It's your prerogative I guess. I just struggle to see how people wake up day after day harboring such resentments and pouring all this bile online. It can't be the healthiest of mindsets. So, I can only hope you do it just for the kicks and it doesn't permeate how you view the real world.

Guy, this section is not for you. I've told you before. Go to health, jobs and vacancies. It's not funny around here.

If you clean, we go rub am for your body.

Not everyone here enjoys this. But since some miscreants have decided to turn this section into a pig sty, we can't help but get dirty with them.

Dude, save the sermon abeg. Your own people need this pep-talk more than any other. I'd be more concerned about your fellow kinsmen going about creating enemies for themselves everywhere they go, rather than worrying about Yoruba folks who are merely paying y'all back in your own coin.

I can see that you are very myopic and unexposed. First, Nigeria which southwest is part of is a 3rd world country, hence you can't rule out poverty. Even US that is a 1st world country has slums, ghetto and poverty not to talk of Nigeria. We Yorubas don't go about self-denying reality like you Osus that make everyone believe that your roads are tarred with platinum and gold whereas your region is the 2nd most impoverished region after the war ravaged Northeast.
You mention Makoko, Ijeshatedo, Agege, Bodija etc. But only if you know that these places are like heaven compared to majority of Igbo towns and villages like Ivo, Ezeagwu, Igbo-etiti, Nkalagu, Ogbunike, Ihiala, Ekwulobia, Ishiagu, Umudike, Akpakume-Nze, Umueke, Ahiara, Oji river, Abala etc. you will cry your eyes off. People are dying of hunger in Igboland on a daily basis, go there to help them and keep your worry about southwest to yourself we don't need them

See i went out purposely knowing that i gotcha .So you want yourselves to be judged by the "quality yardstick" of Lekki ,Festac etc while you judge others with the yardstick of Malaysian jails and other bad stuff? Out of the millions of Igbos you wanna judge all of them by the bad few apples? Wow,hypocrisy is a bad disease i tell ya.
You got what? shocked You only shot yourself in the foot, using your own words. sad Everyone can see hypocrisy written all over you. Were you not the one who first started boasting that your people were better businessmen than others - despite the fact that ample evidence had been provided to disprove that claim?

Then you exposed your hypocrisy again by claiming there was 'less inequality in the east.' undecided What a joke. cheesy Later, you unmasked the rest of your hypocritical face, by claiming that: " An Igbo can go live in Malaysia ,Texas ,South Africa or Brazil and still thrive independently while you people only " thrive" in only one region due to peddling influence ,connections to powerful people." sad It was then pointed out to you, that the news of your people's antics in those foreign cities you mentioned, was a poor yardstick for measuring influence.

In your own view, people from other ethnic groups do not thrive in different foreign countries abroad, not so? In order to embellish your lies further, you further claimed there were only 2 billionaires in the south west, sorrounded by a sea of paupers. Let me guess: you did a census in order to arrive at this false conclusion? Or you were just eager to spread your peculiar brand of falsehood and propaganda? shocked

sad Finally, you turned round to mention Ijora, Badiya, Ajegunle and the slums. You were trying to paint the whole of Lagos black, by pretending the only areas that exist in the whole city were slums filled with destitutes. This was disproved, and your lies were exposed. Can you see how you shot yourself in the foot with your whole hypocrisy? But since deceit runs in your veins, it is not surprising to see that you still wear your hypocrisy, like a badge.

CALEB UNIVERSITY
.:

Caleb University is a private university located in Imota Lagos Nigeria.

The systematic history of Caleb University dates back to 1986 when Prince Oladega Adebogun planted the initial seed for a nursery and primary school in the heart of Mainland Lagos. The seemingly intractable falling standard in public sector education and the demand amongst most parents for schools with high academic standards, as well as the inculcation of Christian values served as the necessary impetus for the creation of Caleb Nursery and Primary School.

The high academic attainment within the school, coupled with the exemplary moral behaviour of the students increased demand for places in the school. Parents also began to yearn for a secondary institution that emphasizes the same objectives, ambitions, values and teaching methods. This, logically, paved the way for the establishment of Caleb International College in Magodo GRA, Lagos, in 1995.

