That song ehn...I dey laff quench wen we dey sing am.
Where is ur ANC, abuja?

Anugod:
So I went for my second ANC today, and it was ok... At least I got to take my first shot of TT vaccine grin
I discovered that if you don't open your mouth and talk, you're OYO angry undecided so I no do siddon look today o cheesy

I even answered kweshion during the class grin and the nurse praised me cool*pops collar*
I explained the meaning of IUFD (Intra-uterine fetal death), thanks to this wonderful platform kiss kiss
I was really feeling like a pro cool even though I had no bump to show angry undecided

Those mamas can sabi use belle do seniority sha undecided undecided
One wanted to intimidate me, that I never reach to collect TT angry but I told her that this bump-less belle wey you dey see so don almost reach 6 months o undecided undecided
She then kept quiet and directed me to where I could get the vaccine tongue

The nurse who taught us today was very nice and friendly, and she was also preggy smiley
She first asked us to stand up and dance. grin When mamas started grumbling, she said, "na only una waka come?" cheesy Then she started shaking bumbum and mothers had no choice than to join. grin
She taught us one song like that grin

My belle don full 2x
With the blessings of the Lord 2x
My belle don full 2x
With the blessings of the Lord 2x
Any sex I born 2x
Whether boy or girl 2x
My belle don full 2x
With the blessings of the Lord 2x grin grin

Tune is same as "My hands are filled with the blessings of the Lord". cheesy

One more thing, I left home 5:30am, got there around few minutes after 6 and met a huge crowd of mamas waiting shocked shocked I believed I would not be less than number 30, but surprisingly, I was number 19 smiley because some of them were there to see the doctor, and not for ANC.
I guess that's one downside of general hospital sha.

But all in all, I enjoyed today, and was able to leave on time. I heard more good reviews about them today, and I guess I'm still sticking with them yet.
I got my TT shot and my next appointment is next month, not next two months again grin so it's all good. kiss

And oh, that nurse checking vitals made me cut off my nails I had been keeping for months now cry cry cry I knew it was not allowed, but I don't know how she managed to see them when I hid my fingers embarassed embarassed I didn't even remember to take one last remembrance picture of the nails before I cut them off cry cry cry
DH will so laugh at me today because he had been telling me to cut them for ages now but I refused angry undecided

Dazall *drops mic*

Why do you have to submit a leave letter if school is going on vacation, can't you enjoy the vacation first then submit the request when school resumes grin
Leave letter/ maternity leave certificate has September as my due date, I don't want to resume till next year. It has not started counting.

birth story part 3

(Sorry for the break in transmission)
I was discouraged when they I said I was still 2cm after 7hrs of passing the misoprostol. This was at 11am.Then they said my baby's heart rate was decelerating and placed me on a machine for 30mins to monitor the heart rate. Heart rate was within normal limits for the 30mins (that was a big scare as they were already counseling me for cs if the result does not come out fine). After the monitoring , the contractions started getting more painful and frequent, then the drama started. I was just shouting for help. My mom went to call the doctor to check me around 1pm, they were reluctant since I was still 2cm 2hours ago. They eventually checked and said 5cm. they wheeled me to labor room, that was when dh joined us. They set drip for me for hydration, the contractions were coming very frequent, I was just saying rubbish. I started feeling the urge to push, they said I shouldn't push but I couldn't control it. The midwife was preparing to wear gloves and all, the other one said she shouldn't, that I am just 5cm. But has God will have it the doctor checked again and I was fully dilated. The doctor was just saying he could not believe it. By the next contraction, I could not control it the head was already coming out. Everyone in the labor room was shouting for me to wait that I will tear, the nurse has not prepared and she wanted to give me episiotomy. I could not control it at all, she eventually gave the cut but I had tears too. My boy came out at 2.30pm weighing 3.36kg. I did not believe how fast everything happened. God really showed up. I was stitched and taken back to my room.

We are home now and doing fine.
Thanks to my able Cappo phlakkeys and all the other sabi mamas. May bless us, ours and the work of our hands

thank u ma..

I'm no longer bleeding

I'm currently on bedrest at the hospital. they refuse to let me observe the rest at home. the scan says everything is very okay and fetus is doing good, but it also says there is a mild separation of gestational sac from uterine wall.. which may pose threatened abortion.. the sac Is supposed to be well attached.. and no separation

so the reason for bed rest and other treatments..

he also explained the fetus moves sometimes to find the right spot to attach to.. so possibly in the process of moving it caused a tear on the uterus lining which usually causes spotting.

(in all I've been told there's no cause for alarm) just need rest till they confirm it well attached

teamie it is well with you. Your baby is here to stay. #Teamfebruarynomoreloss#

Sleeping:
●Crib/ cot/ cotbed /bassinet
●Mattress if not already part of the set you buy
●Beddings - i.e bedsheet
●Mosquito netting

Feeding:
●Bottles and teats
●Sterilizer - electric, microwave/ cold water with sterilizing tablets
●Bottle brush for washing
●Formular if using
●Breast pump - manual or electric
●Breast pads
●Nipple. Cream - lanolin based.
●Breast feeding cover - Optional as some ladies are comfy without it.

Bathing and changing:
●Baby bath
●Small towel - doesnt need to be a baby towel many people complain they are not absorbent enough.
●Nappies - disposables or reusable - for the disposable nappies maybe 1 pack of size 1 and the rest a size 2. (allow for up to 12 nappy changes in a 24 hr period)
●Wipes - disposable or reusable - for disposable get the fragrance free type for sensitive skin.
●Body cream
●Hair cream
●Bath soap
●Nappy cream - nothing special, vaseline, ori or coconut oil work well

Carrying:
●Car seat -: i see this as an essential item.
●Baby carrier if you need one
●Rocker/ swing / bouncer - now with this i would advice get one that is newborn to toddler i.e up to 18 kg as most bouncers have a 9kg weight limit and depending on how big you baby is, may outgrow it by 6 months!. Also look for the ones that have a newborn position which is an almost flat lying setting, as some og them mainly the electrical swing types tend to have baby in a funny position, and you may not really be able to use it properly in the first few weeks until baby grows a bit. .

Clothing:
Few tips:
Babies outgrow clothes unbeliveable fast. get as many unisex items as possible so that you can have longer use in case next baby is of opposite sex.

Do not buy too many newborn items as you baby may be big and they may not even fit. 0-3 months is ideal.

Dont get sucked into buying a load of fancy dresses under 3months, your baby will live in bodysuits for the first 3 months so dont waste your money.

Shoes for newborns are also a waste of money to me. They just make them pretty, so we can buy them.. hry have absolutely no functional use!

Factor in how many times a day you would bath a baby and how often you intend to do laundry. You can always buy more if you need to.

●Vests - both longsleeved and short sleeved versions. May be 7-10 number to start

●Bodysuits/all-in-one/onsies - get the ones with integrated scratch mittens ... that way you do not start looking for mittens which always have a way of getting lost as they never seem to fit well. about 7 - 10 in number to start

●1 special outing for naming or christening if required

●Socks! Loadssssss these could also double up as mittens, as they are more elastic and they wont fall off! I would say a dozen pairs especially of they are being used on the hands as well

●Bibs... loadssssss but at least a dozen!

●Burb cloths or muslins to wipe up drool, spit ups and all sorts.
● A couple of blankets or shawls.

That is all i can think of for now. I am sure other mamas will contribute.
