I wonder why the church lowers it's standards these days; if you are not good enough, then you are simply not good enough. There is absolutely no need to lower any standard.

Don't be deceived the church is not a denomination it is two or more Christians meeting under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Also know this, the Kingdom manifests where a single believer is who lives under the dominion of Christ as his absolute and final authority.

If you read again,maybe you'll see the line where he gave credits to the catholic religion that gave him the "ladder"

The church is structured in humility and obedience, whoever that lacks this, can't be a leader. You are not greater than Fr. Mbaka and can't be greater than other priests with special grace that are still under the authority of their Bishops.

BTW, none forced you to be a priest, if not for anything, appreciate the church that gave you a ladder.

There are some churches that will move U closer to fellowship with Christ while there are some that draw U to things of d world, church going without salvation.

Father Edet has always been one of my favorite Holyghost priests. Just like Father Mbaka before he started delving into politics and material things. I do not know if Father Edet is leaving to pursue financial wealth or because of the Catholic church's doctrines but all in all humans are naturally greedy and most would opt for a wealthy status than spiritual growth. Anyways let God be the judge. Its so funny that people who have never entered a Catholic Church or attended a service or know anything about them are always the ones to wag their tongues and spew trash about the Church. Yet the Catholic church still has more population than any other denomination without any advert like most Pentecostal churches.
I believe denomination won't take anyone to heaven but personal relationship with God,I have been to many churches like Christ Embassy,Winners,Redeeemed, even Cherubim and Seraphim and I can boldly say that when it comes to hearing the word of God and spiritual growth,none comes close to the First and true church;Catholic.
Like someone once said,'Christianity is not a religion but a way of life'. Everyone has their own way of expression. No defined or specific method apart from the Bible and even that has been distorted and translated into different versions to suit different denominations.

They called me all manner of names, they insulted my family even while I overlooked their ignorance. Today I'm standing tall... Move on sir, God is not man, He has a mission to save man not by denomination but by Christ His only son. I keep telling people, God is not after denominations, He is after getting a soul saved. When the apostles where gathering every day in one accord, God wasn't happy because He has given them a mandate to preach the gospel to all nations but they where there gathering and praying in the upper room. God had to allow the enemy to persecute them, it was during the persecution they realized the gifts in them and the need to evangelize...
Move on sir, God will establish you.
To all those praying that erroneous prayer "God bring all the lost sheep into one holy Catholic Church", stop it! God won't answer it. And to those that believe that Christ only instituted Peter as His rock and that the Catholic Church is the rock, I will advise you start reading your Holy Bible and not missals.
I must end without thanking the Catholic Church, papacy for holding on the faith till today. They are. The are the tool God used to keep the church going. I love the Catholic Church but hate the man made dogmas.

Maybe the church wants him to stop the outreach, in Catholic Church of a priest runs a private ministry it will in many ways survey the minister's spiritual power and activities and if it eventually fails the church will definitely close the ministry up. Probably this is case of Mr Edet.

I hope he has truly found Jesus. Religion wants to talk about God but don't want to talk about Jesus, the only mediator between God and man.

Actually, I don't know what this man meant by "lack of freedom". I am a catholic and I have no restriction to freedom in the way I serve God. I am free to pray loud, speak in tongues, study the scriptures and make my way right with God. I guess the priest needs a woman to warm his bed and nothing more than that.

There are other priests that wants to leave too. If the church is not careful more priests will leave before the end of this year. The Catholic Church no more pay attention to its people and priests, the church now pay attention to more money and the priests pay attention to luxury. There are still many more priests like Rev. Edet that is nursing that same idea. We pray for our priests and religious that God will make them more holy and know the essence of their calling through Christ our Lord.

priests had been leaving from time immemorial but more priests are been ordained. Christ gave his disciples rules and some left but instead of persuading them not to leave he encouraged those left to leave. Just as Christ is not looking for croud so the church too.
