calberian:You cannot boycott tax payment. You would be guilty of a crime and lose the right to agitate The real problem is that the Nigerians who are truly patriotic are less than 5% Most people agitating are after what they can get or just unhappy because people in their circle are not favoured or out of power It is not difficult for Nigerian youths to mobilise to confront the politicians But do you see Nigerian youths supporting such a movement initiated by people from other tribes when their people are in power? |

BetaThings:I agree totally with you but my question is why now? we have known all these during tbe corruption stance we expected the fight to have began along time ago and given the history of sectional corruption fights I don't see this govt achieving much. am with you on your quest to see that credible people are elected into govt by next election. |

Nigerian governors are the worst enemies that nigerians have. They have looted their states treasury dry and made juicy pension packages for themselves when they leave office. Nigeria would have been like dubai or europe if no governor had stolen the monies they get every month. Still yet the improvised youth keep hailing them baba o baba o while they walou in poverty, insecurity, and joblessness. What a life! |

Op, we all should know that our senators are Pen Robbers who rob the nation with their pen. That was why Akpabio and his likes enacted a law that they must be collecting salaries after serving as a governor till death while still collecting their salaries as a serving senator. These guys are just robbers. |

SERAP is on course and should explore all legitimate means to stop this abuse of public trust. |

BetaThings:There is a problem. A viable solution is required. Ultimately, tax boycott is not feasible. When you say the youths should confront politicians, what medium/mode of confrontation do you suggest? I don't see youths supporting the said movement. Do you think its possible that this is so because the movement doesn't exist or it's largely unknown? Personally, I don't know of this movement myself. My point is this: instead of elaborating on the problems, we should generate more solutions whether feasible or not. We'll vet them till we develop and execute the best solutions. |

nkemjacob2:Yes, you should be SAFE for writing an ordinary petition and getting many other people to sign it. You can always find out the office and contact details of your senator and representative to drop your petition with the appropriate AUTHORITIES. |

This is institutionalised corruption. One of the many such in Nigeria. Security vote is another. |
