[quote author=LaGrace post=59490485]Unless you're in a hurry and you have an idea of what the insufficient funds is about, I will advise you to order for gcms notes. Insifficents funds can constitute a whole lot and not necessarily not having money. Your notes can tell u exactly what the officer is looking for.
To answer your question, I believe a detailed sponsorship letter showing the relationship with proof of birth certificates should do it. My opinion, I don't how it works in Nigeria, but in Ghana that should do. Wishing you all the best

Thanks @LaGrace I have already ordered for my gcms note. Getting their birthday certificates is a little bit hard.

Good day everyone, I just started my NYSC and I wish to do my Masters in a Canadian University immediately after the NYSC scheme, I finished at Unilag with a Second Class Lower, 2.66/5.0 in which I studied Microbiology.

Please is it possible to do Msc directly with my grade and what steps do I need to take to apply.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by dapoddon: 11:59am On Aug 15, 2017
Yeah, I had too. The issue I had was on their insistence on seeing the cash. With other border agents, they just ask how much cash you have on you and don't create a scene out of it. From another perspective though they might be reacting based on experience. It's all good anyway.
Great person you are Sir. Your brother was full of praises.

@dapoddon: how did you convince them to let you check in? Did you have to find the $1000 cash?

Hello everyone, please I have a question to ask. My visa was delayed on 3rd august on grounds of insufficient funds, I posted my profile before the house same day. I want to reapply & in order to tackle is reason for refusal, I would be adding a cosponsor who is ready to show commitment in my next application.

My question: how do I establish/prove relationship between me & my cosponsor? She's my mum's maternal cousin.

Thanks in advance for your response
Please have you gotten your gcms note to know the exact reason(s) behind the denial? if yes then you can reapply. on your sponsor, the best way to proof to the vo is your sponsor paying your tuition fee to your school and also your living expenses into your personal account or pay both into you account (that's if your schools doesn't accept tuition fee until trv has been approved ). it if you can get a proof to show where your mum and her cousin share same surname (family name ) then you can use it but if you can't get that then let her just pay the funds to you and you will be good to go

You should. Use all the avenue given to avoid 'we don't have your document on file'.. This is a common line when they want to show themselves.

Quick observation
Was reading through this thread searching for the nursing course I am going for, visas were approved within one to two weeks as at 2015, things have really changed like they became wiser overtime by delaying people's app or over checking because I am trying to understand, what I know is the moment a VO goes through an app for 10mins, he/she knows if the applicants visa will be granted, why delay people & create unnecessary scare, U.K gets loads of applications too but their 3wks is 3wks, or a month at most, God help us the hopefuls, the wait is killing and to think resumption is just in 3weeks....positive news all the way I pray, stay blessed all!

Please for the online applicant, does anyone have any idea as to how one can find out where his or her application is been processed? whether it is outside Canada or not? My question is premise on situation whereby one need to send a Case Specific Inquiry.

For Future Applicants

Paper Route (the best way to submit a Canada study permit application with zero worries)

MAKE SURE YOU SUBMIT EARLY LIKE 5 MONTHS TO RESUMPTION DATE

1) Make sure all your academic docs are photocopies

2) Only Bank statement and all letters addressed to CIC should be original

3) Don't submit your passport (you might need it for other travels with faster results)

4) Link your application online

5) Live your life and check your account once a week (preferably Saturday night)

6) Pray and don't worry about the application

Note : All other documents should be photocopies
Medical Examination is optional (upfront or wait for permission to do so)
And most importantly live like you didn't submit an application

Because Canadian study permit question now is like "How old is your application?"

DON'T STRESS YOURSELF

Cheers!!

After linking my application online and decide not to check on it again will the notification come on my mail if my visa is approved and dispatched?

Hahahahaha @ 'mission to relocate his entire family to Canada". grin

Yeah my bro told me that yesterday an employee of Egypt Air at the airline counter asked him that he must show that he has $1000 cash on him because he has a one-way ticket. The Nigerian employee of the airline said that Egypt Air doesn't want to foot the bill in case he is sent back at the Port of Entry; the employee said that this is because the airline has had to foot a lot of such bills for student visa holders lately lately (don't know if they are lying or not).

Regardless, it sounds extremely illegal for an airline to behave this way. They didn't allow my bro to check-in until he asked them if he could instead sign a letter of undertaking saying he'd foot the bill should he be sent back home at the POE. This is completely ridiculous. It even sounds like an attempted extortion where if you show the cash the employee takes a portion of it to enrich his pocket.

Anyone who experiences this should not let them deny you check-in. If it's possible, take a video on the incident, make a post of this illegal activity on Twitter or Instagram and mention the International Aviation body on Twitter (@IATA), Guardian Nigeria (@guardiannigeria), and Transport Canada (@Transport_gc), etc. Mention that your flight was booked from Lagos to Toronto or wherever.

Better yet, assert yourself and don't let the airline bully you.

@dapoddon: how did you convince them to let you check in? Did you have to find the $1000 cash?

I totally agree with you bro, a lady had similar experience. In her case she doesn't have up to $30 I wonder how a student could travel with less than $30grin the airline asked to check her documents and they discovered she is on one way ticket. Na so dem vex for her o and told her to go and book return ticket before they can attend to her (someone on 2years visa and with just $20 cash) lol. Fortunately for her she was able to get in touch with a known worker who bailed her out by pleading to then to allow her go. I don't know the problem of we Nigerians, we go too extreme . When we got to Cairo the officer asked her to show her PTA and she told him she had nothing on her that she is depending on one of her bro in Manitoba ,the man never question her further and she was allowed. At mm airport after showing them my PTA they also asked for my evidence of enrollment (original admission letter) the drill was too much then I tot I was already at the POE grin my naija people, I hail o shocked

Ehn, ladies too are bosses na...

You should send a case specific enquiry to accra, that should be your "designated" visa office.

I assume you will be more qualified to apply for a certificate program or diploma at any of the colleges. 2.65/5.0 might not be enough to get a Masters Degree admission, it's highly competitive.
