"We all were in the church during the 6am morning mass today, we saw two cars that drove into the church; because it was a Church premises we over looked it and we considered them to be people that came for morning mass(service). But to the surprise of everyone, the car halted at the center of the gate, meaning you cannot close the gate, since it is open already.

"The driver came out of the car pretending he was fixing a problem; so everyone still ignored the drama happening outside the premises.

"Suddenly, some men came out from the car, fully armed, all in Army uniform. I was lucky because I was sitting at the back, just beside the door, but I was clearly seeing what was happening. The sky was cloudy and everywhere seemed dark; no one saw what they were carrying, whether it was gun, but surely they were fully equipped.

"They immediately rushed to the front door. I was too lucky to jump the fence, but before I had jumped, I heard gun shot everywhere in the building. They obstructed the front gate, because for women that is their only route to escape. That was why women were killed more than men. Children were killed as well, many were seriously injured.

"After I had escaped, I started making calls to link my church members who were in the church, but they were not picking up; not knowing they were dead already.

The gun men were not igbos, because their language were not igbo, the government should stop lying, I heard they said That, they gun Men were flashing touch light on us, but it a lie, because the whole church was so lighted that even from outside you will see who is inside. Even at that, if they were really flashing touch light to know who is their target, those that were killed, are they their target.

Like I said before and I will say it again, I was at the back door, I saw all that happened, they were with Army uniform, face covered, standing at the Front door, holding their trigger, and shooting at anything that moves.

When the police came, I was waiting for them to ask questions of what happened, so that I will explain, but they were busy taking pictures of the dead ones, without knowing the fact

"Not too long after they had gone, I went back to the church. I was shocked with what I saw; my Mother was lying dead! Many people were unconscious but later succumbed to death.

"After about one hour of the killings, the Police arrived the church. Two hours later, the Governor, Willie Obiano arrived too. Everyone was shocked, wandering how the perpetrators stormed in Army uniform. Questions began to arise: "Who gave them the Army uniform?" Who gave them the Army car?"
Surely jihad is here, and everyone have to defend him/her self.

A woman who still survived the mayhem said, "All I could remember is that I was sitting at the front when some people in Army uniform invaded the Church and started shooting at everyone. They just held the trigger and fired at everyone they sighted. I managed to hide under the seat but was shot in the leg.

"A boy was shot in head, his brain bursted, and blood spilled everywhere - even at my face."

Better late than never:

The quote for today's weekly energizer comes from Bob Proctor in his personal development program called The winner's choice: 12 power principles for winning the mind game.

As part of the introduction for the second power principle called responsibility, Bob Proctor reminded us that:
WE MIGHT EASILY DODGE OUR RESPONSIBILITY, BUT WE WILL NEVER DODGE THE CONSEQUENCES OF DODGING OUR RESPONSIBILITY.
This quote of Bob Proctor is very apt for our consideration as we begin this new week. While it might seem exhilarating after an ephemeral analysis that we are able to dodge our responsibility, the truth is that taking responsibility is where our freedom actually lies. When we take responsibility, we put ourselves in a situation where we call the shots in our own lives despite the external circumstances.

If we let ourselves off the hook and play the blame game by passing the buck, the truth is that our lives will remain whatever the person we have passed the buck to makes of it. Who can design a better life for us than ourselves? I will suggest we take responsibility for everything in our lives today so that we can enjoy the rewards sooner or later.

This analysis is correct both for individuals, families, religious organizations, corporations or communities. As the weekly energizers are not meant to be long, I will use the trending issue of the OZUBULU MASSACRE OR OZUBULU MASS KILLING to illustrate how this concept of responsibility affects organizations and communities.

Before I do the analysis, let me clearly state that I condemn the Ozubulu massacre in strongest terms. Such act is barbaric and even demonic. The mere thought of such depravity exudes utter disrespect for the sanctity of human life that will make the devil cringe. My heart goes out to all those who lost loved ones and I pray that the soul of all the faithfuls departed rest in peace! Speedy recovery I wish all those who are hospitalized.

And now for some reality 101.
I was listening to the news this morning when they were doing the news paper headline reviews. Some persons called in condemning the police and the state government for being too quick to allege that the heinous crime was perpetrated by Drug barons who are natives of Ozubulu. According to the majority of these callers, the rushed allegation smacks of a cover up. They preferred to be told that this dastard act was committed by either boko haram or the Fulani herdsmen. So much for religion and ethnicity.

