international.gc.ca... pls can with an experience in such case aprise me with a format in doing just this?.
I will be grateful if anyone can help..
Thanks and I will be waiting patiently.

At this point you can send an email to Accra. Quote your name, DOB passport number and DLI number. It makes it easier for them to track your application with your DLI number. Make sure you use the email you put on your application form.

for visa fee-http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=NG&lob=trv

You can put both of your account statements.
Saying you own a company is good a home tie but you have to all your registration documents and tax papers.

Tax papers how do I get those?
But if it's just a student visiting someone, are they not more sure to come back?

Since you have a company you should be able to know what a tax clearance is. You should get them from FIRS. If you are going as a student, please go to https://www.nairaland.com/3649314/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/286

Nah am not a student. It's for my friend who is an apprentice and just recently opened his company.

I will rephrase the other question. Being an apprentice, is it not more satisfying as a hometie just like a student in Nigeria going for a visit in Canada?
He opened a shop recently for electrical jobs, not a big company, and am sure he hasnt paid for any tax lately

babs4all:
Good day all, please I need an advice in filling my application form.
Am applying to attend a convention of my club in Toronto. The club is a non profit making organisation. Will this fall under Tourism or Business?

Hi babs4all, actually it matters not. A category V visa is issued to cover both business and tourism just like the US B1B2 visa. Both activities are covered under this visa. Please be careful and make your reasons for visit broad. Even if you're visiting for this convention, who says you wouldn't like to look around. You have to bear in mind that if this convention is not directly in line with your career and/or education, this application may be refused. You have to make a VO understand how important this attendance is and why you can't let if pass by. Eveidence of earlier attendances can help you do this. In my understanding, and to answer your question directly, you are seeking a business visa but again, it matters not. Best of luck

Hi folks, have an aunt planning to visit some friends in Canada and asking me lots of questions. Since I don't have the answers maybe someone here can help. First, she's been denied visa to Ireland recently, will that affect this application? And what should she particularly keep in mind. Thanks.

Hi illusory, your aunts case isn't a new one. Being refused a visa is not a bad thing, being denied entry into a country at POE is what causes problems. In my understanding, a VO will respect another VOs decision but not necessarily agree with it especially if new convincing documents are provided. Your aunt should keep her responses honest and agree with her refusals. My advise is to always attach the refusal letter but make sure reasons for refusal mention in it have been addressed and also explained in details in your SOP else the outcome might be the same. Her reason for visiting must also make sense else it might be perceived as desperate. Tell her to take her time and make one step at a time. Its easy. Best of luck

Please what is the turn around time when your visa is approved.

My dad applied online, got a notice to submith is passport to the vfs... how long will it take for them to return his passport.

Hi madcow, if you submit this passport at the lagos vfs, typically you can pick it up on the 3rd business day. Its quick. Best of luck

Hi sarang, I see you are taking time with this application. It is wise.
Home tie is a combination of different factors. First be honest about his circumstances. Only then can you vet the application yourself unbiased. To answer your question, it actually depends. If he owns his own company, and have all documents to show for it and money inflow and outflow, a VO will be impressed especially if he has people employed. If he is an apprentice, he can easily decide to not come back unless this apprenticeship has significant values to him. If it is in line with his company, then it makes sense. If it is paying him big Money or the apprenticeship document agreement has significant prospects to his career to a VO, he is in luck. I cannot judge this because only you and your friend know his story.
For the account, you can use both if you want, you can never have excess meaningful documents. However, a checkings account takes priority here as a savings means next to nothing abroad. Infact, at TD, they wouldn't open a savings account for me unless I opened a checkings account which has an annoying minimum balance. checkings also helps a VO assess your credit worthiness. You can plan and set aside some money in your savings and mention in your letter of support that this specific amount set aside in your savings on a said date is for this sponsorship. A VO likes an applicant that plans well. Best of luck

Hi sarang, nobody here except a trained VO can categorically tell you what ties are enough or not. ties evaluation is a holistic approach and an applicant can always look at his situation and make a good guess if it's convincing. He can be an apprentice and some other factors can make him qualified in a VOs eyes. Example, if he has been a traveler, have social and family responsibilities, married, have children, make a lot of money etc, his chances may be improved. But don't be deceived, money is the least of the problems here. Full engagement to Nigeria is what he need to express in every way. In my opinion, if he has finished his apprenticeship and opened a company in line with that, that is a good thing and should impress a VO. Best of luck

I am going to be honest. He just finished his apprenticeship and opened a little business. We want to get a business registration to show this and thats all I can we can think of. Is there anything else we can add as he hasn't paid any tax yet or employed anyone.

