Many thanks for your kind gestures and selfless service @ olanrewaju, your types are what we need here. And for all those who are more intrested in what they can get rather than what they can give, God is watching u all.

Some people here after getting tons of advice and info, fail to share their experience when they succeed or attend interviews. Just can't imagine how selfish people could be.

For those seeking 4 private responses to their problems without dropping a line to enlighten others, well done.

Guess we need to address some of this attitudes for future purposes.

No, I did not even have any German Cert., since my programme is an English thought programme.

But what does the schools requirement states concerning your own programme?

My programme is also English taught but requires german knowledge but if you don't have FHWS teaches german for the first 2 semesters and you will attain level A2 before getting to the 2nd year.

I'm just patiently waiting for FHWS to reply my email.

Who is asking for the A2 German Cert., If it is the Embassy, go to the Schools Webpage, where the Application requirement for your course is

Copy the requirements (Where it was stated that A1 is sufficient for your 1 & 2nd Semester)

And send to the Embassy. That should also be enough if i-Campus did not reply you.

FOR OVER 2 WEEKS NOW, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR VISA INTERVIEW APPOINTMENT DATE WITH THE GERMAN EMBASSY. PLEASE, CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT...I NEED HELP. I CANT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS ADMISSION.
How exactly are you looking? I mean you should contact the German embassy if you have an acceptance letter from a university in Germany already. Once you contact them they will give you appointment for submission of documents and interview. Long story cut short, check this article it might help - there's also a link to German embassies and representatives around the world depending on where you're applying from. The article is just for educational purpose only, they don't issue visa. http://www.myafricansabroad.com/germany-visa-requirements/

I do not think this is what @sammolarge19 is asking. His post is related to the current challenge applicants are facing with booking appointments at the embassy.

Private insurance is the cheapest health insurance and goes at the range of 30 euro upwards while Public, on the other hand, is expensive, goes at the range of 92 euro upwards but comes with better packages when compared to private health insurance. Have it the back of your mind that your medicine won't cover you throughout your stay in Germany, make your decision wisely. Hope this helps.

Thanks, might just go with TK, don't like the online reviews about the private insurers

There isn't much that can be done. At the end of the day, the situation in each country influences how these "developed" nations make their decisions.
USA and Canada, even with your money, have been less friendly than Germany over the years.

If the Consulate continues to ignore requests for students to be interviewed in Abuja, that's probably because there is an order from Berlin.

I urge everyone to be diplomatic and civil with this issue.

Hopefully they reconsider, but there are already signs that things are going to change.

Congratulations on the Hamburg news...hopefully we catch up in Hamburg (if that's your top choice)

Good luck!

I sympathize with folks who have not been able to get booked for interview. The German government continues to implement policies that would reduce the number of students coming in.

Last year they increased the minimum monthly disposable from €670 to €720.

They have thus far refused to budge on the "no more dates" decision. Now followed by a 25% increase in visa fees.

Here in Germany, states including Baden Wertturmberg, Nord Rhein Westfalen and Thuringia have either implemented or are debating tuition fee era.

In addition, the number of Auslanderbehorder/foreign offices insisting on blocking of account for residence permit extension is increasing.

I do not really know what the situation is for others, especially people coming from non-african countries, but it appears that the German state is trying to reduce its financial commitment to University education (for internationals).

Nobody can say exactly what is on their mind. But for new applicants, please try and apply early...even to schools/courses you might not like...Use it for visa app and move to your choice school (with late admission) when you arrive here.

Good luck!
Uncle Judas,

Although you are known to be a mentally unstable character, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and address your ego with "civility".

Yes, Bafög was increased by 9.7% last year, and it impacted on the overall minimum for every student, but that (still) doesn't have a direct correlation to how much students (both bafög beneficiaries and normal students) spend on the average every month. But what it did do was increase the total bloackable amount for incoming international students, and for those coming from developing country, that was totally unnecessary.

Anybody that was here last year can testify to that. People were not happy about it.

So, yes! A statutory increase in the "standard of living" for students here in Germany, will always have a direct effect on students not yet in the system.

Oya, come and rant again. Just be rest assured that this time, I will fucck your nose.

Hello @Reneawable0216,

First off, I will have to say sorry, but we are all experiencing the same thing.

After reading your post I felt really sad... But have you tried to weigh the situation and that procedures and policies change in various countries?

Are you kidding me that you are going to flood twitter handles quote politicians even the acting president
just German consulate has not decided to responded to emails on appointments? (now I was really taken aback and felt ashamed). It's looking more like the protest is farther than just wanting to school in Germany, I perceive!

I beg of us let's act wisely when we do things and stop making this Germans look so less on us. Come to think of if, a German can say if you push this much you can as well apply to a US school and getting scholarship or get non tuition free school in other part of Europe.

My Friend applied to a university in Frankfurt for PhD, after weeks of waiting, exchanging research topics with his supervisor, suddenly a mail came in and state sorry we can't continue with the admission process as the German as regulation has told them to pay attention to its citizens and remain mute about it! This was in March 2017. In April TUMunich did same thing applicants pursuing a PhD must have been a graduate from TUM.

