Ngokafor:Read your initial post again and tell me who is looking for support. Is it southwest that is asking for Biafra or referendum?? Apart from igbos every other part of Nigeria is coward, parasitic, Swiss malls, idiot (as you said up there) yet after calling us names you want us to grant you Biafra. It is lawful for the imprisoned to insult the prisoner It is also lawful for the prisoner to keep him locked up until he learns his manners. Keep insulting... Una go old ontop |

shukuokukobambi:Gala was only used as an example but doesn't fit the description giving here. UAC is a large company with distribution centres across the country but majority of goods consumed in Nigeria doesn't follow that kind of distribution pathway. The importers are mostly based in Lagos, they import and those who distribute to the final consumers cone to buy from them from all parts of Nigeria and beyond. Those who distribute to the final consumers in the majority of cases do not even know what VAT is and meanwhile, the company they buy from to go and distribute in some cases charge them VAT. Another perspective, if I live in Awka and then order a phone from Jumia which is an online trading company based in Lagos, where will Jumia remit my VAT? If I go to berger from Maiduguri to buy a car which I'll take back to Maiduguri, will the car dealer remit the VAT to FIRS in Borno? |

sunnyb0b0:Now you're coming round to my point. Anywhere the sales takes place is where the vat is remitted whether Lagos or Maiduguri. Gala might not be the best example like you said so I brought in that of Banks and I'm sure you agree with that ![]() Anyways, we've laid to rest the tale that our gala selling hustler in Lagos traffic has nothing to do with VAT payment or remittance ![]() |

Ngokafor:You no dey even shame Between Yorubas and Ibos , who is literally hosting who in Nigeria? lol What do Igbos have that Yorubas want? NOTHING. You yourself, think about it deeply and you will see it. He has a right to support or oppose the Idea of Oduduwa Republic, and it has nothing to do with being a parasite or whatever. Some Yorubas declared an Oduduwa Republic a few days ago, because they believe in it as well. the case of the Igbo however is one of a mistletoe that doesn't even know that it doesn't have a root of its own. |

shukuokukobambi:That of banks is certain. My point is that much of what gets its VAT remitted in Lagos are not consumed in Lagos. |

sunnyb0b0:I see your point, but that still does not address the question at all. Again, if Igbos are good at turning waec certificate to billions as you have again claimed is the norm with your folks, kindly explain why the same people cannot replicate the same thing on home soil where they have relatively few immigrants to compete against? If you are as good as you claimed, economic opportunity naturally comes to you, not the other way round. There are countless examples of this, and you know that. It is good to be objective atimes, even when admitting the obvious is not so easy. Igbos have their God given strength. No human being can deny them of it, but denying other people's indirectly will continue to overshadow your efforts. |

Ngokafor:Why do you like telling lies like this? Have you visited other state capitals in the Southwest? The day you step out of your enclave in Ala Igbo to do so, is the day you will realise how daft your remarks sound. As for the Yorubas getting Oduduwa republic, how does that become your own headache, or even mine? Are you Yoruba? Does it affect you in any way if they get their republic or not? Try and get your own country first, before drinking panadol for another person's proposed republic. Chai!

gare:What has seaports got to do with VATs? VAT is a consumption tax, which is highly correlated with purchasing power, no? Tax experts, your inputs will be appreciated here. Off the top of my head, I'll mention cities that have no significant body of navigable water, yet they're economic powerhouse in their own right: In US-Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta, Dallas, Orlando, Las Vegas; In Europe: London, Madrid, Warsaw. In south/central america: Sao Paolo, Mexico City, In China: Beijing. You should envision more than seaports for your region if you want your region to be competitive in the 21st century. Seaports drive commerce, true; but technology is roaring engine of growth. You undermine the achievement of Lagos if you reduced it's success story to mere seaports, and Lagos can do even better than it already has. |
