Yes, God controls the sun whenever he chooses. But telling the sun to remain up during the day and night is epic!

Wait, do you know how big the sub is? Sir/Ma, if you stand beside the sun, no one will notice you because you will be much tinnier than a tiny dot.

And God held the sun and the earth the same position for almost 24 hours (a day according to the bible passage which I translate to 24hours)

It is this sun that dictates our time. But when when God needed to showup, he did in style by stopping time!!

Imagine you check the time and its 11pm (close to mid-night) and the sun is still shinning hot like its 2am noon. Lol. This was what God did in order to see Joshua through the battle.

Josh 10:13-14
13 The sun stood still and the moon stood motionless while the nation took vengeance on its enemies. The event is recorded in the Scroll of the Upright One. The sun stood motionless in the middle of the sky and did not set for about a full day. 14 There has not been a day like it before or since. The Lord obeyed a man, for the Lord fought for Israel! Josh 10:13-14

Sir/Ma, if God could make the sun to shine at night, then he can do absolutely anything. I mean anything!

Is your situation as big as the sun? No! Why are you worried about something not as big as the sun. If God can make the sun shine at night, he can shine his light on that grey area in your life that you thought was impossible.

God is still doing the impossible

First, let me encourage you to continue to approach faith from asking questions as you have just done.

Just continue to be as open minded as possible.

Now to your point sir, Night and day occurs, not because the earth revolves around the sun. We experience night and day because the earth spins on its axis.

The revolution of the earth round the sun is reason for another entity entirely.

Also, I'll like to point your attention to a part of that post which you quoted. The part where i mentioned that the sun and the earth were held in same position for the duration.... This means that the sun didn't move, neither did the earth rotate.

I hope I was able to attend comprehensively enough to your satisfaction sir.

The verses of the book of Joshua you quoted mentioned the sun being held "motionless". But since we agree that the occurence of Night and Day is due to the spinning of the Earth around its axis and not the sun moving around the earth, do we say that the claim of the verses are unscientific?
I am sure sir that you are aware of the cataclysmic effect that would follow if the Earth should suddenly stop spinning round its axis just to allow a part of it have 24-hour sunlight.
