I bought a used car two days ago, Acura MDX 2003, before paying I took a good look at it, test drove and after two days I test drove again before paying, I have used this car with no issues, the only thing I was to replace was the AC compressor and condenser, which I planned to do onsaturday, the mistake I made was that I didn't test drive it on the high way, today I is the first day I drove it on the high way and noticed it doesn't go pass 90km/h. I have called the seller today, but he was driving I'll have to call him later to talk with him though but I need advise from the house, please help out.

The mistake has already been made that's why I always advocate if you can't scan a car before purchase ensure to drive it above or within 120km,it would have switched to all gears by then and if the gear has fault, you will notice it also drive the car for around 20km or more just to be sure.

Well Acura mdx is one of those cars with sensitive gears, check the dip stick, if the fluid is black, you have 3 options

1. Return the car and get in refund (probably when USA AND NORTH KOREA start their nuclear war )

2. You tell the seller and he says it is so and he fixes it for you or you split the cost.

3. You manage the car like that and sell it to another mumu/Maga @ a loss.

Okay thanks, the gear oil was actually changed this morning and it was so dark like an overused engine oil, I tested it this morning, and now goes over 100km but it isn't consistent, I'll look for someone who can scan it for me around.

Thank you all for your input, after the gear oil change, the speed and gear changing has really improved, I tested it again and I must say the car drives well now the only down side now is that itlltge car is a guzzler, I'm going to scan and fix the issues by Monday my mind is relaxed now and I'm very happy it wasn't a serious issue.
