They should quit blaming you and tell you what's wrong with your son. What of those that started feeding their babies pap from birth ni, the motherless nkọ have they all died? What nonsense!! That's how they'll be increasing someone BP unnecessarily .

Mummy please you're not a failure, don't allow anybody to tell you that. You're a great mom, super mom. Your son is healed, have faith dear.

E-hugs dear

@Gr8fulheart

Ur son's healing is perfected in Jesus name... Amen.

Since u said ur job is not the 'sitting in the office' kinda job, I think it gives u opportunities to go n check on him at the creche from time to time (unlike having to leave the office every now n then to dash off to the creche).

I doubt if any mama is happy dropping off baby at the creche but sometimes we just have to do what we have to do (that is of resignation isn't an option for us).

Be strong my dear.... God will see u thru.
I prayed concerning the creche while I was on leave and thankfully I got a good one.
I pray for my baby and anoint her every morning before I drop her off.
I talk to the proprietor and the nanny like they are family and so far we have had zero issues. It's not by my power, it's just the grace of God.

I pray it goes well and easy for u.

Please don't mind those doctors. Mixing breastmilk and formula didn't give your son pneumonia or respiratory issues.

How's he doing now?
I wish him speedy recovery

It is well with you ma'am

@Gr8fulHeart, so sorry about all you are going through. Your son is healed in Jesus name.

Why the blame? Was it not the same hospital you too him too and he was given mere routine drugs for cough and catarrh? Did they carry out test to ascertain the cause of the cough? You should also slam them for not carrying out test if that is.

Gr8fulheart, I was just about writing something funny over your vexation rant when I saw the real deal!

Don't feel bad, I coupled breastfeeding with formula from 41days of birth for Atinuke.
The stupid doctors should have made you know that pneumonia is really high right now!
It's everywhere!
It's nothing you did..... Or didn't do. It targets those with immature immune system or those that are so much exposed to cold things.

Don't breakdown now, don't.
Ask for more time off if you can to allow him heal completely or get someone to go with you to work so they stay somewhere while you work.
Or ask to work from home for now, maybe pop in the office twice a week. Ask.....

In the meantime, swaddle him up, wear him extra layers of clothes, make sure his extremities and chest, back and tummy are warm. Give him warm drinks only, let the AC rest.
Pele.

I wee pinch you o, someone is trying to be a big girl and you're trying to compare her style.
She'll get most of what she needs from her food.
You can give her cereals in between meals.
Like before breakfast, before dinner etc.

Pls don't mind our naija docs.u r a good mother doing a great job.
The weather is something else this days. I can't remember d last time I opened a window in my room talk more of a fan when dh complains I tell him heat rash is better than cold n cattarh.
There's this home remedy I used for ds. Its called onion poultice.
Cut up a bulb of onion and put in a pan add a little water and let it steam. Take d hot onion pieces and put in a small towel fold it up and check d temp of the towel. It should be hot but not scalding. Put hot towel on chest n back. As Ur massaging u shld hear a change in his breathing. U can keep reheating d towel for a day then u change
I discovered it on Google when ds took his first trip outside PH. The next morning my four month old was breathing heavy I felt like a failure cos he had never had a cold before. I found this home remedy and the congestion cleared quickly.

Let me also add this since prevention is better than cure.
I started bathing once a day depending on d weather.
Then when bathing him I close d bathroom window n door then steam up the bathroom before I remove his clothes
after bathing him I dress him up inside d bathroom diaper oiling d body everything before we come out infact we both come out sweating grin

Help! My baby is 14weeks and serious colic is dealing with her and she has a slightly big belly button? Could this be colic or side effect of big belly button?
If you look at her stomach you see it rising like a rodent is walking inside... doc said it's nothing but not all doc can be relied on

Don't stop her. Encourage her a lot. Give her milk after every adult meal and in between as well. You can put one or 2 spoons of cereal in the milk. My baby started adult food from 4 months because he wanted it. I usually give him as much as he wants and then he finishes off a hefty bottle of milk. I know people say his milk will reduce when he starts adult food but this has not been the case. His milk needs has increased. shocked

Please o
Today while cleaning my son's ear, I perceived an offensive odour coming from his right ear. The left ear didn't smell at all.
It smelt bad. Please does anyone know what could be the cause?

Stop the use of cotton bud in his inner ear. Soap and water can cause smell. If there is no pain, fever and swelling, then there is nothing to worry about.

Thank you so much for the trouble. I appreciate.

Dear mothers, I am a first time mom with a cute daughter of about 14 months. I will be needing to go back to work. Its inevitable at the moment. So I was hoping to get some suggestions and tips on handling this cos I am scared and worried to death, just the thought of her being out of my sight alone is scary.

I plan on enrolling her in a day care. Please kindly share what I should look out for, what I should expect and all and how she can stay safe and protected. Please any tip and suggestions will be highly welcomed. Thank youl

Welcome on board.
- Expect some separation anxiety in the first 2 weeks.
- visit the place and have a conversation with the proprietress.
- Confirm the child to teacher ratio.. anything more than 1:5 for toddlers is too much ie 1 minder should not have more than 5 toddlers to look after.
- Confirm there is a sleeping area
- Check for toilet system; this will tell you if potty training will be effective
- A general look at the environment will tell if it is child friendly
- Ask as many questions as possible; how they ensure she is safe and protected, ask everything!
- Ensure to have a separate bag for change of clothes (at least 2 pairs), diapers, wipes, cream powder and comb
- Please make simple hairstyles.. don't use beads pls! It is a safety hazard..
- Also ensure to spend time with her when you are back home each day. This gives children comfort
- Keep to a strict sleeping routine. It will help you have a confident and well rested child in the morning. My children must sleep by 9pm daily. After school, my son plays outdoor for a while then watches tv till 8pm. Once it's 8pm, no more tv. Takes his bath, eat a meal and prepare to sleep. Wakes up by 6am, brushes his teeth, takes his bath, gets dressed and eats breakfast before we set out.

For her lunch pack, try to put what she is comfortable eating at home. Don't try out new foods as her lunch pack meals. When my son started, I add a "proper" meal (rice, spaghetti, noodles, plantain, eggs etc)., a drink (water, ribena, caprisonne etc), a fruit (orange, banana, apples etc,), an extra meal (cereals, sandwich, biscuits) and a bottle of tea. I still continue this way and it has been working for me.

I hope this helps. You will surely be fine. smiley
