For his information, the bible refers to alcoholic drinks as STRONG DRINK while normal drinks/non alcoholic are called wine. So saying Jesus attended a wedding where alcohol is been drunk is plainly blasphemy.


Though I don't believe that a pastor should dictate what his members must wear or not wear but pastor Adeboye own his church he has the right to ban and un-ban what he feels will be better for his church..

The Church, Pastor or Pastor Mrs Adeboye never placed a ban on Aso - Ebi, Contrary to what is being circulated in the media, the emphasis is on not using Aso-Ebi as a yardstick for participation, invitation, involvement etc in any of church programmes as is being done in some churches where they don't care if you can afford it or not.
In other words, all forms of discrimination in the church of God based on Aso-Ebi should stop.

Oga Freeze, the Asoebi that was banned is the one used in the church for church programs e.g. Women programs, usher programs etc, they usually sew Ankara (asoebi) and mandate every member to wear to these programs. This is what was banned in RCCG. Stop misleading people

I think Daddy Freeze got the whole thing wrong.The reason for the ban was actually given, as people who could not afford such clothing materials are segregated against.On the other hand ,the church should just advise against such practices rather than an outright ban.I have seen people made to feel bad because of their inability to purchase new uniforms in church as ushers and choir members.Everything should be done in love.

Now I know this freeze is a very big fool seeking cheap attention. So he cant read and comprehend properly?I am not of rccg but I know they never banned aso-ebi. The GO's wife said they should not stop those who dont have it or cant afford it from participating in functions of de church, or they stop it entirely- which means no discrimination bcs of aso-ebi and they should stop some ungodly practices like using lies to extort money during weddings. Aso Ebi is no sin but when it becomes a basis for admitting people into some gatherings or participating in some activities it becomes a problem. In churches these days you see people (especially women) missing services cos they couldn't afford Aso Ebi

Pentecostal churches can give unbiblical rules and go Scot free; but they will all be acting holier than thou if it is Catholic.

Pentecostal churches aren't better than Catholics in any way.

It seems Freeze has a personal vendetta against Pastor Adeboye because he's always looking for ways to antagonize him. If Freeze had read the piece regarding 'Aso ebi' objectively he would have understood the message Pastor Adeboye and his wife were conveying. There's absolutely nothing wrong in wearing aso ebi or asking friends and families of a celebrant to purchase aso ebi for an occasion. However, it becomes bad when people are forced / cajoled to buy aso ebi for an event when they probably didn't plan on buying it. I've heard of stories of people (women mostly) who borrowed money to buy aso ebi. Furthermore, it is worse when at events people who didn't or couldn't purchase the aso ebi for that event are in some cases completely ignored or given very little attention. So I think the underlying message is that people should focus on the occasion they are celebrating; and stop attaching too much importance to aso ebi.

Aso ebi is traditional. Aso ebi is part of our culture. It makes the wedding beautiful and colorful.

It isn't by force to wed in redeem, there are other churches, there are courts too.