The college served as a natural transition path for many pupils who have attended Caleb Primary School. Within a few years of establishment, the performances of the college students at the Junior and Senior Secondary School Certificate examinations (JSCE/SSCE) quickly established Caleb amongst the ranks of high flying secondary schools in the Country. The college expanded its extra-curricular programme, expanded its music band, and included overseas study tours for its students from 1999.

In 1999, application for places at the College reached unprecedented level, with full applications to every available place. Such positive interest agitated the need for a bigger location. Caleb International College continued the rich tradition of moral and academic excellence and sometime in 2003, a branch of the College was established in Lekki to cater for parents residing in the Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki axis of Lagos. To maintain its position as a prime provider of qualitative education and respond to the industrial demands for staff of true international calibre, the establishment initiated the necessary process for the introduction of a Cambridge O level programme and International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) in 2004. Caleb's position as an international organization was truly recognized in 2004 when it was admitted as a full member of the International School's Association (ISA).

Prince Adebogun also felt deeply inspired to establish a university that will do for tertiary education, what Caleb has creditably done for primary and secondary education and in response to the invitation of the Federal Government of Nigeria through Act no. 9 of 1993 to allow Private Corporate bodies or individual Nigerian Citizens to establish and run Universities, subject to meeting approved guidelines such as having an approved Academic Brief, Master plan, University Law and proven ability to finance such a project.

By 2005 much progress had been recorded with the production of the Draft Academic brief, Draft University Law and purchase of over 100 acres of land in Imota, Lagos State. By November of the same year, the first NUC- SCOPU verification visit took place while the final NUC-SCOPU verification was held in May, 2006. To the Glory of God, on May 17, 2007. The Federal Government of Nigeria granted probational operational License for Caleb University to operate as a private University. The University started full academic program with admission of its first set of students, a total of 83 male and 58 female students on Monday, January 7, 2008.

You said Yorubas own/facilitated about 40 out of those 50 universities. Considering I counted 27 out of that 50 outside the SW, I doubt that info is accurate. That's not to say though that the number of private universities established in the SW aren't impressive. No need to exaggerate though.

The Proprietor of Lead City University, Ibadan is the Eduserve Consult.

The University submitted its application to the National Universities Commission the year 2002. The Standing Committee on Private Universities (SCOPU) conducted the verification and the final assessment visits in August and September, 2003, respectively. At the end of the assessment visits, SCOPU reported that the profile of the Proprietor of Lead City University confirmed that it has the capacity and resources to establish a private university. Thereafter, the University was "approved for immediate take off" by the Board of NUC in December 2003 as a prelude to the ratification by the Federal Executive Council, which was effected on the 16th of February, 2005.

Though the charter of the university has City University, Ibadan as its name but due to several cases of mistaken identity and in order to avert corporate identity problem, the Board of Trustees and Council of the University had an extra-ordinary meeting on the 7th of March, 2005, and resolved to modify the name to read Lead City University, Ibadan. The change in name was subsequently communicated to the Federal Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and other stakeholders while all previous documents relating to City University, Ibadan remain valid.

Motto

The motto of the university is "Knowledge for Self-reliance". This is in recognition of the power of education to challenge inequality in the quest to have access to resources for entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

Currently in its seventh academic session. Lead City University, Ibadan (LCU) is a private University approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It has graduated three sets of students.

The school offers various programmes suitable for both the young adolescents and adult working class. It indeed recognises the need to accommodate the time constraints to individuals and therefore provides flexibility by allowing for a choice between part-time and full-time study schemes. Programmes are offered by specialized faculties in social sciences and entrepreneurial studies, information technology and applied sciences, and law.

To ensure that the university remains at the forefront of the latest development in the fields of information technology and management education, students have optimal access to data, information and knowledge through state-of-the-art computer facilities, inter-linkage, electronic library, audiovisual aids and student-friendly course materials.
Character, conduct and service

Students at all levels are expected to comply with the university dress code, exhibit satisfactory moral conduct and exemplary behaviour, provide service to the community and engage in sporting/extra-curricular activities.
Opportunity for additional qualifications
It is mandatory for all undergraduate students of Lead City University to register with and pass the examinations of at least one recognised professional or vocational trade body during the course of their studentship in the university. It is believed that the additional qualifications shall enhance students' chances for job competition or self employment.
