No Inch Of Yoruba Land Will Be Ceded To Fg's Creditors - Afenifere by NaijaRoyalty(m): 12:10pm On Aug 01
THE pan-Yoruba sociopolitical group, Afenifere, on Friday declared that no inch of Yoruba land will be ceded to creditors of the Federal Government should there be reasons for its creditors to make such demands.

Afenifere was reacting to reports that the Federal Government had signed an agreement with the Chinese government, which contains a clause that compels Nigeria to waive its immunity for itself or its property in case of a breach of the agreement.

In a statement by its spokesman, Mr Yinka Odumakin, Afenifere described the disclosure that a clause in a loan agreement signed by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government ceded the sovereignty of Nigeria and its assets if the nation defaults in payment as worrisome.

Odumakin said: “The Yoruba nation will not allow an inch of its land to be taken over by any foreign interest to which any government that is loan-crazy must have concessioned the sovereignty.

We are not aware of any such authority given to any government to do such. “Let lenders beware so they don’t give loans beyond what any regime can repay in its tenure.”

The controversial clause in the agreement says: “The borrower hereby irrevocably waives any immunity on the grounds of sovereign or otherwise for ITSELF or its property in connection with any arbitration proceeding pursuant to Article 8(5), thereof with the enforcement of any arbitral award pursuant thereto, except for the military assets and diplomatic assets.”

They gave you railway and in return, collected both the railway and the lands and other assets. China must be a very smart and cunning country while Nigeria is the mugu shocked shocked

Thank God that non of the loans was spent in the East, and we Igbos even wrote to many global bodies including China to reject it at that time.

Lalasticlala

Don't be surprised they used 100% of the assets in the SW as collateral even when the loans were spent more in the North than the SW.

Please loud it..

Amaech or anyone has no right to sign off Nigeria's sovereignty (in whatsoever context) to chinko slave traders. If not that Amaechi is an imbec.ile, how will any right thinking person see nothing wrong in non-Nigerians taking over assets in Nigeria (what sort of useless people do we have as leaders sef).

Is it until they take over the useless railways that will be outdated and obsolete in no distant future, take over all our airports, seaports, Customs etc. and even natural resources like gold (which they have been stealing secretly), oil and gas resources and the numerous others we are blessed with that our eyes will clear?

What stops Nigeria from generating her own financial capacity and needs from food and natural resources processing rather than selling ourselves off for useless modernized locomotives.

We know their plans, take loans, share it amongst themselves (unrepentant looters) abandon the projects and let China come in and enslave our coming generations. BASTARDS!

With all the money stolen under GEJ, Diezani and Patience Jonathan's loots, returned Abacha loot, NNPC missing billions and NEDC, NDDC billions that can't be accounted for would have transformed this country into the envy of the whole world. Very useless set of people

A country that has Oil and is one of the richest in the world with abundant mineral and natural resources suddenly turned beggar, taking loans and ceding sovereignty.

Come to think of it, there's little or nothing belonging to FG in the SE that can be mortgaged or used as collateral for their stvpid loans.
Let Nigeria be handed to the Chinese, lock stock and Aso Rock.
Amen!

The Fulani media crew will start spatting all forms of insults at Afenifere even though they just stated the obvious truth.

But Afenifere must be warned that before China could come in to steal our resources, the Fulanis are already playing the agenda. The northernesp are worioi tiredlessly behind media space to conquer our lands, they are already increasing in population in the SW. When a browl broke out between a Southerner & Northerner, Northerners appear in large numbers as they descend on the Southerner... crazy enough no Southerner will come to the rescue of his brother.

When the Fulanis are done with us, they'll easily handover to their chinese lords.

I don't understand all this outcry. Or is it because Nigerians love to default on their loan obligations.

Pay as at when due and no worries. That clause is very good. Borrower must pay or we forfeit Lagos State to Chinese.

Some youths are just plain stupid. Those of you saying rubbish up there like it won't affect everyone of us. This is the problem with us. Instead of the rest of us that are sane to stand together and do the right thing, we are being consumed by tribal hatred. I'm just tired of the kinda youths I'm sharing this country with.
It's true some of us will travel out of the country, how be it some of us won't get to leave the country, to those of us who might end up not leaving, can we at least fight for the future of our unborn children and ours? Unity is very key let's stop all this tribal racism abeg.
