African Lung fish... Popularly called Ebieseni in Ijaw.

It hibernates inside ground when the land gets dry and can stay for up to a year until it rains and the ground gets wet. It's very common in Bayelsa and Delta state.

Its the sweetest fish ever when smoked or dried. Taste like meat
.

grin grin grin if the guy see this ur comment that is the end for the poor fish

That fish is called Ebi in igbo, it has no bone, it lives in swamp, got stuck in mud during dry season and eats itself to stay alive and grows back during wet season. Its edible, but it tastes better when dried/smoked.

People should try as much as possible not to misinform other people. The beauty of silence is always appreciated.

That fish belongs to the family Polypteridae (species is probably Polypterus senegalus; African Lungfish) and not Heterobranchus longifilis; African Catfish which belongs to the family Clariidae.

In the process of self preservation, the African Lungfish undergoes aestivation (not hibernation) when surrounding water is drying up.

Sweet heart belive it, the wildlife species have shocking characteristics
, that fish lives inside a brick used for building houses for months and hatches or wakes up on the scent of water, can hibernate for two years without water and u wake up shockingly to see a fish digging out of a wall especially mud walls
