Watch as the Nigerian police PRO and Senator Misau Fight it out with words On IG of police alleged Corruption.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Chtxxdbsoic

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has been accused of extorting money, ranging from N10m to N15m, from Commissioners of Police, State Mobile Commanders and Special Protection Units (SPU) Commanders, for favorable postings.

IGP Idris also allegedly makes N10bn monthly from oil companies and other private individuals who enjoy special protection from the security agency.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Navy, Isah Hamma Misau, made these revelations on Friday, while addressing National Assembly Correspondents.

Misau said the level of corruption being perpetrated by the current Inspector-General of Police and the Chairman, Police Service Commission, IGP Mike Okiro (Rtd.), was so alarming and capable of undermining the anti-corruption stance of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“While the Police Service Commission could not deny the bribery allegation, information reaching me indicate that, even transfers of Commissioners of Police, State Mobile Commanders and SPU Commanders are also allegedly riddled in corruption.

“Some Commissioners of Police and State Mobile Commanders pay between N10m to N15m to get postings.

I can wager that by 2019 this APC's government level of corruption would have dwarfed PDP's 16 years no doubt.

For you to be posted to states like Rivers and Lagos you must cough out 50 million to the IGP because this states are high yield for corruption with many companies and VIP's that needs police protection.

The Nigeria police stinks to the high haven and need total cleansing and sanitization

I hope the president and the national assembly are monitoring the ongoing show of shame between the police and the senator. The leadership of the police force have always complained of poor funding. This could be an opportunity to start using police internally generated revenue to fund the activities of the force. Government should immediately legalize the payment of specified amount of money by companies and individuals that require special protection. If the IGP can be generating up to N10billion from the back charges, government can take over and put the funds to good use.

And if government refuse to act and take over, the corruption will continue no matter who is the president or IGP. The loophole is there to always be exploited by the police leadership and the only solution is for government to take it over legally.

At the last floor of Kam Salem Obalende Lagos is a Yoruba boy ,yellow in complexion and has been glued to the same seat underperforming as PA to the OC of the FIB , he is into all manners of dirty job from debts to anything . If you report any case of debts or fraud ,the guy will deduct 10% as police charges . He told a friend of mine that the police normally charge 50k per Mopol for any outing apart from the admin charges and other under the table bribe. That was before the coming of this IG of police . I am not sure if the reform has touched that area .
But in other formations I have not established that .

I don't see anything bad in getting companies to pay for the use of security operatives. They are into the business to make profit ,the profit is not coming into the coffee of government except the meagre tax and companies will even cheat in the declaration of tax returns .
The mistake we are making is that security is in short supply and the area has been overstressed with all sorts of requests and need. In the develop countries most of the request taken to the police are handle by Private Investigator.

When someone is declared missing ,you will commit tens of armed guards and vehicles on search mission . All this are handled by Private sectors operatives and you pay for their services.

Securing an event as well as providing security for the corporate executive is the work of Executive Protection Services and you pay heavily ,thus freeing up the regular police to attend to more national issues.
Nothing bad in paying for security if it goes to the Government coffer, but the police should always direct personal issues , civil matters ,and preliminary investigation on less important matters to the private investigator to ease the burden .

More noise to stir-up the hornet's nest. When the noise dies down,we will be left with nothing. Nothing but dust. Nothing is gonna come out of this. No investigations to ascertain the veracity of claims and counter-claims coming from the "honourable" senator and the police. No nothing. I have been around in this republic long enough to know how things work. So,trust me. NB: Get them gloves if they really wanna go the way of Mayweather and McGregor. Or did not someone say a "fight"?

The Police PRO is a big liar, he said he is not aware that some companies and Vips budget loads of money for security payments to the Nigerian police, Haba this is Public knowledge na..

On a personal note, recently in my family, we needed the services of Nigeria police for a certain duration due to some security issues.

We approached the DPO in charge of the division we are resident in, he told us a very long story, on how we have to apply, and pay some money which he will use he to settle his bosses and the policemen etc

We obliged, we paid nothing less than 200K for less than a month, just for 4 policemen.
We also paid them (the 4 policemen) 7K - each, weekly as allowances, we fueled their old dirty hilux every 2 days. Feed them, morning, afternoon nd night undecided

It wasn't fun at all, nd I strongly hope I will never use their services again, on a personal level

No,
We all have Jobs, the weren't forced or coerced to Join the Nigerian Police Force.
The are paid monthly salary and allowances depending on their respective ranks by the Federal government.

The 7k we paid them was just extra money for staying around us, we paid their boss 200k!!

7k a week for 4 policeman, that's 7*4=28K
28K * 4 weeks= 112k.
112k + 200k= 312,000
Thats the money we paid for Police services in a month undecided
We also fed this policemen: morning, afternoon and Night
We also bought fuel Into their hilux, every 2 days, fuel of 3-5K on average.

So Oga, what exactly are you talking about?

Make we bankrupt ourselves because say we need extra Police services, after all no be their work, isn't it why the are paid by the Federal Government

You say the risk their lifes for 1K, as if they are normal civilians, forgetting their Job is to risk their lifes in terms of security, for the Populace
Stop the emotional blackmail

I'm a medical professional, I sometimes come across very infectious dxs nd delicate situations, I also risk my life, so Kilode?

And I'm not paid like most Nigerian Senators who do nothing

until state police is accepted this will not stop. By state police i am advocating for a complete dismantling of the federal police and all officers and men made to return to their state. this will bring about fair competition amongst the state IG's since their will be 37 IG fot all states and Abuja. these IG's should now constitute the police commission for just cordinating purposes. All officers to run their careers serving in their state. For the entire federation a plain clothe force like fbi can be formed to track and handle federal crimes only

And you want people like this not to shout 'ONE NIGERIA'?

You wonder why they shoot innocent protesters seeking self determination to their detriments?

Forget the story of patriotism and unity, most elites shouting 'THE UNITY OF NIGERIA' are not doing so because they love the country, but because of their selfishness.
