@wealth350, for Form A transactions, the beneficiary must be the school. You will have to mail the school to get details of the account. I believe you intend to pay your school fees. wealth360: |

mcobex:Thanks Mcobex: Bachelors in Civil Engineering (UG) Going for Masters in Geotechnical Engineering (one of the areas of specialization for civil engineers) at UWO I just found out that we can open an RBC account for him here. We will do that and transfer his tuition fees into the account. I just hope that people have done that successfully in the past and the VO would not have a problem with that. |

jamie55:I also think you should order for his gcms note. Then add proof of where it was stated that he shouldn't pay tuition before he gets a study permit. It seems insufficient funds is the latest for these VOs even when funds are available. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 5:49pm On Aug 17, 2017 |
jamie55:Yes someone did that recently and it worked. But it is very important your brother orders for his GCMS note so we can be sure what the vo was thinking before denying him |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by jamie55: 5:53pm On Aug 17, 2017 |
mcobex:How do we order a GCMS note and how long does it take? We are hoping to re-apply for January resumption. BTW, I just spoke with RBC now and they said they can't open the account while he is outside the country but I saw it somewhere before. Which bank have people been using? |

mcobex:The PGD matter don tire me sef. The guy is just coming here to discourage people. There are more than 10 Nigerians coming to my previous school each semester(Fall, winter, summer and spring). Its a college and don't offer masters. All of them are coming for PGD programs. cc jnyuwa02----please stop the negative energy you are putting towards PGD applicants. Be aware that not every PGD applicant is on NL so your analysis is wrong. |

O God my visa got delayed today my first time of visa denied am soo hurtful ![]() I applied on July 12th for Undergraduate program chemistry am a graduate of Pharmacology not with a very good g.p I opted for that chemistry I.e the Bachelors science program for a pathway for pharmD program though I didn't state that in my Sop as a pathway program I talked more based on low cgpa and how i also needed to boost and get a good degree in chemistry as it has been my desired program from high school. Visa was delayed and marked base on: 1.purpose of visit: Also marked Other reasons: Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, or your future prospects and plans. I attached my employment letter as a pharmacy techincian/Assistant also submitted document from my Hospital for approval to go and study. |

Nairaland guys are doing a fantastic job here. If somebody posits that PGd applicants have a slim chance of TRV, the person might be right in his own opinion based on what he has seen. Also in other perspective, another person will tell you that PGd is the best option based on what he also has seen. I have seen four approvals this year with two PGd, one diploma and one Masters. However, the number of refusals for Masters I have seen are more than the PGds. (Not on nairaland). And we have seen Masters applicants with funding been refused. I discussed with the consular about people changing career or people going for the course not related to the intended study, he said it is at the discretion of the VO. He said that he himself studied Financial Economics and he is doing a consular job. If he will treat an application and see an applicant like this, he won't look at it as unreasonable but others who are not in the same shoe will see it as illogical. It now depends on how you are able to argue your case with the visa officer and make it convincing. He noted one point that if you have a brother in Canada who entered through the student route and when he got to Canada, he did not respect the terms of the visa, he may be a legal resident now but if you make the person your sponsor, the VO will doubt your intention to study. He/She will feel like your brother or sister want you to take the path he took to immigrate to Canada. My point is this, there is no good application and there is no bad application. It all depends on how you package your dossier and how convincing your SOP is. The only bad application I know is the one with forged or not genuine documents and don't ever try it. It ruins career and life. Most importantly PRAYER! It can direct the VO to reason along with you even if you don't make any sense. I pray that we will not receive refusals again on this forum and from now we will be reading the praises of approvals. Amen. |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 7:34pm On Aug 17, 2017 |
jamie55:Normally if someone applies for it from Nigeria it takes around 30 days to get here and cost around $23 but since you are in Canada you can order for it on his behalf and it will cost you around $5 but I don't know the time it will get to you (but obviously lesser than 30 days). You can order for it on cic's site (CAIPS FILE ). Concerning the bank the person used I can't remember but I know one or more persons o this forum will still remember the name |

A little advice to all. 1. If you completed your biometrics in *Collection point A and was gracious enough to get your passport request after the VO had reviewed your documents. If you don't submit your passport at the same collection point A but decide to submit at Collection point B it attracts a delicious sum of N10,240 This is for something the vfs staff call "PT"?! fees (I hope I got the name right). It is meant to be free if biometrics is in collection point A and requested passport is submitted in collection point A. Ps *Nigeria has just 2 collection centers which are Lagos and Abuja. 2. After speaking to a VFS staff about the duration of time it takes between submitting the requested passport at VFS and collection of Stamped passport. I have come to understand its 5-10 working days. Do have a blissful evening |