I applied to confederation college in Canada what you are experiencing for Germany happened to me, I have even paid a 110$ application fee, until the coordinator said this (Unfortunately, we do require minimally a Second Class, Upper Division for admission to our post-graduate level programs in Engineering. This was set after recent discussions with immigration and other partners who work in Nigeria.)

If you have applied to a Canadian school you will understand that 2'2 goes for PGD I had gotten Conestoga and Lambton in 2016 but couldn't continue due to finance.

We on Canadian thread didn't floor the Canadian ambassador mails. We on the Canadian thread can tell you from August 2016 to February 2017 90percent of Nigerian applicants were refused because of changes in immigration policies, it is their country and can change the laws doesn't matter to the Nigerian president!

Why am I grieved? Please lets take decisions with wisdom so as not to kill other opportunities.... They have every right to do what they wish to do! Let's be diplomatic and have faith with prayers.

They will send appointment replies very soon before August ends by God's grace.... Be hopeful.

Sending disturbing mails can put them in distress and conclude not to go ahead don't you think?

In my opinion, quit the idea of social media protest, one thing you should know is that Germans does care like Americans too don't.

Sorry, for the long epistle! God bless us all, if it's His will to make it manifest no man can shut it.

Let's thread with caution!! I stand to be corrected too.

Cheers!

Hello guys,

I trust everyone is having a great day.

In the light of the recent rejection of Student Visa application from the Embassy...It's obvious our only hope of getting them to re-think their stand is to involve our Legislators and Govt Officials.

I've read that some other Asian countries are facing similar challenge but he truth is Nigerians are the only ones in Africa. The Embassy in Accra attends to 3 countries and it's still open till probably September if not longer...so that argument does not hold water.

In nut, myself and couple of guys have thought it right to get the attention of well-meaning Nigerians to wedge in on our case and call the Embassy to act right.

An article has been put up and we need to flood our Social media handles with this information! LIKE FLOOD IT TILL THEY WOULD HAVE TO RESPOND TO IT.

I believe everyone on this platform should ACTIVELY participate in this; not only those who are yet to get interview dates.
VICTORY FOR ONE IS VICTORY FOR ALL.

This is a case of some people choosing to crush our dreams and aspirations, we shouldn't fold our arms!

If you really believe in result, then LET'S GO ALL OUT TO TWEET and RETWEET, write / share the blog url, Write on facebook, Call that Uncle and Friend in positions of authority.

Copy the President and Osibanjo, all Senators- Murray Bruce, Abike Dabiri, Dino Melaye...ALL OF THEM! , The House of Rep, Media Houses, Linda, Sahara Reporters and every other person you can.

THIS IS ABOUT OUR FUTURE...waiting one year after all the emotional, financial stress and hard work done to get the admission shouldn't go down the drain...

WE ARE THE YOUTH, WE MUSTN'T JUST ALLOW PEOPLE PEDDLE WITH OUR LIVES.

I hope this plea will resonate with everyone here...Even those that have gotten interview dates and those who are yet to even apply.

We need you to make this a reality. The likes, share, re-tweet, copy would go a lonnnnng way!

#Winter17 is possible!

Impossible is nothing!

This post is a joke. The German government owes you NOTHING!! they have their policies and the only people they owe it to serve are Germans. They didn't ask you to apply for education in their country, so they're not liable for any costs incurred on your part. instead of copying gbogbo ti gbogbo to help you with schooling in Germany, tell them to fix the shitty education here so we won't have to start looking for quality education elsewhere.

You won't demand this kind of accountability from your government, it's Germany you want accountability from. Mshew. Please delete this nonsense.

Hello guys,

@dobeespen and uchevolata, exactly my thoughts i couldn't agree more with both of you

We live and have been in a country that has done nothing but deprive us Nigerians of our basic existence, we've not had quality education from our glorified secondary schools (universities) and then the thought that a country whose leaders and public office holders have put a system in place and have considered that this should benefit foreigners should be called to explain reasons why they have put policies in place? Beats my imagination.

Its really saddening to know that your so called representatives who represent themselves only in public offices have there children schooling abroad with public funds. I imagine they will laugh hard and loud at your e-mail and frustrate your efforts to emerge from this bondage called Nigeria.

May i inform those who want to go flooding the German consulate with classless e-mails that you may be shooting yourselves in the leg and ruining the chances of others. Before you go ahead with your planned protests, be reminded that our predecessors on this thread never flooded any German consulate with protest e-mails. Most of them had to take another shot after an initial disappointment and are in Germany today schooling. Most persons who applied early received admissions early enough, opened their blocked accounts early, funded early and applied for visa appointments early. Most got there appointments early and have gone for their interviews or are waiting. They were early.

The German consulate and Government deserve praise and commendation from Nigerians and Nigerian Students for giving us world class education free. let us flood their e-mails instead with notes of commendation for the policies that make us have access to the quality education that we can never get in Nigeria.

Let us instead flood the e-mails of our Governors, Senators, local government chairmen and house of assembly members demanding an overhaul of our educational system in Nigeria as well as other infrastructures. Then and only then will we be taking the bull by the horn and fighting the right foe for a JUST COURSE.

No hard feelings, my sympathy and empathy goes out to all those affected, but we should all remember that opportunity will come and go. The worst we can do for ourselves is shut the door against opportunity. Please and please leave it open, your siblings, or friends might benefit.

A word is enough for the wise.