[b]The truth is that the church and the community suffered in the Ozubulu massacre because they dodged their responsibility of correcting and standing against what is wrong #ItTakesAVillage. The church had the greatest responsibility and yet it floundered. Maybe that is why it was used as the stage for the Ozubulu massacre. The society now celebrates evil provided it comes with money. Recently, a flamboyant affluent young man whose source of wealth remains officially unknown was being analyzed. You need to see the amount of people saying things like "I DONT CARE IF HE DRINKS BABY BLOOD", "THOSE QUESTIONING HIS SOURCE OF WEALTH SHOULD SHUT UP ABEG", "MONEY IS KING AND LORD". ETC. I will not bore you much with more examples because most of us are already familiar with the drill. You can see just two of such threads here: EXAMPLE THREAD ONE and EXAMPLE THREAD TWO

It is this same attitude that has permeated the society and eaten deep into our moral fabric even the church. The church has refused responsibility to act as a correcting agent. It honors the highest tither and the highest donor. They get the front row seat and make the laws. Even the clergy becomes subservient if he is not so affluent but if he measures up, they become best friends. What do you expect from the congregation that looks up to the church? The church shy away from the responsibility of reproving those going astray but rather eulogize them so as to continue benefiting from their generosity. Little wonder that it cannot dodge the consequences of heaping great reproach on itself and on God's name. The church can now be a 'justifiable' theatre of political, occultic and drug wars because its benefactors are politicians, drug lords, and highly placed occultists. Little wonder that the church suffers dire consequences. Asides the painful loss of lives, you can see for yourself the magnitude of mockery the church received in the comments here: CHURCH MOCKERY OVER THE OZUBULU MASSACRE

While I am aware that warring factions sometimes kill parents who did not support their kids in their evil ways, it is also true that very few parents stand up against children whose evil ways have yielded pecuniary gains. Even while it may not be so glaring, these parents, because they have dodged their responsibility cannot dodge the consequences. For them, Lucky Dube's lyrics in reap what you sow are immortal. I have reproduced it below from AZ Lyrics:

"Reap What You Sow"

We hear you crying
So bitterly
Trying to get people to help you ye ye
But nobody will
Your son was brutalizing people everytime.
But you said nothing
Now it's the time to pay the price
It's time to pay ye ye ye ye

[Chorus:]
You gonna reap just what you sow [x4]

Coming back home
With stolen things
Instead of telling him
How wrong he was
You told him how clever he was
People coming out of burning houses
It's your son Driving stolen cars every time
It's your son,
But you said nothing
But now he's turning against you

[Chorus:]
You gonna reap just what you sow [x3]

Everybody knows
No jail can keep him
'Cause you rubbing shoulders with the law
But now it's time to pay the price wo... woh

[Chorus: till fade]
You gonna reap just what you sow

As we conclude the weekly energizer for this week, take this lesson with you:
WE MIGHT EASILY DODGE OUR RESPONSIBILITY, BUT WE WILL NEVER DODGE THE CONSEQUENCES OF DODGING OUR RESPONSIBILITY.
Also remember that until parents, churches, etc reclaim their responsibility of speaking out against evil without fear or favour, they can never dodge the consequences of their laxity! Rip to those massacred in ozubulu and may God grant those they left behind the fortitude to bear the loss. Have a blessed week.

Biafrans need to start protecting themselves and their families(parents, brothers, sisters, children) from jihadist. Nigeria government and politicians are uncivilised and arrogant.

Not the mouths they used during their campaigns to develop this and that when giving opportunity to serve, they are using now.

In civilised country government CCTVs will capture all the facts and evidences. But Nigeria government and politicians are making it the point of their duties in stealing taxpayers money meant to provide security infrastructures for themselves.

Why can't Nigeria states governments used security votes they have been receiving to fixed CCTVs everywhere in their various states

If not that the whole world knew that IPOB don't killed even in their protests, they are only using their mouths to demanding for Biafra Republic restoration. The Nigeria politicians and government would have start using them as scapegoats.

Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has decried the senseless massacre of the worhsipers at St Philips church Anambra state.

Fayose who too to his Twtter handle to send his condolence to the people and government of Anambra state, expressed his feelings in an emotional message.

In one of the tweets, he questioned: "what is wrong with us as a people?"

First Hand Information On What Happened At Anambra State Today, As Ejike Ofoegbu Arrived Anambra From Aba

Please over look the police report, Ejike Ofoegbu said
Loveth Gift narrated

I don't understand how u people in this cursed Nigeria reason.
There is drug war in SA,and shootings spread to this remote village in Igboland.
why are they covering up.A witness is saying something else, some mumus on nairaland are taking it for jokes or lies.If it was a revenge or payback,
d drug Lord has himself and family members
of whom I don't think it will be difficult to locate.
From what I know about all these drug fights, they try as much as limit it to themselves and family members. To me all these scenario is being politicize. Let's be careful. This type of mayhem cannot happen in bigger churches, cause the security is tight.
May d Lord take control.RIP to the dead.May their spirits hunt and exposo those behind this bastardly and inhuman act.

Truly the news caption should be igbo gunmen attack church in Anambra and killed 11, injured 18. Rather than the hypocritic "gunmen" attack Church caption annoyingly flying around.
I no wan hear say Hausa Fulani herdsmen tomorrow? We know were the stink is oozing from.
The action is totally condemnable and I sympathize with the bereaved.
