Good morning FCCA2012,

What is your first degree?

Please go with either ICAA or CPA but align your Jd with the requirement of Accountants.

Go through their sites to check out their requirements. I believe you are good to go with what you have already.

My first degree is Accounting from Oxford Brookes, Uk. Please anyone that has applied for assessment with these accounting bodies should guide me on whether CPA or ICAA.

@ FCCA2012,

Toslad has provided you all that is required.

I personally have a bias for CPA because I have a smooth experience with them. They also keep to all that is on their website (97%).

With less than AUD 500, you have both your qualification and employment assessed. They also accept Statutory declaration in case you are unable to get reference from your employer.

The only downside with CPA is that you can only have a single valid assessment at a time (unlike ICAA who probably gives multiple assessment). This to me is not really an issue once you've made up your mind on the occupation you are settling for.

With your ACCA, you do not need B.Sc. Your ACCA covers all the required competencies (subjects).

You however did not provide your employment details (roles and functions) to enable us share experiences.

Ok. I have not seen ACS equate CpmTIA A+ to Diploma. Therefore, You need the RPL to be to maximize your point for experience. And dont forget to use experince prior to your Bsc. so ACS can have 6 years to deduct.

KayVutton:

Sorry I'm just replying.

CompTIA A+…..2006
bachelor's........2007
ITIL....................2014
MCSD................2016

Thanks a lot for your time. You and Alphadoor have been too kind.

Please friend, is there any point to be scored for ND or HND holders in Nigeria under educational qualification?

Thank you praiseisgood.

FCCA2012, I did my assessment with ICAA.

CPA is a little cheaper than ICAA but both are fair with their assessments.

ICAA too does only one assessment at a time (I discovered that during my reassessment as External Auditor) you have to check their sites and since you schooled abroad coupled with your ACCA you have nothing to fear really.

10 points for diploma.

@Culdalex,

The issue is that there are too many applicants for the occupation. Therefore, ITA is given in order of points. Because they also have a lot of 70/75points in the pool, those get priority before lower "pointers".

yes seperate EOI for both

Ok wanted to know because I intend to do the same thing. The system is smart to discover that an applicant lodged more than one eoi...intresting.
Those that have gone through the process will advise but my guess is you have chosen vic over nsw so they will be contacting you on the next step/ita.
Good luck!

Hi Aussie Fam,
With support from the chief himself , Sir bellong,
There is a proposal to move this thread away from NL to an independent forum.

This will enable us interact better and track posts effectively.
Feature will include but not limited to

-better tracking of each NOC information.
-categorisation of each subject matter
-Easy navigation for new comers
-Archivable content.
-Avoid repetition of same issue over and over again, we can have "how to sections" for most used assessing bodies.
-profile progress tracking
-ITA dates countdown.
-
......and so much more.

This site will require all our effects to thrive as a community and this will require commitments from some users to acts as mods and supermods and champions
I have to warn that this new community will not be a walk in the park but it will be an interesting walk for us all.

Suggestion for site new is needed.
Volunteer for Mods, Supermods, and champions (People with vast knowledge of a particular assessing authority)

The idea is to have a platform like [url]www.migrati.. that will be information rich

Please note that nothing has been concluded or decided yet. this is just an idea for us to consider

Hi guys...

I applied second week of January and pressed IP in May. However, I haven't heard from CO up until now.

Do you think I should do a follow up mail to them? Or not?

The Nairaland forum should be maintained though.. A new site won't be as popular as Nairaland... Plus this forum has helped a lot of lives.. A new site can be created but this one needs to remain as well .... Just my opinion

seun osewa needs to wake up. he is too comfy with nairaland as it is. I joined this forum over a decade ago and the progress has been slow in terms of features. I dont see why we cant have dedicated features on nairaland for immigration threads, he should be much more bullish.

Good day FCCA2012,

Praiseisgood advised that you assess your ACCA and not your BSc. (I do not know much about this). If you are successful with this option, you get 5 years post qualification - depending on the month which gives you 10 points else you get 5 points if you assess your BSc. Please go through the first page thoroughly to get your 'potential' score.

As per phone interview with applicants or employers, I think not.

Just keep calm; it is called the waiting game for a reason at least in my own words.
But have no doubt your grant is near. Nigerian applicants get finalized results within a range of 54-120 days. However if you have done the needful and your application takes beyond 120 days, you may give them a call but expect the usual response.
