Forty-three Boko Haram insurgents who recently surrendered to troops of Operation Lafiya Dole of the Nigerian army, were on Saturday airlifted to join other surrendered insurgents in Gombe where they are to immediately commence a de-radicalization and rehabilitation programme under the auspices of Operation Safe Corridor.

Speaking while handing over the surrendered insurgents to Operation Safe Corridor, the Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru gave an assurance that the penitent insurgents will be given a new lease of life as they commence their journey back into the civil society through the de-radicalization and rehabilitation processes. He urged them further to embrace and undertake the programme whole heartedly to enable them to benefit and positively reorient their views about life and the society in general.

It will be recalled that over 70 Boko Haram insurgents had earlier in this month, surrendered to troops of Operation Lafiya Dole in the North East, thus, taking advantage of the window of grace provided by the Federal Government for insurgents who are willing to give up terrorism and turn a new leaf to surrender to any military location closest to them.

General Attahiru called on all other insurgents to abandon the futile struggle and reject the hypocrisy of the Boko Haram leadership who live in affluence, while their foot soldiers die in hunger.

SHM for this government and Nigeria

After killing thousands of people, broke so many homes, made women widows, children orphans, and putting Nigeria on world terrorism map,you are treating them like VIPs.This is sending the wrong signals to law abiding citizens, unemployed youths and poor people that crime pays.

De-radicalize Boko Haram terrorists? For your information,Boko Haram is world's most deadly terrorist group.Terrorism is an ideological war and its members can not be de-radicalized.

Please send these virgin hunters to their brides and leave de-radicalization for God or satan.

That the best way to get recognized is to commit big crime.I know that the government is still detaining el-zarkizaky(spelling?) is because him and his members have been relatively peaceful, once they pick arms, our myopic leaders will start begging them for anmesty.

Deradicalized with which doctrine? Fulani herdsmen should also surrender and be deradicalized. All we need is peace - live and let's live.

Keep hiding my post Mods
Is it only me, but it appears Boko Haram has been surrendering in droves of late with the Sunni Muslim Nigerian Govt and security forces opening up what they want us to believe as "de-radicalization" camps for the surrendered terrorists.

Now, this shouldn't be an issue but rather ought to be celebrated as a success on the war on terror but when you consider the official govt stance of placing Boko Haram terrorists in "de-radicalization" camps without any word of prosecuting them in the near future in court for the criminal and treasonable activities they have raked up these past 9yrs then we ought to be wary.

We should also factor the impending ethno-religious riots that are currently brewing slowly on low burn stemming from the Northern Youth Forum's ultimatum of Igbos residing in the north, the sacking of Fulanis in Taraba, the north's insistence on maintaining their leprous vice grip on power in the fallout of Buhari being declared dead and the Biafran agitation to secede from Nigeria.

I tend to read in between the lines all times and it has proven to be my best form of decoding future events.

This instinctive rationalization of events has served me well in being able to predict almost precisely northern foolishness and it will not stop now.

It is my strong belief that the sponsors of Boko Haram are now deploying their foot soldiers further south from their Sambisa Emirate to the new threat simmering further south.

The Jihad just got a boost and all those bullsh1t deradicalization camps are nothing but debriefing and redeployment camps which the northern Muslim dominated security forces will use to unleash their boko brethren allover the polity.

Without Christ? What do you mean? What does your version of 'Christ' have to do with this?

Religion is a problem, overtly religious people are an even bigger problem.
