I don't agree with koboless, because it was or still is our currency and the value of the kobo gives credence to how broke the person is.

Saying you're penniless is acceptable, so why can't we say koboless?
Hey "koboless" is not a good word. "Penniless" is a perfect word. Try to learn standard English, not Nigerian English.

Op, I totally disagree on #1 point.

If penniless is acceptable, so should koboless . We use naira and kobo here not pound and penny.

Some slang are accepted generally while others are not and regarded as grammatical solecisms.

The main reason "koboless" is incorrect is simply because it's not a standard currency, unlike dollar and so on.

OP, if you could also instruct Nigerians to stop using 'am' in place of "I'm" or "I am", I would be very grateful.

No, no one has been reported dead. It isn't a third-party killer; it kills the speaker alone. It is figuratively drifted. Thanks.

In English, there is what is called native English.

Try to learn standard English please and not other way round.

"I am on my way"
means I am just about to start the
journey and "I am on the way" means I
am in the middle of the journey.
I don't think that is correct. The difference is just the possessive noun, 'me' and the definite article 'the'.
