From my understanding of Hollywood it comprises movies shown in Cinemas, Soap Operas negating the position of earlier posters and this means that if Nollywood is our own version of Hollywood, we cannot discount history by deleting the contributions of our heroes past in the industry wherever they may have come from (we are one Nigeria.) Infact when you google Nollywood, the first thing that you see on Wikipedia is
"The cinema of Nigeria, often referred to informally as Nollywood".

3. In terms of commercial success, Papa Ajasco (1984) by Wale Adenuga became the first blockbuster, grossing approximately ₦61,000 (approx. 2015 ₦21,552,673) in three days. A year later, Mosebolatan (1985) by Moses Olaiya also went ahead to gross ₦107,000 (approx. 2015 ₦44,180,499) in five days.[18]

I witnessed both eras and I am more suitable to guide and correct you.Your definition of Nollywood as the commercialization of Nigerian films is patently wrong and even if I agree with you for the purpose of this argument,then you are still wrong because I remember watching these older films at the national theatre,Iganmu and those films are commercialized because these films are advertised on local TV and radio stations and Nigerians pay to buy their tickets and the queue is usually long and they are shown over a period of time making room for the artists to make even more money.

Living in Bondage was no doubt the beginning of home videos and the movie deserves a very important place in our history.
However, what we are saying is that if Nollywood is Nigeria's version of Hollywood, the cinemas, stage plays, soap operas are really part of its history. Infact , it was untill 2002 it was referred to as "Nollywood".

Nollywood is way older than that movie . These are things we learnt as children in fine art, and Herbert Ogunde's movies serve as very great examples. What else do you want to hear?

I just mentioned and listed films that are Nigerian films even with national popularity and you can easily and humbly read about them online.
There are films like Block busters like Aiye by Hubert Ogunde Group,Taxi Driver by Ade Love the father of the popular Afolayan brothers, Duro Ladipo group that were the awada kerikeri group, Baba Sala with that film he was shown committing suicide in a train track and so many other films of Nigerian actors and theater you may be too young to know and can easily read on.
Nollywood never started with living in bondage and it is pure ignorance to say that publicly.
The English-Igbo genre of Nigerian films came to the table very very very late and that's why it lacked depth like the preexisting genre of Nigerian films led by the Hubert Ogunde et al.
