Hey Shym3xx, you dey in touch with the dude?

Marketing strategy, he should produce just 50 pairs of this particular style, and stamp it with a limited edition logo and lot#, then send a pair to each of Acting President, Dino Melaye, Amaechi, Ambode, Ooni, Emir Sanusi, Ngige...FREE!

I guarantee you within a year this guy, LoLu, go become household name in shoe market. Ooni, Dino Melaye, Amaechi, Ambode and Emir of Kano....these guys love shoes and are always flaunting their footwear in public.
There is no better time than now that patriotism and secession are both trending in Nigeria.
But politicians and elites don't define fashion trends, tho.

I think celebrities are responsible for that since they've star power and big fan bases with folks who look up to them for a lot of things.

The Headies

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f9/Theheadieslogo.jpg

The Headies (formerly known as the Hip Hop World Awards) are an accolade established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievement in the Nigerian music industry. The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists.[1] It is broadcast live on HipTV to television viewers across Nigeria.[2] The 2006 and 2007 editions of The Headies were held at the Muson Center in Onikan, Lagos State. From 2010 through 2012, The Headies were held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. Several media personalities in Nigeria have hosted the annual ceremony, including Darey Art Alade, D'banj, Dakore Egbuson, Banky W., Rita Dominic, M.I, Tiwa Savage and Dr SID.

The image of The Headies was created by Ayo Animashaun, the founder of the awards, and drawn by Matthias Aragbada. The first Headie plaque was done by Jide Adewoye. It represents "the image and the shout of a young, vibrant man whose talent can challenge that of Nas, Mode 9, Kanye West, Sound Sultan and Jay Z combined but who has almost lost confidence in his abilities in the face of daunting odds presented by the Nigerian environment." In 2008, the plaque was redone in the United Kingdom. It was plated with 21 carat gold. The new plaque is a mixture of resin, copper, steel, marble and gold.

Let me start with London's own Jay Ajayi.

Jay Ajayi

After having his break out season in 2016, due to injuries, he's currently ranked 69 among the top 100 current players in the NFL:

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-top100-2017/0ap3000000809083/Top-100-Players-of-2017-No-69-Jay-Ajayi

He's also ranked 3rd among NFL's rising stars:

Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi ranks third on list of NFL’s rising stars
A day after being ranked 69th on the list of the NFL’s Top 100 players, Ajayi checks in at No. 3 on the NFL Players Association list of 2017 “Future Top-Selling Stars” announced Tuesday.

The NFLPA ranks players by factors including 2016 on-field performances and fantasy league popularity to predict players ready to break out among next season’s top sellers in merchandise sales. All of which means the Dolphins ought to be busy churning out No. 23 jerseys now.

Running backs appear to be a hot item in general, because the top four are Arizona’s David Johnson, Atlanta’s Devonta Freeman, Ajayi and Chicago’s Jordan Howard.
http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2017/05/16/miami-dolphins-rb-jay-ajayi-ranks-third-on-list-of-nfls-rising-stars/
And he's ranked as the best RB in the NFL against stacked boxes:

Jay Ajayi leads Top-10 RBs against stacked boxes

One of the Next Gen Stats we have here measures performance against stacked defensive fronts. This gives us a running back's yards per attempt on non-red zone carries when there are eight or more defenders in the box. The metric helps us get a sense of how a running back performed against crowded fronts, whether it be from extra defensive attention or the formations the offenses deploy. As with any stat, but especially this one, context is key and we'll attempt to dilute that context with each player.

Notes: Only running backs with 35 or more carries against eight-plus defenders in the box qualified for these rankings (19 total running backs). We'll also make reference to a few different personnel packages and formations here, so below is a guide if you need a refresher...
11 personnel: one running backs, one tight end
12 personnel: one running back, two tight ends
21 personnel: two running backs, one tight end
22 personnel: two running backs, two tight ends
I-formation: Running backs lined up behind a fullback

1) Jay Ajayi, Miami Dolphins (6.36 yards per carry)
When Adam Gase left Jay Ajayi behind in Miami for a road trip to Seattle back in Week 1 literally no one could have predicted that he would go on to be the fourth-leading rusher in the NFL. The Dolphins were off to a 1-4 start before Ajayi's breakout 204-yard, two touchdown game in Week 6, an outing he outdid the next week by putting 214 rushing yards on the Bills. The aggressive Boise State product gave the Dolphins an identity, one in a physical mold that they never had in the Joe Philbin years.

One of the most powerful running backs in the NFL, Jay Ajayi broke tackles left and right this season while leaving defenders helpless in his wake. Naturally, as the year wore on, teams began to dedicate extra attention to Ajayi by stacking the box, but even that was not enough to slow him down. He managed an NFL-best 6.36 yards per carry against eight-plus man boxes, which he saw on 19.3 percent of his non-red zone carries. He became an expert at making the defense pay for crowding the line of scrimmage by getting loose into the secondary for big plays. Ajayi managed three runs of 20-plus yards when facing stacked boxes.

