5 Nigerian youngsters to look out for in the Belgian league. Henry Onyekuru One of Nigeria’s brightest young talents. Onyekuru joined Everton of England after a remarkable season in Belgium in which he scored a whopping 22 goals for KAS Eupen to emerge as joint top scorer. Sent on a season long loan to Anderlecth due to work permit issues Henry looks to continue where he left off in a terrain he is already familiar with and against defenders he has already breezed past on several occasion. Can he do it again? Pacy, skillful and deadly in front of goal the winger cum striker no one should bet against him Dennis Bonaventure Dennis Bonaventure Nigerias next big thing and one of the fastest rising and most exciting Nigerian talents out there. After impressing in the Ukraine where he scored 6 goals in 22 games for Zorya Luhansk, as well as scoring the fastest goal of the season against Dynamo Kiev, Club Brugge will be a perfect platform for the 19 year old to showcase his talent. Has already given a hint in preseason where he has scored 5 goals for Brugge Fast skillful elegant and direct, Dennis will definitely light up the Jupiler league and a national team call up shouldn’t be far from the “Nigerian Neymar” Samuel Kalu Samuel Kalu Amazing young talent. Kalu joined KAA gent from Slovak side AS Trenčín where he scored 4 goals in 32 appearances and quickly settled in probably thanks to the presence of 4 of his compatriots at the club Already becoming a fan favorite at the prestigious Ghelmaco Arena of Gent and has hit the net 2ce already in 14 appearances mostly as a sub Skillful, pacy and one of the best crossers of the ball Nigeria has currently, it’s almost a sure bet that this season Kalu will step out of the shadow of his older more experienced compatriot Moses Simon and become one of the mainstays of KAA Gent Peter Olayinka Peter Olayinka “Eye” as he is fondly called in Nigeria is finally getting his moment in the spotlight. Sidelined for a while due to injury after joining Moses Simons KAA Gent 2 seasons ago from Albanian side Skenderbreu Korce, he was sent on loan first to FK Dukla Prague and now to SV Zulte Waregem Blessed with incredible speed Olayinka is a player who never stops running and bridges easily on pace due to his swiftness. Has been tipped to be one of the best players in Belgium Uche Agbo Uche Agbo The vastly underrated Agbo will be hoping to raise his profile in Belgium with Standard Leige. The 20-year-old holding midfielder spent the 2016/17 season with Granada on loan from premier league side Watford, making 28 starts from 31 appearances in the La Liga where he won an amazing 77 tackles and was rated as the as the fourth best tackler among Under-21 players’ in the top five leagues in Europe and the best from Africa Strong, fast and an amazing tackler Uche is a quality asset in any teams midfield. Blame it on greedy football agents coupled with lack of proper education by our young players. O pari tbaba1234: |

At least the clubs he has played for over the years never gave a verdict that he is finished or too injury prone to be taken seriously.. He still gets his wages and hardly disappoints when on the pitch. Icon79: |

If Kelechi does not sort out his transfer issues, I doubt he will get any games in Man city this season. Nigeria needs him back to his best. |

Firstly, There is what you call context.. The context could have been relative to Nigeria. It could have also been over the years relative to Nigeria. I had mentioned the Swiss born goalkeeper before I made that comment. So for you to start out with that condition is a baseless argument because it would lead us to an argument similar to what we have trashed here before -- those who are for abroad born versus those who want us to focus on local talents/nigerian-born ONLY. I'm in the camp that says as longs as a player is a decent of Nigeria they have the same right to stake a claim for an SE shirt. Secondly, you tried to rule out Kameni, on what ground? That he is too old? what ground my brother? Nobody joined issues with me except you because they already saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Even if we should use your standards, Nigeria can't boast of one keeper who is first choice in a top tier league. Yes, if we rule out Kameni, that means we also have to rule out Enyeama. Is it not already clear? There is no basis for an argument here. You even went on to say except Onana. My brother which kind condition be that? And you now went on asking me to name seven. My sister safarigirl said if we did the needed we would have them. I'm not disputing that. But in the real world you can say if etc and give excuses it doesn't change what's on ground. Nigerians need to get it right and stop being OVERLY sentimental. Till now we still have an incompetent Sports Minister. Somebody cried Pinnick put his brother as the coach of the national U15 team the other day, and the NFF came with explanations. My question, what's wrong with coach Danladi to handle the team in interim? It's become our culture to act sentimentally but expect success. In life it doesn't go that way. you can never eat your cake and have it. So back to the matter. Why am I not still naming any Cameroonian keeper? Simply because the way you started out with me with those conditions, showed your high degree of sentiments and that we are going to have a long argument. And I'm not ready for such. I'd rather spend my time posting the latest news on here. I will choose Nigeria over Cameroon any day. But should I be a match analyst in any given encounter, I will say it as it is from both opponent's perspective, and also from an onlooker who has no special interest in the match. Truth is if we fail to get our act together and fail to play as a team against Cameroon, they will deal with us home and away. We need that South African approach when we take on Cameroon. What was their approach. The coach Baxter knew us very well. he knew his match plan. They trained to execute it. And they were confident they would execute it. It's arrogance when all our players but one played poorly that day, and we refuse to give SA some credits. Let's get real. Almost all players cannot just have a bad day. If we had scored 3 goals and won or at least drawn, we would not have been looking for a scape goat in Akpeyi. Those goals he conceded could have beaten decent goal keepers. ChrisKels: |

TheGoodJoe:What does that mean you talk with assumption but not underpinned with first hand knowledge just speculative pre-assumption, knowing how we operate in Nigeria that is not wisdom.Barely two weeks ago I had some video footage forwarded to a premiership clubs analyst on the instruction of the clubs manager the analyst gave his objective view i.e. player is exceptional. However, that objective view was not held by the hod recruitment and Chairman. Consequently, player was not signed. What i am trying to highlight is that video analysis will not supersede strong and sometimes prejudiced personal opinion. |

Humility017:you are right, but cnt deny that Chelsea, fail in their job to him, he would hav join a number of club in turkey permanently but, in such times Chelsea went what's bigger than Dem, hence they gave him false assurance to make him sign a deal, and den ships him off on loan, to them its business as usually |

komekn:You just jump in to argue. When you started, I thought you wanted to discredit or make something objective. Who said the Video analyst supercedes and what do you mean how things work in Nigeria? It is a technical crew headed by foreigners, so, that talk does not hold. With reference to the video analyst, I am talking of monitoring and evaluating players. Making recommendations which in your comment confirms what I am saying. So I do not get the point you are making. I clearly stated and you quoted that the coach has to look in. At the end the final call falls on the coach. So what are you talking assumption and first hand information. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:44pm On Jul 31, 2017 |
komekn:As I said before there is a video analyst working in the team and he will most likely has studied past games of players and if from what he is looking for he notices that the talent is special, the coach has to look in to see if the analytical study is right. If in camp the player shows great promises as indicated, then the coach will work on integrating him into the team. Did you read the bolded? Does that not show that the video analyst can not supersede the decision of the coach? |
