SlateCode — hire software developers in Nigeria SlateCode is an online marketplace that connects web developers, engineers, programmers, coders, architects, to clients needing their services. Co-founders Akinwumi Fakokunde (CEO), Sesu Raj (CTO) and Adedeji AbdulMajeed AbdulRaheem (COO) launched SlateCode in March 2017. SlateCode services two categories of audiences; developers who wish to offer their services and clients who want to hire developers. According to Akinwumi Fakokunde, the process of recruiting developers on the platform is straight forward. He also stated that remuneration for projects executed is highly encouraging. The founders claim that top companies and startups hire software developers from SlateCode for their most mission-critical projects. What’s more interesting is that the team particularly boasts of being able to provide clients with the top 3% of software developers in Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

Ayeni Adekunle is the founder and CEO of BHM Group, a media company under which popular brands like NET and BlackHouse Media are subsidiaries. For example, the name ‘BlackHouse’ is inspired by one his favourite Yoruba proverbs — Inú ìkòkò dúdú l’èko funfun ti n’jade — which roughly translates to “it is from the black pot that the pure white pap is made”. The “black pot” here refers to Africa which he believes holds the key to the future. |

Trust Yorubas to do something productive with their anger I built my payments company because PayPal ignored my emails — Olaoluwa Awojoodu, CashEnvoy Founder The above quote should be the mantra of every serious entrepreneur. If there’s anyone living that mantra to the fullest, it’s Olaoluwa Awojoodu. He is the founder and CEO of Electronic Settlement Limited (ESL), the company behind and array of noteable payment solutions in Nigeria including CashEnvoy and mobile POS solution, PayPad. The first point of call for everyone then was of course PayPal. So I wrote a long proposal to PayPal seeking for a partnership in Nigeria. They just ignored me like they did a lot of people. Eventually, I thought, “why not just build this thing yourself?” I enlisted the help of Segun Okin, a former course mate. Segun had helped with the development of another of my projects — Bottom Naira — which helped people shop abroad by proxy. https://techpoint.ng/2016/07/25/olaoluwa-awojoodu-cashenvoy-founder/ 3 Likes |

Classic Men: Running Nigeria’s biggest Fashion eCommerce marketplace [TRACLIST] It is not everyday you find men venturing into fashion, especially in Nigeria, where it is largely considered a woman’s space. However, two men — Emotu Balogun and Segun Afolahan — have managed to successfully carve a niche for themselves with Traclist, a fashion eCommerce marketplace. Generating revenue in excess of ₦80 million this year [2015] alone, the small company has grown from its humble beginnings, as part of the Co-Creation Hub‘s incubation programme, into arguably Nigeria’s biggest fashion eCommerce marketplace. |

Meet Olumide Olusanya, a former Medical Doctor who quit the practice to sell groceries online Olumide Olusanya is Chief ‘Glootian’ at Gloo.ng, a pioneering online grocery business based in Lagos. Or Sparta, depending on how you choose to see it. You can hardly miss all the references to Sparta strategically placed all around the Gloo.ng office in Lekki, Lagos Island. Gloo.ng’s CEO says the emerging Nigerian e-commerce site expects its revenue is to reach $1 million by the end of the year, a statistics that shows the awesome growth opportunity and potential in the country’s online commerce sector. Doctor turned entrepreneur Olumide Olusanya said his Gloo.ng’s revenue grew 97 percent year-on-year, and the business covers only 50 percent of Lagos – Nigeria’s commercial hub. And there’s more to it; The CEO says 80 percent of their revenue comes from repeat business. While Olusanya says this means his company isn’t spending a chunky fortune to acquire new customers (through adverts and promotions) like his rivals, it also shows the vast opportunity to make new customers. 1 Like 1 Share |

Olalekan Akinyanmi, CEO of Lekoil One of the reasons why I founded Lekoil is my knowing that there were some benefits for indigenous companies –Not just in Nigeria, but in other parts of Africa as well. In Nigeria, it is quite explicit because of the local content policy. But, in other African countries, the local content policy is present as well, but is implicit. 1 Like |