The Dolphins have to hope the long-term concerns regarding Ajayi's knee that caused him to fall to the fifth-round on draft day hold off a bit longer. They've stumbled onto, without question, one of the 10 best pure runners in the NFL.

Adekunle Ayeni

Founder, Nigerian Entertainment Today (The NET). Founder, Black House Media
Founder, ID Africa

https://static.pulse.ng/img/incoming/origs4039962/7565566006-w644-h429/unnamed.jpg

Adekunle Ayeni is a Nigerian public relations practitioner, journalist, trained scientist and businessman. He is the publisher of Nigerian Entertainment Today. He is also the founder of Black House Media, a Public Relations firm, and ID Africa, a digital marketing agency.

Adekunle Ayeni, who is from Oka-Akoko area of Ondo State, had his primary and secondary education (Awori College, Ojo) in Lagos, and proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State where he studied Microbiology and got his BSc degree.[3][4]

Adekunle Ayeni, who is referred to in Nigerian media circle as 'Ayeni the Great', made attempts to act before he opted to manage artistes then in his locality of Okokomaiko in Lagos State. He also tried organising awards and shows. A trained microbiologist, Ayeni later took up a profession in writing. He has a career path that has taken him across major media houses in Nigeria. Ayeni has narrated how he embraced writing at a secondary school age. "I started writing in secondary school because I had consumed a lot of literature. My parents had a lot of books around the house. My mum was a consumer of literature…I had read a lot and upon leaving secondary school, I knew I wanted to do literature, entertainment and all that...All though my stay in university I was always writing, so it was natural that I continued when I left.. Eventually, I got a chance to write for Encomium and within a month or two, they gave me the music column to handle."

Adekunle had a stint as a feature editor with Hip Hop World Magazine. After graduating from the University of Ibadan, he joined Encomium Weekly as showbiz columnist, after which he moved to ThisDay. In July 2008, Adekunle joined The Punch as an E-Punch columnist. "Working for Encomium I knew I wasn't going to be there for too long, I had always wanted to do my own stuff, but needed to gain some experience working for others. But because I wanted to also taste the other side of the print media, I joined Thisday newspaper and finally, The Punch. It was after that that I felt it was time for me to start my own newspaper."

Upon leaving The Punch newspaper in Lagos, Adekunle Ayeni founded Nigeria Entertainment Today (NET), a newspaper and website specially dedicated to reportage of entertainment in Nigeria, which online version was launched on 23 November 2009, and its print newspaper hit the newsstands on 26 April 2010. The "weekly print edition, printed in different locations, and circulated nationally (in over 37 towns/cities across the country)"The media platform has been organising the annual Nigerian Entertainment Conference, the umbrella conference for the Nigerian entertainment sector, which brings together all stakeholders in the industry to have a full day conversations, workshops, exhibitions and master-classes. The event, which holds in Lagos, Nigeria on Wednesday 22 April 2015, debuted in April 2013 at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos

Black House Media

https://bhmng.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/BHM-LOGO.png

Adekunle Ayeni founded Black House Media in 2006 for public relations services. In 2012, he led a team of software and content developers in Nigeria to unveil the BHM App, which is the "first PR mobile application" in Nigeria. The application has been described as "a complete resource centre for the entire media and marketing communications industries especially for the clients seeking information about PR agencies in the country." It took Ayeni and his team one year to develop the BHM App. Ayeni, in an interview he held with Raheem Akingbolu of ThisDay newspapers, said that the BHM App development was informed by "the crave for best practice. It is high time the Public Relations industry in Nigeria kept the world abreast about its stories and the great things happening in the market. It is our belief that Agencies' database, news hub, social PR, news and tips and workshop videos that would be on this application will help marketing practitioners, including journalists to be more accurate and informed." The application was unveiled at an event graced by industry experts. In February 2015, Ayeni announced the launch of his digital media agency, named ID Africa. "ID Africa aims to fill the gap left by digital marketing firms across Africa who currently offers only the most generic of marketing and digital ad services."Ayeni is a member of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), a trade sectoral group founded in 1984 for the public relations industry in Nigeria. Ayeni delivered a paper on Role of digital Public Relations in managing online communities at the 10th edition of a Master Class series organised by the association. Ayeni posited that "there is nothing like Digital PR…What we need to focus on, and talk about is Today's PR and Today's online communities. Today's PR is about story telling, about content. Today's PR is increasingly about using the understanding of the psychology of identified publics to weave our message into their minute-to-minute lives and have them thanking us for it.

