Nnamdi Kanu's Re-arrest: FG Engaging In Double Standard – Afenifere by Tofax: 7:16am On Aug 28, 2017
The Pan -Yoruba sociology-cultural group , Afenifere on Sunday accused the Federal Government of not being fair in its handling of the Kanu issue , noting that such was not good for the country .

The group ’s publicity secretary , Yinka Odumakin , said Kanu ’s re -arrest would overheat the polity , stressing that the government should rather engage in dialogue with IPOB members instead of going after them .

He noted that the government failed to arrest the Arewa youths, who issued a quit notice to the Igbo, but wanted to re - arrest Kanu , describing such as double standard.

Odumakin said , “The idea of re -arresting Kanu will overheat the polity , more so when youths in the north that issued a notice to quit were not arrested . Even after the Kaduna State Governor and the Vice President ordered their arrest , the police did nothing .

“The Minister of Internal Affairs said the youths were not arrested because they claimed they were misquoted , but a few days ago , the youths in the presence of some governors withdrew the order. ”
Afenifere admonished the FG to evenly apply the law equally in all situations, regardless of the status or origins of those involved .

The group said , “The government is giving the impression that what is red line for someone from a particular region is green line for someone in another part of the country ; I think it is better the government engaged to bring down the tension rather than strong - arm tactics that would overheat the polity .”

“There is a clear double standard and that is not good for inclusiveness . What the government should do is ensure even application of the law and engage more youths more rather indulge in sabre-rattling ,” Afenifere said .

Afenifere has always been a group that stands for Justice until that Chicago drug baron came to divide it because of selfish reasons.

Double standards is the hallmark of everthing Buhari.

From Arewa youth, to Fulani herdsmen, to attack on boko haram being attack on the north, to seeing nothing wrong with hate speech (dog and baboon stuff), to 97% vs 5%...

AYF youth leader should be arrested and charged to court while Kanu also should be sent back to Kuje prison to meet his compatriots that he abandoned in prison.

Afenifere is very right, this is pure double or even triple standards. FG is supposed to have locked up all Afenifere leaders a long time ago for collecting millions of naira from Goatluck Jonaddaft to help him rig the 2015 presidential election. You will all recall that even Olu Falae of the the leaders of Afenifere admitted collecting about 100 million naira from ATM-Dasuki Sambo / Nemadi Ester in order to work for Goatluck during the 2015 election.

These idiots called Afenifere did not shout nor scream marginalization and restructuring when Goatluck was looting and sharing money with them. After Goatluck lost election and also errecction, they now remember marginalization and restructuring. Old foolish rags. Tinubu the Lagos thief taught all the old fools a bitter lesson, Tinubu defeated them home and away and rendered them irrelevant and turned them to begers begging Goatluck Jonaddaft for contracts and money.

If Afenifere likes, they can change their tribe to Ibo, it is allowed, I even suspect them to be Ibos because only Ibos can sell their parents for money the same way the Afenifere rags are doing. The next time that DSS comes for Nnamdi Cownu, let Afenifere rags go and stop DSS, they will all be given mass burial which will save their families money.

Groups that came out to disagree with FG over KANU rearrest - Ohanaeze,Ijaw Youth Council,Afenifere etc

This shows that these groups are secretly happy with what KANU is doing. Tho they have never given him open support

Nnamdi Kanu has gone from a nonentity to the focal point of Nigeria political discourse.
Even his haters and opponents have no choice than to talk about him.

No force can stop an idea whose time has come.

Afenifebi is a useless group that has never represented the Yoruba interest well.

Same Afenifebi that's accusing the FG of double standards is yet to expel Olu Falae from its organization for sharing in the Dasuki loots.

I've not seen any forum where Afenifebi condemned NK for telling fellow Igbos not to attend any Yoruba headed church.

Nnamdi Kanu flagrantly flouted courts order and he must be severely punished for it.

Afenifere is still pained by the election loss of 2015 and the political relevance of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

They can support the Igbo cause but couldnt convene massive protests for the reopening of LAUTECH.

Nonsense.

In as much as I detest Kanu with every fibre of my being, re-arresting him is the dumbest thing to do or even think of. Federal Govt does not need to stoop to Kanu's shallow level by threatening with arrest. Besides, the guy has not been violent in anyway. Verbal assaults, yes, but then so have the two morons, Fayose and Fani Kayode.
