You are correct. Though I think the confused ones amongst them are actually Fulanis who have become 'Yorubanized' and even adopted Yoruba names. The Fulas employed the same strategy of using religion as a weapon of conquest against the Hausa states as well. But unlike the Hausas who allowed their culture and kingship system to be largely supplanted by religion and the emirate system (minus their language), the real Yorubas of Ilorin are still largely 'Yorubaphilic'. Those Yoruba-wannabe fulanis are the ones that usually exhibit that Northern attache. Don't be deceived by their Yoruba names.

Yes bro. Nothing divides people more than religion, even more so than race -- it's the ultimate weapon of conquest. There's nothing like 'one true or superior religion' amongst all the religions of this world, same way there are is no superior race either. It's not by mistake that man was created in different shades and color and was made a free moral agent. Live and let live is the only solution to peace. Only extremists like boko haram and ipob go about denigrating other people, shouting 'Yoruba muslim' all over the place and killing people in the name of religion.

It is none of the two tribes. It is Islamic names used by both Hausa and Yoruba Muslims. All are Arabic Names.

Dont even understand what you are saying. Go to southwest not even kwara and see yoruba having Arabic names most starting from Abdul. Who is stopping Yoruba christian from using English names like James ?
