I am somewhat bewildered but not suprised. The first problem is that the depth of Ignorance on battlefield field management and strategy does not lie alone with the public.

I recall that a General giving information to the public about another ambush, declared that the army had responded and rescued all the kidnapped lecturers from Uni Maiguguri and the NNPC staff from that ambush. Within hours the truth began to filter out and he had given complete and utter misinformation.

It showed that we lack the basic communication infrastructure in real time that is needed for battlefield management.

Instead of remaining silent that he could be thought to be wise he did the opposite, saying it was sabotage and information given to the enemy.

Ambushing a NA convoy from all I gather is far from difficult. Firstly, we still go around in huge numbers of soft skinned pick-up trucks into a kill zone. With a small number of light armoured APC's Piranha, the Chinese CS/VP3. We do not still have a definitive IFV (infantry fighting vehicle) in the NA inventory. So essentially we are under equipped.

Add to that the majority of our troops are still using antiquated AK47'S without optic sights.

The pertinent thing about an ambush is the element of suprise. When you are in a kill zone, you are expected to be ambushed it's not a suprise. In that regard you have strategic response immediate and support to mitigate against it.

However, again from what I am told we still believe In the mentality of strength in numbers. Very 1970's going around in noisy 100 vehicle convoys on main roads. It doesn't take rocket science to set up a confrontation in those circumstances.

Look at our procurement level and look at our expenditure our first son and father are very much at work CORRUPTION. This is at the heart of the matter.
