I commend this thread, have followed and read from Part 1 and at Part 3 put in application for PhD admission (last week of May). Received reply that my documents were ok but this week I got mail from the school that of the two professors with expertise in the field I applied, none was able to indicate interest to supervise my proposed study as a PhD student, hence I won't be admitted. It's painful considering the effort and money spent but the help here and testimonies are enough to keep one's spirit high, ready to correct what I think went wrong (proposal).
To everyone rendering help here (I mean people like eke47, honorableseyi,Jigba, Justwise, etc) know that you are appreciated and inspiring great number of people in the real world (off the internet) because alot follow without commenting or even registering on Nairaland. Weldone to all for not allowing the thread to be derailed!

Meine Meinung
Apply for masters in ur desired field
Get a visa hopefully.,travel to Germany and start applying for your PhD while looking for supervisors.
PhD isn't all about studies guy ,don't know about Germany but in US,u get some grants while doing your PhD,so it's more like work and u get paid for it.and u need to be better than a lit of applicants.
I believe the master'a route will be quite ok.
Atleast u will get to know how the system works over there.
Don't forget ""sometimes we have to take a step backward in order to move foward.

Babes, I really wanna appreciate ur input here.

It's not easy to help ppl at dis stage wen everyone wanna be sure even when u give dem the right information.

Am guilty of not always online to help out in my own capacity but my head full, but I promise dat after my interview i'd be checking in once in a while.

But one good advise to summer guys, u need to silently go back to d last chapter, read a lot of processes of application questions and answer and testimonies, then u'd ve a lot of insight den u come get clarification.

It wnt be too long, u'd be d ones helping ur mates.

And those who wish to go for winter 2018, pls apply to uni dis summer oh! Even if it's not ur choice but a related course would do.
Get ur letter, deffer little before deadline den get a winter one which u can use to book for interview earlier and wait for ur desired course for winter.

And also to avoid these issues of booking out.

I don't understand the part where you said we should differ a little so we can get desired course for winter.

Tnks bro for the reply..God bless you..!!

I think I will just go for “Msc Information system,TUM” or Msc Information Technology at University of stuggart... I'm so passionate about IT..Worked hard to acquire much skills.. Above all, since IT is king in germany, then the prospect of getting a good job is very bright....
One last question bro: Hope I'm on track as a Bsc holder of accounting degree going for Msc in information system/technology..
On paper, it is gonna be difficult to get a place with a Bachelor in Accounting. But you can contact schools that you are interested in.

Good luck

Good morning House,

I am scheduled to have a Skype interview next week Thursday for MSc. Transportation Systems at TUM.

Please is there anyone with helpful information or tips regarding what to expect?
I would really appreciate your inputs.

Thanks in anticipation.

MSc Transportation System...we are in the same shoe but I have been admitted and enrolled. I'll drop a guide on how the interview will be graded. if you want the PDF just PM me. I can't post all here because it's voluminous but for the benefit of others on this platform I'll post the needed part for the aptitude Interview for MSc Transportation systems as stated in the Pdf.

The aptitude interview is held individually for each applicant. The interview lasts at least 20 minutes and 30 minutes at maximum. Contents of the interview are the following main topics:

1. The exceptional motivation and commitment for the Master of Science Program in Transportation Systems pursuant to the criteria mentioned in no. 2.3.3 for the evaluation of the motivation letter,
Note: Just like @ dejx rightly said...Ensure you understand your motivation letter, the one you wrote during your application for admission.

2. Reflecting own talents and skills and connecting them with the objectives of the Master’s program – with regards to the offered fields of study (specialization) within the Master’s program,

3. Explanations about the topic of the final thesis of the Bachelor’s program.

4. Basic and implementation-related questions from the field of transportation engineering for evaluation of the technical qualifications.

My advice: If you are for 17/18 winter session...after the interview, result out and you're admitted. immediately you get a congratulatory mail on admission, ensure you mail the school about the visa appointment issue at German consulate in Nigeria. Just in case the embassy refuses to give out more appointment dates for 17/18 winter admissions, you can defer the admission in order not to loose the opportunity.

If ur enrollment deadline is 20 March, on the 18 or 19th, u send dem a mail to deffer your admission till winter telling dem u can't make it cos of situations.

Don't even waste your time and resources on that (Msc in information system/technology) except you apply for a BSc. Information System.

There are alot of students who even have BSc. in Infor. Sys. who could not gain admission not to talk of someone who has no study background

in Info. Sys/Tech.

Even in Nigeria do you think you will be allowed to just change like that without doing like a Diploma or PgD. Not to now talk of Germany where they don't take chances at all.

Well there is no harm in trying tho.

My Own Opinion: Apply for a BSc. in Info. Sys. (If you have Passshocked Hion(In Arsene Wenger's voice) for it)
Or
Apply for courses like MSc. Financial Engineering or MSc. Actuarial and Financial Mathematics which also have

high concentrated level of IT skills. Am sure of Financial. Eng you will program well like say tomorrow no dey in R, C/C++ as well as some

Database Querying in MySQL, NoSQL, MongoDB. etc.

Mate, the ball is in your court.

The choice is yours.
promscharles:

Bro.... I disagree with you o. It is not possible to receive am mail in 5 working days after ones interview except it's probably a non-student visa application. The least seen so far is 2 weeks
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by kag1: 8:51pm On Aug 13, 2017
Jenny123 go for your interview. The embassy that gave you that date know what they are doing.
Do your best and leave the rest for God.
three weeks is long enough to get your visa.
Once you get the AM mail, get your insurance, buy your ticket, mail the embassy explaining to them that you need to travel on time because of your deadline.
They will call you to come for stamping.
I have seen people who got their visa on their passport right there at the embassy without waiting for the 7 days as suggested by the embassy and then traveled the next day.
If you know how to pray, pray well, fund and go for your interview, or better still you can wait till after your interview and fund within two days if you aren't sure of how your interview will turn out.

so what do u think? Is it possible I will get a reply from them within two weeks becos my sch enrolment deadline is 20th Oct. I have waited for this admission and I can't risk letting it slip pass me

I'd PM you so we can link up.

Hello Everyone,

Having gone thru series of posts by veterans and the newbies, I must commend y'all for a job well done so far, I also felicitate with those who recently secured their Visas to DE and to those of us waiting to share our testimony in no distant time, I pray we'll all be celebrated soonest.

I just need an explicit clarification about the max eligibility age range to qualify one for a Master's programme in DE.

Thanks in anticipation for your articulated response.

Pls someone should help do justice to the question above.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Honestly, there are no Age Limit Restrictions as to studying in DE.

Except for Bafog (Student Loans/Financial Aid 4 Students) where only BSc. students must be under 30yrs bfor they can get loan &

Postgrad Student must be under 35 yrs.

Anyways the Embassy myt want to drill you as to know why you are going for a BSc or MSc at a certain Age. But that shouldn't be a problem if

you have a genuine Intention.