Also in the application form, they asked for ten year working experience, what should we write for someone who is has not been working for ten years?

Thank you guys for all your help I appreciate

Hello All,

I plan to have my baby in US, then fly to Canada a few weeks after having my baby and finally return to Nigeria from Canada.

My question is, with a valid Canada visitor Visa this multi city itinenary shouldn't be a problem at either POE right?

It shouldn't be an issue as long your entry and exits are clearly stated in your tickets.

Hi everyone,

I am new here and have read quite well on the thread. I have some questions which I have tried to find possible answers to through the thread but want to be 100% sure to avoid waste of money, energy and time for a study permit when I get an admission. I'll be very glad if the gurus in the house help me.
1. I had a my Bsc in Biochemistry in naija and did Msc in Pharmaceutical Science in the uk. I applied for a PhD in Biochemistry in University of Victoria after talking to potential supervisors. They actually didn't reply and as a result I didn't get admission for Sept, 2017. After writing many supervisors and many of them said they were fixed up. I was discouraged and decided to do another Msc. This time in a course that requires no supervisor. Currently waiting for an admission from the University of Manitoba, Department of Disability Studies. I want to know if there would not be an issue about me doing a second Msc and having the intentions of going for a PhD after completion.

2. When I was in the uk, I got married and had a child there and came back with my baby before my visa expired in June 2016. My husband was also a student, Nigerian, he got to the uk 2014 a year before I got there. His school had an issue and their licence was revoked. He didn't get a refund from the school but was asked to find another school and pay another tuition fee which he couldn't afford and uk home office asked him to leave after 60days in 2015. In the long run, he overstayed but left after we had the baby in May 2016. I had my graduation this year in the uk, my baby and I attended while my husband was in Nigeria. Is there any column that asks about overstaying in any country for Canada visitor visa?

3. I have a little nephew of 8 from my late sister. I want to adopt him as I'm presently responsible for him. He lives with my husband and I. His father absconded and his family hardly come to see the boy. The adoption process is quite tedious and someone suggested I claim him as my child since we have the same surname (still using my father's surname). His birth certificate can't be found, so I'm in the process of getting another one at the local government. Is that advisable?

4. We intended to apply as a family when I get my admission because I read from the Canadian immigration website that it is possible like the uk tier 4 family visa. But after reading from the posts here I found out that we might be rejected. Can he apply for a visitor visa before my study permit application and I'll apply with the kids?

5. My husband has a registered company, has a job and presently has over #2million in his personal account. A newly built house. Has traveled to South Africa and Uk. Had been denied visa to the US before going to the Uk. Has an aged mum. He wants to go for vacation, does he need an invitation or he can go ahead with it? What are his chances?

6. My maternity leave ended last Dec., from uk. I have a letter to that effect. Funny enough, my visa had expired, I left but was still on leave. I am presently self employed. Make dresses but not registered. Small scale. How do I show family ties if I'm to apply with my two kids? Can I use my husband, if he applies and get a visa?

7. Can I have two sponsors for my study permit, my father and a family friend? Will my husband need to sponsor the kids?

Please I know questions are many and lengthy but if the gurus can spare me time to answer, I'll forever be glad. Thank you everyone.

Wow. I don't understand this oo. On CIC website, a host doesn't have to provide income and assets documents to support ones application but an invitation letter with specific content and PR card or green card. So where from this reason for denial?

@MICHELLE001...
Sorry about the outcome of your TRV. i can now say that from several views and comments VISA is always refused based on an error or omission during the application.
I think personally that once you include an invite, then you must meet all criteria stated in their CHECKLIST.
Well done.....[/quote]

Hello house, please my younger brother is claiming that an agent has offered to pay for his ticket, get him a job in Canada but he will be paying back the money once he gets in there. Now he has been asked to provide an account with4M balance, payslips for 6months, letter of invitation and one other thing. He is very desperate to leave the country but my point has always been be legal if you want to leave. Now I'm suspecting the agent might be up to something... slavery or courier if you get what I mean. Please are there such sincere agencies? Advice us please.
