Yauri is the third biggest rice market in Kebbi state after Argungu(second) and Bunza(first). These three towns sets Friday as weekly market days for rice trading. Because Kebbi farmers cultivate rice throughout the year, every week all year round thousands of rice traders from different parts of Nigeria and bordering francophone countries storm Kebbi markets for different varieties of rice.  This is development, yes it's great. But in like fashion, one part of the country has been given an advantage, while no one cares about the others. Short sighted 'leaders' didn't even see this coming... But here it is. Once again, it's good. But don't shove it down our throats. [b]Have been to Kebbi state before, lived there for months. I must tell you that they have rice in that state alot but most of the rice are sandy one and this is because it is not a processed rice. If you go to their hospitals, you will see people queue to be operated because of appendix, this is as the result of this brown rice you are seeing. Their doctors are the best in operating appendix. Value addition and processing is obviously so lacking. Imagine how much extra profit will be retained in that community, and in Nigeria. If only those farmers had proper mills and a government backed(not managed) cooperative to work with.
