People often criticize glo network for being the worst internet provider but for me it has been the best, I agree location plays a huge role considering how mtn is so terrible in my location, etisalat is tolerable and airtel is actually cool(up to 2m/s on 3G which unfortunately doesn't provide 4G service and exaggerate data usage to cheat you from what I've heard)

For glo 3G, I used to get 400-750kb/s on average and 900kb to a little over 1mb/s on a good day, 200-300kb/s on bad days. I coped well cos I got 200% of my recharge as bonus and get cheap data.

Since I switched to a 4G/lte sim, it's been a different story, cheap data, fast connection by Nigerian standard and my 200% bonus I use for calls while I use main account balance to subscribe.
It's usually 3-6mb/s on average download speed and Up to 9Mb/s on very good days but today I got a surprise, 12mb/s this morning and while I was still excited about it, I got 43mb/s later same morning (downloaded 438mb in about 8 seconds)

So as far as I'm concerned, glo is the best for me especially since I enjoy about same service at Home and at my work Place... Lucky coincidence but I'm glad.

I think people deserve to know that some of us are actually enjoying glo internet service.

Still doesn't justify anything. Sincerely, Glo has a long way to go in delivering consistent Internet service.

Glo sucks
Take it as a testament cheesy

I figured since we see the negative feedback all the time including nairaland front-page, it's good to actually admit it when it's impressive by Nigerian standard, either way, I didn't make any of it up, just my experience.

That I agree, even in calls but it's good to admit it's not 100% bad

Its better to publicly criticized GLO for them to improve.

If you knew simple arithmetic, you'd know 43mb/s will download 400mb in a matter of less than 10seconds not 8 minutes.

I meant to type seconds actually, was a slip on my path, if you aren't so conceited, you'd have asked about it or draw my attention to it and not come at me like a starved angry lion desperate to be recognized over a simple primary school math.

Believe me it's not! I know I'm not the only one that would have experienced this, i wish someone else that has experienced it would come out with pictorial evidence like I did. Unfortunately I know that will be like searching for a needle in a haystack judging by their reputation. By the way, even though I get at least 5k bonus to call any network every month from my monthly data recharge, there are times calling on the network gets really frustrating that I use my other sim Ignoring the bonus still there.

Glo is trying there best with there cheap call rates, assuming they can get internet speed with more than 1mb/s it will be good

Glo 4g is very good around Port Harcourt and Warri. Early last month I downloaded a copy of Windows 10 software of 4.3gb in less than 20mins around Uniport axis, PH.

Oga, that speed up there isn't real. You can't get 43 megabytes per second on a mobile network. 4G or not. Except that indicator up there measures your bandwidth speed in "megabits". 43 megabits is equivalent to 5.4 megabytes. Bits and bytes are two different things. Take note.

Who are you to blame then,if not Glo? Even your 4g at 43mb/sec just happened to be it at that period of time.

I had subscribed on Glo 3 times; my experience with it was so bad. Just only work in some few areas, which I later ended up sharing the data to some numbers because of its egregious network.

In most areas, switching your Glo to "4g only" makes your Glo line lost signal for days.

I am off subscribing on Glo. Gone back to MTN, doing it well for me.

shocked Did you see the mb/s? How do you explain 438mb download in under a minute?
BTW I'm a lady. You do know that some countries get up to 200mb/s right? We are so used to the mediocre service that this is difficult to accept.

Countries get up to 200mb/s but not on a mobile network. Even in the US the average download speed on a 4G mobile network isn't up to to 10MB/s. Do you research.

Fine then! I did get that and got that download under a minute, maybe the tech gurus can explain what happened other than a misinterpretation of what megabyte is cos I know what that is.
Re: I Got 43m/s Download Speed On GLO 4G/LTE(pic) by dustmalik: 9:47am On Aug 13, 2017
OP, what you have up there is your total internet speed, also known as downlink speed, not download speed. Divide your downlink speed by 8, gives you the download speed. In this case, that would be about 5.3MB/s.

Only a few wireless networks in the world can achieve the download speed you're suggesting. By the way, even if you find a network capable of such speed, your Camon CX can't utilize such speed. You would require a Cat 9 or 12 LTE device. As far as I know, Camon CX is a Cat 4 LTE device.

Fine! Either way, I finished the download under a minute and probably why the phone's system UI didn't respond for a while during and after the download was completed, I had to wait for about a minute or 2... See the pic below
