Joebie:It's not about pages devoted, it is about if we want to discuss about it or not and right now we do. It's a civil exchange no cause for alarm. |

kennysville:I did not understand what you are writing. Enyeama's problem was not Ikeme but Oliseh stripping him off his captain band. It was disrespectful, out of line and worse of all at a time when a National hero just laid his mother to Rest. There is no defending this. Oliseh was wrong. |

kennysville:Super Eagles number one goalkeeper and captain Vincent Enyeama has shunned the Nigeria Football Federation's summon to appear before the disciplinary committee. The 32-year-old tore up a query letter from the NFF which was related to his uncomplimentary statement about the security of Kaduna where the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Chad was played. Though the Lille of France goalkeeper has a written an apology letter to the NFF, he was summoned before the disciplinary committee on Tuesday, June 23, or risk being sanctioned. Enyeama could face a lengthy ban after he refused to attend the hearing on Tuesday. His national team coach, Stephen Keshi however attended but refused to comment on why his captain did not make it. "No I am not aware. I only know about my own invitation," Keshi said told newsmen after his hearing. "You can ask the NFF officials they should be able to tell you." http://www.pulse.ng/sports/football/vincent-enyeama-super-eagles-captain-shuns-nff-id3900234.html The problem was on before Oliseh became coach. Oliseh came in and did the bidding of the NFF to punish Enyeama. Enyeama knows this and that is why he does not want to work with those who treated him badly. |

goldfish80:Disagree with Tuned Disu totally in this case. Saying Iheanacho was roaming does not work for me. Nacho made direct runs but we could not find him. Also saying the tactics was wrong against South Africa does not also work. Our tactics worked especially in the first half but out final balls failed. Our problem had to do with the personnel and with a better Passer in midfield, we would have torn the South Africans to shreds. Finally saying Iheanacho can not spearhead the attack does not work. He should give his reasons why. Attackers thrive on quality services and that is what failed us. Not spearhead attack. |

tbaba1234:“To beat those indomitable Lions, a very good top 9 will be a good option and not necessarily to score goals but to torment the defence line and maybe to create chances for others,’’ Tunde Disu. That was what Kelechi did against Algeria. He tormented the defence line with speed and the coach of the Algerians confirmed it. |

Mickael2:Telling Iheanacho to do something was a wrong call too. The right call was to get him better service and we would have torn the South Africans apart. Iheanacho dropping deep when we were having no trouble building play would have been detrimental to our strategy. |

The answer's NO. Capital NO. And I did watch the match LIVE in full HD and on a 65 inch flat screen TV. Our attack was impotent because there was no creativity, no movement and no penetration in the midfield. Take it from someone who knows, no striker in the world would've performed wonders playing in that situation. O pari TheGoodJoe: |

Don't mind them, folks are just looking for an escape goat. Like they say, when you lost a match, the guy who didn't play in that game becomes the best player in the world. All of a sudden folks start mentioning names likes of Ighalo and Ideye as our saviors. C'mon! You guys can't be serious! O pari TheGoodJoe: |

Icon79:Of course, just like we made an escape goat out of a goalkeeper who conceeded 2 goals through no direct fault of his, but leave the striker who couldn't muster a shot on target. Nigerians can be very amusing. |

TheGoodJoe:Why dont you give a call to veterans like John Mastroudes, Disu even the SA coach, to name but a few and ask them if he was given a through ball or not. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 7:04pm On Jul 18, 2017 |
Actually, the goalkeeper has some blame on both goals (not all the blames but some of them) especially on the second goal. First he hesitated before coming out to challenge the SA player. And once you come out, as the last man in the defense, you should allow the player any free pass ... he should've fouled the player even if it means taking a red card (for denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity) for the team. The game was almost over, we can play with the 10 men for the rest of the game....just let SA take a free kick instead of scoring into an empty net. O pari goldfish80: |

TheGoodJoe:quite frankly, I dont expect you to understand what I wrote. Its all about deciding what ur position on the matter is. Bringing unrelated issue into the mix is something i want to comment on. Oliseh is nobody's stooge and hence did not carry out NFF's vendetta. Like i said earlier, watch the interviews on youtube then come outright and say Oliseh Lied on camera about the altercation. If i av the time, i will look for the links. But surely, its all on youtube. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:51pm On Jul 18, 2017 |
kennysville:It is not unrelated. This was something followed from the onset. Enyeama has categorically stated he has a problem with the NFF. Oliseh was not the right candidate. It was a joke appointment. So he could do their bidding. With time he fell off with them. You are talking Ikeme. That is what I do not get when it is clear the NFF wanted Enyeama out. It is not coach fall out. Enyeama did not fall out with Oliseh before he unfairly stripped Enyeama off his captain bad. Worst of all, during a trying and painful time. Worst timing ever. |

