Noun ranked 75 in Nigeria. Not too bad considering some Federal universities didn't make up to 75. Even Tasued is below us. Here is the link: http://www.webometrics.info/en/Africa/Nigeria |

Morning my brothers and sisters, few know me. Many don't. I am Donbrowser, an undergraduate, a graduate, a researcher and a petty business man. I am in my late twenties with strong urge for change. I am a NIGERIAN with a heavy heart each time i see a country like ours with very large population coveted by many other smaller nations engage in tribal wars. It is on record that Nigeria's largest Forum is Nairaland.com and it serves as a significance and reflection of what the Nigerian society looks like. For Few years now, this great forum has been a source of knowledge to many people even outside Nigeria all the credits to Mr Seun Osewa. Nairaland has gone through a lot of trends from spacebook.ers, Namechecker.s, fu.ckergivers, hereinfrance crew, endtime crew to the current shift lemme faint crew. The latest trend on Nairaland as at now is one that has come to stay for a long time and will have a lot of effect on the general view of the forum both locally and internationally. Nairaland has become a place where every single political, crime and cultural thread is a ring for tribal stunts. This act has become almost acceptable that 90% of users on Nairaland now check the names of people who have committed crimes, embezzled money or done something wrong; if they find people from other tribes there, they say silent prayer of thanks. I believe Nairaland Mods and the owner Mr. Seun Osewa have been doing a great job but tribalism on Nairaland is a threat to the Nigerian society at large. This is one of the few things i wish to use my position as MR. NAIRALAND to correct if elected. A Vote for Donbrowser is a vote against Tribalism. Let's kick tribalism out of Nairaland. |

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR E-EXAMS* 1. The questions are scattered but the same for all students. The position of the questions are scattered (i.e. Number one question on your screen might be the number 25th question on another person's screen... and even option A in your question might me option D in another person's question). The questions are scattered, as well as the options. Just like it is done in your TMA 2. The questions are like 35-40% OBJ but 60-65% fill-in-the-gap 3. The variation of the OBJ questions compared to the fill-in-the-gap varies depending on the exam (course you are writing) 4. Some questions in the OBJ are sometimes repeated in the fill-in-the-gap. So of you forgot some answers, move on to the next question, you will definitely find some other OBJ question that will help you remember what you forgot and help you answer the fill-in-the-gap.. that's how it goes 5. You should expect 120 questions in each course, except in Mathematics courses which carry 35 questions and each question carries 2 marks each 6. You are timed the moment you start the exam. Hence, do not waste your time trying to figure out difficult questions... in most cases, you will still find your answers in the front. 7. You will see only one question per page (unlike in your TMA where u have all the questions in one page). Hence you will be required to click "Next" to navigate to the next question or "previous" to navigate to the previous questions. There is usually a part below the page which shows the questions you have answered in a particular colour and the ones you have not answered in another coulour. This makes it easy for you to be able to spot the undone questions easily and switch to them just by one click should in case you want to check on them. 8. Once you log out, the time will stop. You might switch to another system (if any case warrants that) or continue with the same system of you wish. By the time you log back in, the time will continue from where it stopped but the questions and options will be scattered again as usual. 9. It is important that you pray before leaving home or even starting the exam.. this is because sometimes you might be seated with a bad system which might crash at anytime or freeze or give any issues. Sometimes, the affected students might have gotten so disorganized and frustrated before continuing with the exams. If their engineers come around to assist you and they succeeded, you are lucky, but the effect is that your time would have been far spent and there is nothing you (or even they) can do about it. 'Luck' is needed sometimes and it is more than 'skill' so pray well enough! 10. You must note that your picture will appear on each page of the exam question.. this will make impersonation a big risk to take. 11. You will be required to login with your matric number and password in the e-exam portal just the way you did in your TMA portal.. so guys make sure you dont have issues with your matric number or password. 12. There are important buttons to note (as you will see at the top of each page) - NEXT - PREVIOUS - LOGOUT - SUBMIT You must not click on the SUBMIT button unless you are ready to do so. It will prompt you to confirm if you are actually ready to submit tho. Usually, before submitting, it will let you understand that there are still some questions you have left unanswered.. you may wish to still go ahead and submit or check on the ones that you are yet to answer. Leaving unanswered questions does not disturb you from submitting. 13. Once you submit, you see your score instantly! You should form the habit of noting your scores after each paper and writing it somewhere safe for record purposes so that you will compare with the result that NOUN will release at the end of the exams to know if there are any errors or not.. This will serve as a proof for necessity to go ahead to pursue a complaint or not. 14. You must not forget that it is a computer-based exam, it is computer that will mark your answers and not human so all the answers are already programmed. If you type in anything that is different from what is already programmed, it will score you wrong.. so you must make sure you type the answers accurately by spelling them correctly. 15. In addition to the above point, you must note that you cannot use your own English to answer the fill-in-the-gap questions.. it must be answered according to how it is written in the course material or how u saw them in the TMA question. If it was human that would answer the question, they will understand you and score you right.. but for a computer, it cannot do anything on its own except what was programmed on it. |

*HOW TO CALCULATE NOUN EXAMINATION SCORE AND TMA* Exam is around the corner and majority of candidates wants to know how NOUN grading system is when it comes to calculating Exam Score and TMA. Follow me as I teach you…. NOUN Exam is over 70 NOUN TMA is over 30 TOTAL: 100 TMA means Tutor Marked Assignment. For your registered, you are entitled to 4TMA, of which you must submit before end of the semester exam. After submitting, it will be graded over 10, but the best three TMA will be considered and be chosen, which makes it 30. Take for instance: Let’s taake GST102 as a course case study. Let’s say, TMA 1 – 9.50 TMA 2 – 10.0 TMA 3 – 9.00 TMA 4 – 10.0 The best 3 are 9.50, 10.0 and 10,0 – which is equal to 29.50 over 30 Now the question is, how do i calculate my exam score plus my TMA score? I must tell you, it’s very simple! You should note that, all NOUN questions doesn’t Have the same number of questions, some have 100, 120, 150 and 35. The courses with 35 are most of the time MTH courses. 100 and 120 questions are 2unit courses 150 questions are 3 unit courses Anyway, let’s get into business… For Example: (GST102) After GST102 exam, you checked your score and you scored 95 out of 120 questions. And in your TMA for GST102, like I said earlier, you scored 29.50/30. To calculate your total score over 100, use this formula: Formula: x/y x 70/1 That is, let x = what you score in the exam, and y = total number of exam question, which simple means, EXAM SCORE divided by NUMBER OF EXAM QUESTION multiplied by 70. Whatever your result is from the above calculation, you’ll now add it to your tma. Follow me with this calculation: Exam score (x) = 95 Total number of exam question (y) = 120 Therefore, it will be 95/120 x 70 The result is 55.41 (NB: your TMA score is 29.50). Now, add 55.41 and 29.50 – Result is 84.91 Which means, GST102 = A also, note, you’ll follow th same way to calculate if your exam question is 100 ot 150. But in the case of 35 questions, all you need to do is multiply whatever you score by 2. That is, if you score 20/35, it will be 20 x 2, which is equal to 40, meaning that you score 40/70. But sometimes, it will have been programmed in such a way the calculation would have been done. You’ll know if it is. You’ll see your score over 70. NOUN adopts the general grading system, find it below: 0-39. — F 40-44 — E 45-49 — D 50-59 — C 60-69 — B 70-100 – A Thank you for reading |
