"Perhaps, IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has got the ace; little wonder his teeming supporters trust he will deliver Biafran state to them. This belief is also vented vis a rally by the chiefs and elders from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with full permission of the police recently…Read more:

Contrary to speculation, the Rivers State police Command gave a full approval before the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, visited Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and rallied his supporters on his ongoing tour of states supposed to fall within the Biafra.

Sources at the security apparatus disclosed that when the intelligence report on the visit was received, there was no opposition to disallowing it from holding.

The source said since there had not been any breakdown of law and order in all the places that the Bisfran leader had visited.

Also the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nnamdi Omoni, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), confirming this added that the police were under no instruction to disrupt the visit and the subsequent rally.

It was learnt that but for the presence of police at the rally ground for kanu’s reception, the crowd could not have been effectively controlled.

“We are aware of his (Kanu) visit to Port Harcourt. We got pre-intelligence report of the visit and we put adequate security in place, to ensure that the people did not take laws into their hands.

“The best we did was to allow the rally hold, otherwise not even the entire police force in the country could have successfully disperse the ever surging crowd,” the command spokesman disclosed.

Kanu had at the reception restated the demand for referendum to be held for the South Eastern to become an independent nation, declaring that the region would not be Islamised.

In his words: “My earlier position that election would not take place in Igboland, especially the scheduled November 18, governorship poll in Anambra State still persists, pending the referendum for Biafra.

“I mean every word of it, the Anambra State election would serve as the first experiment in the resolve of IPOB supporters to make a powerful statement that they were no longer interested in one Nigeria.

“So, election will not hold in Anambra State and other states in Biafra. That is what the people have agreed on, and there is no going back,” the IPOB boss had declared.

He maintained his position to sustain the Biafra struggle, stressing that the struggle was to save the destiny of future generations.

According to him, Biafran people had been marginalized by the Nigerian government, adding that the need to redeem the Igbo from such injustice and inequality had become imperative.

Reports said what equally surprised the security agencies was that despite thousands of pro-Biafra enthusiasts, who gathered to give Kanu a rousing welcome in Oyigbo, near Port Harcourt, Rivers State the were in peaceful mood.

St. Peters Catholic Church in Oyigbo Local Government area, venue of the receieption had traditional rulers and elders of the state in attendance for the three-hour duration the occasion lasted.

A huge crowd from across Port Harcourt, and some neighbouring states welcomed Kanu, who arrived the venue heralding a thunderous ovation.

Other IPOB leaders, who addressed the gathering said that Kanu is leading a movement that see to attaining the Biafran state wiglhout being violent.

to be actualized “today”, but informed the crowd that Biafra would be achieved through a process,

They informed the crowd that IPOB had already been given five states of the southeast as Biafra but that Kanu had rejected Biafra without Rivers State.

The police did the right thing even though I don't and will never support biafra. If they stormed the place and start shooting, it would have been a disaster and lives will be lost thereby fueling the agitation. Whenever thousands of people are gathered, it's better to leave them alone whenever they're tired they'll go home.

My brother I tire oo. These people are just toying with the lives of millions of we Yoruba Muslims. It is a pity that the government we laboured so much to install have turned its back on us. The truth is that every Yoruba Muslim is in pains right now and they should do something about our plights or else we will force all our brothers that are into skull mining to call for a strike action since we are the ones supplying them with human parts for their devilish ritual purposes.

My uncle is a DPO in Obigbo. He said initially the plan was to disrupt the rally but when they saw the almost half a million crowd and foreign media attached to them mostly Israeli media suspected to decoyed Mossad Agents with powerful real-time camera to stream live to their foreign stations, they changed their mind and took off. He said there was no way 50 police men they had or even 500 would have stopped them.

Why would the police storm a place and start to shoot unarmed people? Is the Police Boko Haram?
