Anambra is three 3x of Lagos including water, but when you consider 2/3 of Lagos being water, Enugu is 7x of Lagos. So keep that in mind when you talk about landmass. Anambra is nearly 2x of Lagos with water, however considering 2/3 of Lagos being water, Anambra is actually 3x of Lagos. Meaning if Lagos can house 30 million people today with only 20% of its meager/tiny landmass in use, it means that Anambra with his culture of building mostly high-rise buildings because they have sense than Lagos government, will house over 100million with only 5% of its landmass in use. Have I educated you today Afonja illiterate?

LMAO you've been mentioning Lagos like it's the only Western state.
If you've been to Lagos you'd know that no other state can compare in terms of high-rise buildings. grin

Lack of imagination.
It takes more than land to run a university.

You will need to take your map lesson again. Anambra is just a little bit bigger than Lagos. Awka which is on Enugu boundary is 40 minutes drive to Niger bridge with Delta state.

I do travel within Eastern five state capitals between 7 to 9 hours. No private School can afford thousands of hectares in land in the East like in the West Or North; and this is understandable.

But for the law college and medical college they can't be sited at canaanland campus because of space and Bishop said he doesn't want student numbers to exceed the current 6,000(undergrad) on that campus.

5k is too much na, he should open a university and charge N50. I've stopped replying those mumu since 2015. They think their N15k tuition in those rusty public schools is what sustain university lecturers and day to day operations.

ASUU is currently demanding N1 trillion from the Federal Government, even though students have not stopped paying those 25k school fees. It clearly shows that the tuition students pay is virtually USELESS.

Nigeria is a very poor country... We will never know how poor the country is until the FG withdraw all forms of subsidy in the education sector. If that ever happens, more than 90% of students in these schools will have to go back to the village. Quality education is not cheap, the government knows that with subsidy and half baked education, the masses will continue to smile while suffering. The ideal thing would be massive interest in raising the standard of living of Nigerians, and erasing every form of subsidy in capital intensive sectors. Knowing how much it cost to raise a kid in a Turkish, British or American-model private primary school in Nigeria, it would be f00lish to insult the current crops of private unis.

Ideally, the average Nigerian should be able to raise at least 2 children in Covenant Uni without taking a loan, scholarship or any related. Covenant Uni tuition should be something many homes can afford... however with the current useless poverty alleviation schemes from the government (e.g. sure-p, npower) and a minimum wage @18k, that won't happen anytime soon.

Exactly! Reason why the US as a country would never dabble into free education. Folks using Germany and Norway as the perfect model of how free education works don't realise than tax in those two countries are as high as 50%. I don't know many Nigerians willing to make such huge sacrifice for a full fledged socialist state. Even if we decide to go that path I am not sure it wld work because of the huge income inequality and a rapidly shrinking middle class

Well, unlike OP who gave the actual size in acres. You did not give any detail, just went about saying it borders an airport and another school. What is the actual size of the school? No answer! How does something bordering an airport connotes it being large?

The farm was not included as it was not included for landmark too. Anyway in the next five years CU might be over a 1000 acres because there are plans to extend the medical school, law school, business school and technology hub into canaancity(i guess as a second campus)
But then the best universities in the world rarely have landmass above 500 acres. e.g Caltech, Lancaster, Howard(250 acre) etc.

*the whole canaanland is now over 17,000 acres

Do they have a Medical School in CU now?
