It is irresponsible for PTDF not to respond to the e-mails sent to them! If you are here and knows someone on the inside be it the Exec Secretary, tell them I say so! Why do they have e-mail address in the first place? That's what happens when you employ civil servants based on man-know-man, and not based on competency. I won't be surprised if the person managing the email doesn't know how to construct simple sentence to respond. It appears that almost all the MDAs in Nigeria are grossly inefficient be it Immigration, NPF or what have you. I pity those who intend to travel for OSS and don't have their Passports already. Immigration officers will just tell you they don't have booklets to produce your passport unless you grease their filthy palms. Anyway I will keep tweeting at PTDF whether they respond or not. |

How easy it is to deceit people nowadays. So you think what you have read here is true. There are a lot of false information circulating nowadays, instead of people to carryout independent investigations to find out the truth, they just argue blindly with wrong information. Let me talk about myself a little. I did not attend any private secondary school or university. The people I know that got PRESSID scholarship never attended any private university either. This information being circulated is very untrue. What can mischief makers not do. Let me add this, every single person I knew who applied for the scholarship was invited to take the test. It is left for you to be objective. maikant: |

DreManuel:yes bro. I just saw previous pages now so let me comment. @ jsleekysleeky, Mballowa, jelani01, EazyMoh and others. You guys are complete bigot and tribalist. Someone was talking about why the nation is not progressing due to federal character, incompetence, God-fatherism and corruption, you then change it and start talking about Northerners being marginalised trying to act victim. Are you all stupidly and foolishly born in a nincompoop world. If there is any people in Nigeria crying marginalisation, it shouldn't be northerners. You have the plentiest states, highest number of financial allocation, the highest number of leaders and presidents in the history of Nigeria, the highest number of Billionaires due to Nigeria resources and many more. You guys Connive with Shell to kill Ken saro wiwa and taking over oil blocks at the expense of Niger Deltans which you still benefit today. And yet, you are the poorest and the most impoverished segment in Nigeria due to your bad and corrupt leaders. Instead of you the Northern youths to fight and help save your people, you all do like zombies to them. You connive with these same bad leaders further making the ordinary people to be helpless. You guys are intentionally not enlightening your people on education so they can be tools for all of you at the top so you can control them easily thereby making them beggars and Almajiris. You lie against Islam principle by using Boko harm as an Islamic tool to brainwashand kill innocent people. You also lie against Islam by marrying the poor underage helpless family trying to survive with the money they will get yet you rich and educated females never get marry early. See I am not dmainman or dremanuel that is forming gentle man. I have not started any abuse at all. If any of you respond to me critically, I will abuse such person that the next day you will feel like commiting suicide. Better crawl back to the hole you guys came from. Apart from Mballowa who by the way gave us fake news, we never saw your comments other than this tribal stuff. |

Fellow hopefuls, I would like us to further bombard @PTDF_Nigeria with a lot of tweets. If they could say something via that platform, I suppose enough tweets and hashtags (#ReleaseTheList) could propel them towards doing the needful. I mean this is really getting out of hand, I've almost lost two admissions from top class institutions just because of some people's incompetencies - it's really crazy. I'm sure a lot of us fall in this category too. I'm tired of hearing all sorts of gibberish unto the reason the list is being delayed. To those of us turning this thread to a battle of insults, all I have to say is "grow up". So, back to the matter, I think twitter would be a really good platform to let out our anger and frustration, not here! |

Chairmen, the last time I checked this thread was for PTDF scholarship. Has there been any change? Someone should create another thread for other discussions and allow us to wait for this list that is gradually become a 'long thing' |

