This is called Steven-Johnson's syndrome. Its a type of allergic reaction to sulpha drugs.

Instead to see a specialist or physicians, dey will prescribes drug for demself , see d result of there ignorance

I guess he is allergy to a component in it or his system reacted to the drug, am sure he got the drug without physicians prescription nor do any test to confirm it truly he was having malaria or not. We do ourselves more harm than good in d name of self prescription.

This is a case of adverse drug reaction. Some of these cases can actually be avoided if people learn to seek proper counselling before using any drugs.

This might have been due to hypersensitivity reaction (allergic reaction). Meaning that it's not all medications that are appropriate for everyone. It's good for doctors to know if you're allergic to a specific drug before it is prescribed for you.
The skin lesion might have been some ALLERGIC DERMATITIS which can disappear if the person stops taking the drugs or probably he takes some anti-allergic medications (glucocorticoids).

To this person it is affecting the skin of the upper body and the perioral region (the lips), in some other people it might affect the respiratory system and cause respiratory distress (difficulty in breathing) , or allergic rhinitis(runny nose)

Also in some other people it might affect the GIT ( Gastrointestinal Tract) and make them have diarrhea and/or constipation.
Another part of the body where allergic reactions commonly affect may be the eyes..... Where the person may be shedding tears due to hyperstimulation of the tears gland (Lacrima gland) where the tears is stored, or it causes redness of the eyes (conjunctivitis) due to dilation of the microcirculation (small blood vessels) of the eyes .

a quick trip to google will tell you that this guy got Steven Johnson syndrome which is an uncommon allergic reaction. the drug was not fake. and please the fellow insulting a tribe of his own country, stop spreading your hate
