I'm very disappointed when one of my friends (Name withheld) told me he had just got his Appointment Letter with Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

I almost not agreed with him until he sent me the picture of the Letter. I'm willing to share the printed Appointment Letter here, only that would become an insult to our teeming Son(s) of nobody who had recently received an Aptitude test invitation from DPR.

As long as I can remember, that was the same thing that had happened with the recent concluded FIRS recruitment, NIS Recruitment. Son(s) and Daughter(s) from poor origins had been busy applying for the job online while their Son(s) and Daughter(s) had been given the printed Appointment Letter already.

You see, this is the situation in my beloved Country Nigeria. Corruption and Nepotism has embedded, transversed the length and breadth of our Dear Nation. It has engulfed it totally to make us all the victims. Well! I do not blame the Country's Pacesetters only, I would rather blame the populace who voted and allowed these corrupt, unjust individuals to rule, developed and permitted a System like this to exist. An unjust, non Meritocracy System.

As a child of Nobody in this Country you can only dream to have NPower jobs when their Son(s) and Daughter(s) can get job offers from fine and lucrative Government Agencies like DPR, Navy and NIS while from the comfort of their bed.

So Pathetic!!!
Pls tell them, they are here busy studying so called past questions. I think they are new to this type of government recruitment excersice but by the time they tried ten times they will come to understand. The truth of the matter is that the slots are currently been shared at the top while you guys are here filling yourself with high spirit and hope that will only waste your time. We Nigerians always have high spirit when it comes to seeking lucrative job.

Then it must have been changed recently. Cos it was formerly Pride of the Sahel.

I wanted to go for Bauchi, I know that is where your mind is but Bauchi is not Pearl of Sahel rather Pearl of Tourism. So there was an error in that question bro.

The only thing allowed into the exam centre is ur slip, nothing else. Not even your wallet. In PH centres, there is a shop outside where you can keep your belongings for a token, 50 or 100 bucks.
To be safe, keep every important stuff a home to avoid stories that touch.
What about one's ID, especially int'l passport?

Hi all,

I received this text 20/07/2017 11:23 pm

Dear ######, This is to notify you of a change to your Examination date and Batch number. Please login to http://recruitment.dpr.gov.ng using your registration details and print out your confirmation slip. Please note, this is important.

My new date is 24th July, the old date was 27th July.

Please make sure to login and check. Just in case.

I guess someone thought, "I think the challenges aren't enough for these applicants. Let us add Date-Change, that'll make things interesting!".

Don't be discouraged. In the future, it will better to tell yourself "Well, i tried..." than "I should have tried..."

Note that I said tell yourself not tell people. Fundamentally, this decision is about you.

Good luck

Oya! Kingsley, here is another simple one.

Q12. In an aptitude test conducted, four centres were provided, the candidates would sit for the test in six batches. Each candidate would have to under go biometric capture, which would last for two minutes. At each centre three biometric capture machines were provided. After each batch, 30mins were allocated for the biometrics of next batch.
How many candidates were invited for the test, if the test would run concurrently for 6 days?

the answer is 3 years : let the woman. Age at present be x years , now her age 8 years ago is x-8:
x=9/7(x-cool.........equation one ,let her daughter's age be y =1/6(x).....equation two
From equation one, 7x=9(x-cool.....7x=9x-72...2x=72
..x=72/2=36, the daugher's age at present is y= 36/6=6 years , her daughter's 3 years ago is y- 3= 6-3=3yrs//

1- In 1938, Lee Byung-Chull launched Samsung in South Korea as a grocery shop.

2- In 1940, due to tight competition in the grocery segment, Samsung abandoned grocery for producing and selling of noddles.

3- In 1950, Samsung abandoned production of noddles for producing of sugar.

4- In 1954, Samsung left sugar and started a woolen mill in Korea.

5- In 1956, Samsung abandoned woolen mill and started selling Insurance and securities.

6- In 1960, Samsung left selling of insurance and securities for production of television - the black and white television. Not color television.

7- In 1980, Samsung switched to telecoms, producing telephone switch boards.

8- In 1987, Lee the founder and owner of Samsung died. The company now broke into four independent companies- department stores, chemicals & logistics, paper/telecom and electronics.

9- Same year, Samsung decided to focus on international investing, investing in plants & semi conductor facilities around the world.

10- In 1990, Samsung delved into real estate abandoning international investing in semi conductors. Samsung built the worlds tallest buildings: Petronas Towers Malaysia, Taipei 101 in Taiwan

11- In 1993, there was heavy recession and Asian markets went belly up, Lee's son who had succeeded him as the CEO of Samsung began downsizing, selling subsidiaries and merged the rest.

12- With the merging of the electronics, engineering and chemicals division, Samsung became the worlds largest producer of memory chips.

13- In 1995, Samsung switched to liquid-crystal displays and over the next 10 years became the worlds largest manufacturer of flat screen television.

14- In 2010, with liquid crystal displays becoming competitive, Samsung launches a 10 year growth strategy, with smart phones being a key focus.

15- In 2016, Samsung is worlds largest mobile and smart phone maker, outselling iPhone two to one.

Samsung sales today is over $250 billion and produces a fifth of South Korea's total exports.

Don't be afraid of change. If you don't change, you become insignificant. Don't be afraid of delving into new waters. Don't get stuck doing same thing over and over again, it's boring. The life is in the risk. The life is in the new!!!! If your idea isn't working or you are stagnant, don't stick to the Glorious' past, take the risk and move on. It's far better than being stagnant.

Lina's daughter's present age = Z = 1/6X
Let the Lina's present age b Xyrs
Let her age 8yrs ago be Yrs

Y = X - 8
But X = 9/7Y
X = 9/7 × (X - 8 )
7X = 9X - 72
X = 36

Z = 1/6 × 36
Z = 6

The daughter's age 3yrs ago = 6 - 3 = 3 years

Since we are expected to use our http://recruitment.dpr.gov.ng/login password for the test, I suggest you always type in the password when accessing dpr portal, as opposed to using your browser's save password feature or Remember me option on the login page.

You have a test to focus on, "my password is not working" will be an unwelcome distraction.

Bros don't be deceived. This doesn't stop the recruitment, my conclusion overtime is that they might have allotted more than 50% of the available slot to themselves but some people will still get it on merit. Even the NIS story don't we still have people that got it without knowing anyone, I can give examples to further buttress my point but let's leave it at this.