jelani01:Bloody hypocrite. You were the one that changed all the discussion here to be tribal. You caused and instigated everything from the beginning. And now you want to claim good man after many insightful men went against you abi. Clap for yourself Mr Innocent. You foolish fool, you had better bath before you sleep because your bad odour has caused mischief here. See don't comment here again because the truth is everyone IQ here is higher than yours. I mentioned Niger Delta so I am a Niger Deltan abi. I am from South West please. This proof your logical reasoning is less than a five year old. MORONIC slowpoke, you should thank God we Yorubas made Nairaland possible hence lower IQ animals like you have the ability to discuss with intellectuals here. . |
| Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by Mayflowa(m): 11:15pm On Aug 22, 2017 |
jsleekysleeky:You seem to misquote Dmainman out of order. I am the last person to be bigoted. I acknowledge all tribes got intelligence. I have been classmate with genius northerners. He was a crazy mathematician. But as regards PRESSID scholarship, the examination was only written by first class students in all universities in Nigeria. The exam was conducted by National University Commission (NUC) and candidates selected by NUC to produce the next generation scientific genius who can only attend the first 20 global universities in the world. Now, this is the only examination that has nothing to do with Federal Character Commission. The Jonathan Government only wanted the most qualified candidates by way of exam regardless of wherever state of federation they were coming from. I think for 3 years in the conduct of the examination, less than 5 percent where coming out from the Northern extraction and that angered many northern leaders and group including northern law makers who pushed for the cancellation of PRESSID when Buhari got in so much so that the last winners were never sponsored. Now there is an explanation to the few number of Northerners in the list: I noticed in there are relatively fewer applications from the north in this type of scholarship examinations. If there are 2000 applications from the south for instant, there would be 200 applications from the north. Maybe because northern like to stay and work in Nigeria or general lack of awareness. So it shouldn't be any surprise if 200 people are eventually selected, only 10 comes from north. They aren't dull but the probability is low because of the number of applicants in the North. But Federal Character seeks to equalise this. They make it compulsory that equal number must come from each state or region. Such that if 100 is selected from the South with 2000 applications, 100 must be selected from the north with 200 applications! However there are merits and demerits in this thinking. Though it may limits merit, but there is happiness all over and spread of wealth amongst states forming a whole. iN FACT, a PhD thesis can be written on this rationality and philosophical thoughts behind the approach. I noticed when I was shortlisted for PTDF MSc scholarship some 8-9 years ago, while there were many of us from the southern state like 300 names per state, states like Zamfara had only 5 names! and PTDF was to select 9 scholars from Zamfara. They eventually have to source for other four interested students to accept the scholarship. Lastly, we know we are all intelligent but don't also forget Nigerians states have been classed into education and education less developed states. While Bayelsa, Cross rivers, Rivers and Akwa Ibom have been classed as educationally-less developed states in the South, almost all of the states in the North are classed as educationally less developed state by Nigeria education committee and up till now no northern group has disputed it because it creates some kind of favourable consideration in gaining admission through JAMB. |

We all want to be leaders of tomorrow. Leaders that can't respect individual difference. I think we should stop blaming our leaders that they treat us bad because we have already treated ourselves bad. We don't have a voice. The only voice we have is to either insult the other tribe, culture or religion. We hold unto things that are of no use. The day we the youths become united and learn to respect each other irrespective of tribe, religion and race is the day our leaders will start treating us they way they should. And the way things are going, no one here will live to see the United Nigeria Youths because we have already poisoned our minds towards each other thereby giving the selected few the advantage because of our myopic thinking. Pressid, ptdf, nddc, agip, shell, BEA have all been compromised based on who is incharge. Same goes to ETF. We are here fighting and insulting ourselves while they are replacing our names with the names of thier family members who graduated with 3rd Class and are going there for Post graduate diploma. The first there was no cut off point, there was no display of results after the test. That alone should have made you people under that things are going on. Going by federal character or whatever, all exams have standard and if federal is to be applied, there should be two part of the ptdf scholarship: there should be national awards and states awards. National awards should be give to those who made the specified cUT off mark irrespective of the state of origin. Then the state awards should be given based on state performance in order to compliment the total number need. If 6 people from the same state are lucky to have the national award for OSS, then the next 10 or 15 who the state award should be given LSS. I think the process will better. And the cut off marks should be made known to the public and the results should be displayed at the end of the test. These are the type of things we should be fighting for, not insulting someone tribe or religion. If we advocate for things like this, they will know we mean business and they won't have the time to be manipulating. Most of us will be shouting because we want to be heard and favored. The moment we are favored, we act as if nothing was wrong with the system and forget. As long as we have those mentality, we won't go anywhere and they will continue to hajack what belongs to us. |
