So Sad, from what I can see here one of these happened
(I) The kidnappers shot him
This would be quite improbable during a hot chase with exchange of gunfire.
(II) He died in the crossfire, or got injured in the crossfire and was left to die or killed by the police to cover up for their grave error.
(III) He escaped unhurt and was killed by the police.
This is highly improbable except the info the police received was either faulty or misinterpreted as a case of armed robbery.

All in all rip to the dead, I hope justice is served.

Nigerian police can lie. the ugbo guy first denied that the police didnt kill him then later confessed that they killed an armed robber not knowing he was the victim.

“It was not the Police or SARS who killed him, may be the suspects might have killed him before the police got there"

"Their own happiness was that they have killed an armed robber not knowing that it was the victim.”

Who come kill am? bastards

…Petitions Assistant Inspector General of Police for Justice

On why the Police could not contact members of Emmanuel Nkim’s family or even call back after seeing many missed calls of both the wife and other family members and despite the fact that his phones were with them, Ugbo said the Police initially believed strongly that the man was an armed robber.

She argued: “You know how we treat armed robbers when they are dead. We just take them to the mortuary and after several investigations, we take them to bury, we don’t care to know about family because he is regarded as a criminal.”

This gave me serious headache for real. Am sure they will deny this.

But, did the police really said they did not pick the calls because they dont care once they the police conclude you are an armed robber.. shocked shocked shocked

That is their modus operandi:they kill innocent people, plant weapons and tag them armed robbers to avoid the truth being known.
Kidnap victims families wud pay ransom to have their relations rescued and the police will claim they were rescued by them.
This was one establishment we all thought the cattle rearer wud reform as he hopefully reformed the entire Nigerian society.
Sadly it's been found the man just wanted power with no intellect whatsoever on what to do or did he av any plan on how to go about reforming Nigeria.
That the police has not improved one bit from their extrajudicial killings, corruption and crude ways of carrying out its duties epitomizes how this govt has failed woefully.

Nigerian police are ill-trained . They dont know jack about Rules of Engagement.
Just try and ask a Nigerian police whats his view on Rules of Engagement and hear what he will say. They need to really train them on stimulation exercises on Bank robbery and kidnapping.
I saw the same thing in the Imo Bank robbery. By shooting at armed robbers first you are endangering the lives of bystanders and even yourself

Truth is even if the man was an armed robber, rules of engagement should have been. The modus operandi makes it look like extra judicial killing.

Imagine how the man became a cadaver exposes their nonchalance at the dead person.

To think, I'm FTC on this kind of topic baffles me...

I dedicate this FTC to everyone affected by yesterday's flood... May God grant you the wisdom and energy to pull through(flood is bad, just like fire).

Back to topic. I really don't know who to blame here, the police or the cyclist or even the victim

Can't blame the police, because like they said they got the info that it was an armed robbery scenario and not kidnapping

Won't blame the cyclist, he reported what he thought he saw.

Won't blame the victim, he must have been beaten to a pulp and point of death, to not be able to scream and shout that he was a kidnap victim.

All in all, who don die don die.. May God grant the dead, eternal rest.

The team that went for the operation were very unprofessional and must be brought to book

I feel so too, but from their argument which I feel is still unprofessional, they shouldn't shoot at an unarmed person, be it a criminal or a victim. Once unarmed, you can arrest and take for questioning.

But out police force is so used to wasting armed robbers on sight, other than take them in to be charged. They feel no family member wants to associate with an armed robber or assassin or kidnapper.

God help us

Thunder fire that ppro.....c d garbage shes spittin....nonsense

I tire for the matter.
The PPRO sounds very callous, imagine saying once they kill an armed robber they don't bother to know about his family. Now they have shot dead an innocent person and still treated his corpse with disdain because of their wrong approach in dealing with the public. Our Police Force need total overhauling and employment of suitable personnel.
