No my friend, the moment was the 60's. The momemt has passed. But as a typical onye Igbo with the gift of looking ahead, I'd say what we Igbos should be worrying about
is what happens when Igbos own over 70% of Nigeria's private wealth, which is bound to happen. I'd say the more detribalised Naija is, the beter for us
70%..They've started again oooogrin

List those wealth now....empty chest beaters..75% claimersgrin

You have been made a DAN member and added to the list. Congrats check your responsibilities below.

I served in the East, Owerri to be precise. Owerri people are so detribalised. Sometimes I do have a hard time cross-referencing what I see here on NL with the love those people shown me over there. I miss all those Mama at Amakohia market, my favourite barbing place around that side too. I served around Egbeada estate and those peeps made me feel loved. The farther I have ever travelled in the Northern direction is Kogi, but I admire the simplicity of the life of a Hausa man.
I love the comment about writing down your own personal experiences with other tribes and not some generalized "regurgitated" missgivings, I did that and have little or nothing to document. Kudos OP for creating this thread.

As the saying goes, there are lies, damn lies, then statistics. All you have to do is look around you. And it is something that worries me a bit. After the war Igbos were given just 20 pounds each and they were all tenants. Within a few short years, in places like Lagos and Abuja, they became the landlords and visibly wealthiest group. And as that trajectory continues, what happens when we reach a certain tipping point? That's what worries me.

there is nothing like Yoruba Christian or Yoruba Muslim. WE ARE JUST YORUBA. We dont discriminate/stress that because siblings in Yoruba land can practice different religion and that won't stop them from loving and supporting one another.
I have to admit that's true about Yorubas, more so than any other tribe

Kudos to you my brother! More evidence that most people on NL are not into all this "Igbo" "afonja" hatred stuff. Most of us don't hate other tribes.

Bros, I lived in Owerri too and I can attest to what u said.
I am Igbo but Owerri is a "foreign" country to me because I'm not from that side of Igbo land. They showed me a lot of love despite my being a "foreigner".

You've not been following trends in the foreign scene. Interestingly, the US and other nations have been and are now intensifying campaigning for peaceful coexistence.
What is the 'inevitable' you are talking about?
The man is obviously delusional. He doesnt realise his time has passed. Even Ojukwu realised the moment passed with the 60's. In the 60's I myself would have been ready to die for that Biafra. No right thinking onye Igbo buys the brand of Biafra they're trying to sell today

nabiz:
I love Yorubas the only problem I had with the was based on what people told me about them as it concerns trust. My parents thought me never to trust a yoruber man and grew up with that hatred. Having traveled about to about 28 states in Nigeria and seen on line how Igbo and Yorubas share hatred, one day I sat down with pen to write down where and where Yoruba man has offended me, but to be sincere I found little or non compared to what I have benefited from them. They are very good people though with little bad one.

From my observation, I found out that the hatred between Igbo and Yorubas is based on what our father told us.

I want to challenge every Igbo man and Yoruba man to take a pen to write down the bad Yoruba or Igbo have down to you personally not base what people told you, and believe me you will fine non.

I have learnt that most my brothers that hate the yorubas are people who never have in contact with them and still believe on what people told us.

I have also observed another problem. A Yoruba man loves his language that he uses it even in a public place which some time and Igbo man may think that they are been discussed

An average Igbo man is very emotional and open that he badly pretend. If an Igbo man hate u you will notice it immediately. We love to dominate or lead, but a Yoruba man is more diplomatic in nature. He can easily control his temper but very secretive

Believe me I am also guilty of this hatred and that was based on what people told me. Yoruba people are good people, though my personal observation.

But I love a united state of Nigeria where each state controls her destiny but except that, GIVE ME BIAFRA AND I WILL LAY DOWN MY LIFE TO GIVE IT TO MY CHILDREN. JUSTICE AND PEACE IS THE BEST GIFT I CAN GIVE TO MY CHILDREN
You know, I agree with u that the United.States of Nigeria is best. As for this brand of Biafra, I understand the nostalgic emotion, but have you ever sat down to analyse what it entails. More likely you will.give your children conflict and confinment not justice snd peace.

There are good and bad people among all ethnic groups in Nigeria. We should shun stereotypes, so that we can move forward.
I have had a lot of positive treatments from members of different ethnic groups in Nigeria.
My fellow Danite, most Nigerians have the same mindset as you but if you go by blogs and forums like NL all Nigerians want to kill other tribes

I am a staunch believer that there are good and bad people in all ethnic groups and so l refrain from exhibiting bias because of the character of a few bad ones.. Here is my view on a few ethnic groups..

As an omoluabi Yoruba, l view Hausa people as.. Very open, hospitable, warm, extremely generous and unpretentious about their feelings towards you

The lgbos are very hardworking, enterprising, industrious and creative.. They also help each other and they never beg on the street..
Niger Deltans are very funny, unpretentious and very assertive.
All in all, Nigerians are great people
Very well said, my brother, and right on point. I believe most Nigerians wanna be like you. Just that the haters monopolise all the attention

I get annoyed when Yorubas help perpetuate this false stereotype of Ibos.

Tell Ibos to name the industries and companies they have.....we're not talking 2x2 corner shops.

I'm sure you're just repeating what you hear them saying about themselves.

Tell me which Ibo companies can match these Yoruba enterprising companies..... https://www.nairaland.com/3918290/yorubas-most-industriousrichest-educated-tribe

If I ask you what you think about your tribe, you go say "we're very accommodating"..... who wan chop accommodating? Madam wake up.

I love the Ibos for always trying to complete with Yorubas. No matter their failure, they keep trying to pull Yorubas down in their envious and diabolical manner.

I love Yorubas for still ACCOMMODATING them in LAGOS, IBADAN, OGUN and other SW locations.
Can someone please lend me that "The Haters Have Arrived" photo?

I am not Yoruba, and admire Yoruba love for their culture and language. They are amongst the rare Africans who has not allowed imported religions to influence the names they give themselves.

I am not Hausa, and I love the beauty of Hausa Fulani women. I love Hausa for giving us suya. I also love their preservation of powerful ancient royal traditional rulers who wield great power.