Icon79:You want to chop off Akpeyi's head for failing to make a clearance just few centimeters from half way line. If Vincente Enyeama or Kal Ikeme was in goal, can you bet your house that they would have been able to make such clearance at the half way line? Oh you want to punish him for not diving in to make a rugby tackle to stop the opponent ? Its just like wishing for defenders to break Lionel Messi's leg to stop him from scoring. Do you know what fair play means? I agree Akpeyi's ball handling fell short. I saw him drop a couple of balls carelessly, but to blame him for those goals is tantamount to giving a dog a bad name just to hang it. |

goldfish80:Icon79 is right in this instance. It would have made more sense for Akpeyi to foul the South African and collect the red card to keep us in the game than allow him run free to get the knockout goal. This is plain football sense, not chopping head off. |

Leicester City target Kelechi Iheanacho absent as Manchester City begin pre-season tour By JBlackwell Leicester Mercury City have agreed a £25m fee for the Nigerian striker but a legal dispute between his current and former agents over image rights has proven a considerable delay. However, Manchester City flew out to Houston yesterday morning to begin their pre-season tour of the States, with no sign of Iheanacho. The 20-year-old was expected to be part of the travelling party but was not spotted at Manchester Airport on Monday morning as Pep Guardiola's men boarded a flight to the US and did not appear to be present at their training session in Texas on Tuesday. Iheanacho was one of seven Manchester City players noted as absent by the Manchester Evening News, but while they have since said the likes of Yaya Toure and Leroy Sane will be making their own way to America, there has been no updates on Iheanacho. The MEN said the Nigerian's absence 'is no great surprise' with 'the striker expected to leave this summer'. However, other players expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this window, including Samir Nasri, Jason Denayer and Eliaquim Mangala, are in the US with the rest of the squad. TheGoodJoe:He did his best. If you rewatch that incident, you will find out that the South African guy was extremely fast,a substitute with fresh pair of legs. Akpeyi actually tried to foul him but he was just too fast. As a matter of fact, Akepyi or no Akpeyi, 98% of goalkeepers in the world wouldn't stand any chance whatsoever in catching South African guy in such senerio.. What peplexis me is why Nigerians want to kill Akpeyi because he didn't go all the way to hack down the South African. Since I started following football, this will be the first time I have witnessed a player getting so much stick for not hacking someone down illegally. |

BascoVanVeli:watch the game again, Moses was shielding the ball from 2 SA defenders I think, then tapped the ball to Nacho who tapped it to Etebo. Passing to a target man is easier than trying to play defence splitting passes obviously, it wouldn't have been difficult for them to do |

Mickael2:Moses shield 2 players and Nacho shield no one only tapped the ball to Etebo, guy fear god. Bros which is more efficient, lobbing the ball to a target man or playing a defence splitting pass |

goldfish80:No one wants to kill Akpeyi. It was you who tried to make it look as if fouling the South African was wrong. That was the right option. You can say he tried but do not make it look like if Akpeyi was not to take down the man. From my view the keeper did not do enough. |

zicky:I am damn sure you only watched highlights of that game so I will not reply your first point which is laughable at best. Your second point is just crazy, of course playing a long ball to a target man is way easier than playing a defence splitting pass, your point is? |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by goldfish80(m): 8:36am On Jul 19, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:Dont pretend like you dont know Akpeyi is being made the fall guy from that game.Someone who didn't watch the game will erroneously think he scored own goals. I'm just saying for the record, Akpeyi was not the reason we lost, he didnt score an own goal, the South Africans didn't score through his legs, the ball didnt slip through his fingers and into the net. His only sin was that he didnt hack down a player running at full speed and collect a red card, while we were already a goal down with 3 minutes left on the clock (we have exhausted our substitutions at this point). Trying to leave out Ndidi, kelechi,Iwobi,Awaziem,Ekong,Shehu,Echejile,Etebo and to an extent Onazi of any blame and aim digs at Akpeyi, shows weakness and insincerity. I know some spread sheet fans will come for my head for saying this, but I dont mind. I will always blow my whistle. |
