N1 billion now... inflation would eat into the N1 million every week. So it is better to take it as a lump sum.

this questions happens in real life though it is too much exaggeration. an employee in a big cocoa industry was asked to retire but they were willing to compensate him very well. he said, he would prefare working with the company and enjoy the salary,bonus and benefits he gets from the company which he did not retire .

As a typical Nigerian who has "scarcity mentality" i will choose 1 billion naira now. Nigerians have this scarcity mentality that's why you see them struggling for everything believing it's not going to be enough for everybody. Go to hospitals, banks, offices, motor parks, etc. Everything is drag drag.
