I decided to begin this thread due to the incessant deaths as a result of malaria/typhoid, just for a short while, i learnt of several deaths as a result of this, an example is of a Nairalander Firstking01, though i have not personally come across this moniker before, it really hurts when young lives are abated. So this brings about the big question: " How can such deaths be avoided?" Please health experts and knowledgeable persons should contribute.

I think it boils down to our negligent attitude to health ie health appreciation.
Let's not even get on about prevention cos that's a very long short, but when we notice symptoms, we first go spiritual. After 3daya and symptoms worsen, we visit the local chemist (or quack hosp) who mixes a number of drugs for us. After 3days we still don't feel well then we get rushed to the hospital in a terrible state (severe /cerebral malaria).
All this while, the bug has been digging trenches, fortifying its position and firing unreplied bombs at our immune system.
This is a scenario I see everyday at the hospital, pathetic.