The 2nd one is the athletic freak of nature, Bam Adebayo, who just got drafted to the NBA by the Miami Heat with the number 14th pick in the first round. Two Yoruba sons were selected in this year's NBA draft - Bam Adebayo and Semi Ojeleye (Celtics). However, Bam Adebayo shocked everyone at the NBA summer league with his versatility, range, skills, and fundamentals...and he's already being labelled as the steal of the draft.

His pairing with Hassan Whiteside should be an interesting one, especially with how super-weak the NBA Eastern Conference is now. But I see another perennial all star alongside his Yoruba brother, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who's already a star in the NBA and being tipped by some NBA analysts to win the NBA MVP next season. Anyway, right now, there are 5 Yoruba sons in the NBA, namely: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Oladipo, Al-Farouq Aminu, Bam Adebayo, and Semi Ojeleye.

BAM ADEBAYO

Bam Bam "Edrice" Adebayo

NBA Draft: Bam Adebayo may the biggest steal in the draft

There are two types of big men in today’s NBA. The first is a stretch big, someone who can pull behemoths away from the hoop with the threat of jumper and attack a lumbering closeout. The second is a rim-running leaper who can be physical on the boards and protect the rim. If you can find a player that can do both of those things, congratulations you have found an NBA unicorn. For the rest of the league, finding players that can fit one of those two roles is pivotal for team building in this constantly evolving spread pick and roll league. Adebayo fits the latter role perfectly. With his frame and leaping ability he can slice down the lane with a pick and roll partner to cram dunks on opponents who dare to challenge him. He showed flashes of this kind of game while at Kentucky, flying through the air for stuffs. His offensive game is very raw, but at just 19 years old there is room to develop more touch and feel in the post. Even if he never becomes a dominant post up player, the league is trending away from that type of big man anyway so he could still be a high impact player without that.

Adebayo’s incredible athletic ability makes it easy to imagine that defensively he could become the anchor of a defense, or even switch out onto smaller players. The concern for him comes from his low defensive rebounding numbers and lack of rim protection during his year at Kentucky. As strong and powerful as he is, Adebayo averaged just 6.5 defensive boards per 40 minutes according to Draft Express and only two blocked shots. The reason this does not scare me off of Bam is because he is such an explosive athlete. Feel for the game and defensive timing come with reps, and typically rookies struggle defensively regardless of position. While awareness and positioning can be taught, this kind of explosion cannot be.

Another one:

Bam Adebayo's Summer League performance making believers look smart

ORLANDO -- Any questions about what Pat Riley dug up with Bam Adebayo as the 14th pick in the Draft were answered quite succinctly on the very first day of the Orlando Summer League.

“He’s a beast,” said Okaro White, the only member of the Heat roster with NBA experience.

Over the ensuing days, Adebayo has roared, if not always shooting the ball with precision, by making his presence felt consistently with energy, confidence and a sense of where he’s going.

Through three games, the 6-foot-10 forward has averaged a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds along with 2.3 blocks per game, all while still feeling his way along. When Adebayo put it all together against the Pacers with a 29-point, 11-board game that was a couple rungs up the ladder. He rolled confidently to the hoop. His shots dropped. He took over down low. He got out in transition and demonstrated ball-handling ability by going the length of the court. He even did a Euro-step.

“Athletically and energetically, he's a beast for a 19-year-old,” said Quinn. “We're going to ask even more from him. Can he get one more rebound? Can he get one more block shot? How many extra efforts can you make that impact winning? That's what we're going to need this coming season.”

Just on a lighter note, I came across this excerpt from Tatler, a UK magazine. cheesy

“THE NIGERIANS HAVE ARRIVED!....and London is paying attention.” TATLER UK | By David Jenkins | NOVEMBER 12, 2013

You might not know Tatler, but you should. It’s one of Britain’s more upscale society magazines – which is really shorthand for elevated gossip. So when they make the point that a new set of “young moneyed Nigerians” have arrived, we pay attention.

According to Tatler, “Nigerians spend 300 million pounds annually at British Universities and schools” and they also note we are investing over 250 million pounds in British property every year. And they wouldn’t be the British press if they didn’t know, amongst other more pointed snarky statements, that “All of which might seem jarring from a country of 170 million people, 70 per cent of whom live on under £ 1.25 a day.”

Okay, so another excerpt:

"…the budding oil and property mogul Rotimi Alakija – whose mother, Folorunsho Alakija, is the richest black woman in the world (oil) and dropped £100m on four flats in One Hyde Park (‘She didn’t mess around,’ says Vedelago, who helped sell them to her) – tells me a Nigerian champagne war in an American club ended with the winner spending £1.1 m, though Rotimi Alakija certainly wasn’t there: "‘That’s just silly. It’s not part of who I am.”

They are habitual chestbeaters. They make so much noise but have absolute nothing to show for it
