naptu2: Sunny had a special place in my heart at this time. I was very ill c1984 and there was a radio beside my bed. They kept playing Gbeyo Gbeyo over and over and that song practically brought me back to life. Listening to that song in the place between sleep and wake is simply magical (or maybe it was just the drugs. Who knows?)

To be honest, I listened to Manu Dibango's 'Ma ko makoss', and although it's really nice, I prefer MJ's version. It's more upbeat.

It is so irksome that foreign artists keep stealing beats from Africans.

Come to think of it, I never knew Tee Mac was such a huge artist in his day. Wow! 'Fly Robin, Fly', huh? Triple wow

Whether anyone agrees with me or not, the collaborations of yesteryears had better entertainment value and quality than these ones done by our present crop of Nigerian artists.

I will make an exception for D'banj and Snoop Dogg. Their collabo is one that I admire. Unfortunately, it seems like Kanye West and his satanism swallowed up D'banj's star because when he joined them, everything went downhill for him.

Wao you got real taste in music for mentioning an icon in beautiful music and that is Orlando Julius however you spoil the whole thing mentioning D'banj vs Snoop Haba that's a wrong exception on your path. It is a sin to mention crappy and classless songs of D'banj and his group in the same sentence when mentioning Orlando Julius please.

See my sister I always respect those that witnessed the era of good music in the 80s but when I see the same people mentioning dbanj and beautiful music I see it as insult to good music. Trust me, you can't be a fan of good music in the 80s and you are mentioning crappy songs of dbanj in the same sentence naaahhhh. Dbanj sings thrash.
