Recall that last year, MTN introduced two call tariff plans, the MTN Xtra Pro amd Xtra Special tariff plan. MTN Xtra Pro tariff plan was touted the cheapest call tariff plan on the network.

Subscribers on MTN Xtra Pro have the ability to make both off-net and on-net calls within the country at a flat rate of 11K/S (N6.60K/Min) upon successful deduction of N5 deduction in a day, also called access charge. Thus makes the MTN Xtra Pro the cheapest call tariff plan on the network.

Unfortunately, MTN secretly eliminated this call tariff plan from its list of tariff plans, which by implication means the call tariff plan will no longer available for migration, in case you are still interested.

According a source from the company, the migration into MTN XtraPro and MTN TruTalk has been discontinued since April 5, 2017. Customers can only migrate into the following plans:
MTN Pulse
MTN XtraSpecial
MTN BetaTalk
MTN XtraValue

MTN customers will NO LONGER be able to migrate to any of the below tariff plans, BUT customers on these plans will be able to migrate out of these plans to other available tariff plans.
MTN TruTalk (Old)
MTN BetaTalk(Old)
MTN SuperSaver
MTN SmoothTalk
MTN iPulse
MTN Zone

However, customers who are currently on any of these MTN Tariff plans above will remain on the plan but will not be allowed to migrate back into the plan(s) after successfully migrating out.

Before April 5, 2017, the code for migration into the MTN Xtra Pro tariff plan was *401#, but currently, if you choose to dial the code and hoping to go back to the Xtrs Pro plan, you will get a prompt telling you that you are already existing MTN Pulse tariff plan, as well as giving you the correct MTN Pulse menu code which is *406#.

you are right. forget everything this telecos post online about their tariff. the best way to know the actual cost is to calculate the costs yourself after each call.

It's a tough world, Nigerians are super gullible.

Money has to be made even if it means screwing them over.

These thieves are in cahoots with the thieves in NCC and milking us without empathy.

Our major problem in this country is that the government and regulatory agencies are all out to make matters worse instead of to ameliorate situations. It is time we all come out on the streets to protest about everything and take back our country. Our silence all these while amounts to agreement with our plight.

I can't blame them, our government is not helping any sector in Nigeria. All policies they enact are only to factor themselves alone (Govt). Imagine how much this firms spend on fueling their mast stations alone, talking about paying staff, adverts and also partaking in some community development projects for their host country. If there are basic amenities like steady electricity, there would have been better offer form these network providers. Yet its the masses having greater impact of all this. Nigerians pay for virtually everything for the electoral leaders even to the point of Newspapers allowance that they barely have time to read. MTN and other network providers are not Non-Profit organisations, they also need to make profits. So lets concentrate more on our weaker government system. In every countries of the world, Nigerians pay more for communications charges due to our government in-sensitivities.

We need to go back to our roots when we use to open calabash or stir earthened pot filled with water, to make voice and video calls and same time browse the world.

And it's actually possible to influence a caller on the network. Positively or negatively!
