A baby boy born with his intestine out of his body last week in Kontagora, Niger state, has successfully undergone a surgery to place them back into his body.

Doctors at the state general hospital were surprised when the baby came out from his mom's womb with all his intestine sticking out. A philanthropist in the state sponsored the operation and the boy is currently recuperating at a specialist hospital in the state.

watched this in Grey's Anatomy where they used a silicon bottle to gather and suspend the intestines until they all entered into the stomach then it was sewn shut.

Something tells me that this sort of operation should have been carried out in a foreign hospital; Where the child can get good medical services. God bless the man who sponsored this...

What's the nylon for?

I salute the medical team that worked hard to make this operation a success. They have successfully done what the so called "miracle worker" could not and can never do. Without them, this child wouldn't have survived. This child is a testimony to what science and logical reasoning can do.

Once again, cuddles to the medical team.

See the stress pain and trauma people who need babies including their baby go through. Those who had theirs without stress dump them in gutters and toilets. May God Forgive us all and make us repent of our sinful life and make the world a better place for us. Amen!

He has Gastroschisis. He'll be fine.

It's omphalocele since it has a peritoneal covering and it's projecting through a defect in the umbilicus

Gastrochisis.....a little different from Omphalocele

Gastroschisis is a birth defect in which the baby's intestines extend outside of the body through a hole next to the belly button. ... It differs from omphalocele in that there is no covering membrane over the intestines. Treatment involves surgery.

gastroschisis, that's what medical personnel call it, but Nigerian doc don't know anything about this because they are are busy becoming MMM guiders. It's a defect in the abdominal wall. If they had studied embryology, they would have known these things. Who am I to question MMM guiders?
