If you mean getting a job to boost your CRS score, I'd say to hold off on that as your last resort. It's not an easy thing nicking a job in sunshine Canada from faraway Nigeria, except of course your employer here is transferring you.

Focus on other factors like IELTS or PNP to improve your score.
using the CRS calculator, with a good IELTS score, without job offer or PNP, my score was 399, I think it's not good enough.
Please how does the PNP work? isn't it more difficult than getting a job offer?

Amen. God is on the throne. It 'll surely end in praise. I join my faith with yours.
Nogen:

I totally agree with you. I messed up big time. It was even the section 1 that I drifted, the easiest part of the listening exercise. It means I got all others to have scored 7.5. Would have gotten 9. It's well.

All other things I need for EE application is ready! ECA, POF, and so on. It's just this IELTS. Used to think POF would be my challenge for a family of 5 but I have been able to surpass that now. Thanks to God. My headache now is IELTS. I will surely overcome it too.
Thanks

My 2nd IELTS wasn't so good- L 7.5, R 6.5, W 7 and S 7.5.
I lost concentration during the listening and missed 6 answers. I knew after the exam that getting 8 points would be a miracle. I got 8 in my first attempt and 6.5 for S, R , W. I did study for 2 weeks to get this new score.

How can one improve on reading? Any materials to use?

Hi Nogen,
Thought you received an ITA at some point. Did you reject it?
I used mostly the YouTube listening practise, IELTS buddy and Ieltsliz and that worked for me.
All the best.

Hello good people
What do you think?
I sold a couple of my properties and I was able to raise way above the POF requirement.
I am looking at ITA sometimes in December.
I honestly can't wait for the 6months bank thingy to apply.
Does it make sense to just invest this money in treasury bills (6month tenure) immediately and use the certificate for POF even if the investment is not up to 2months?
Your opinion counts

Its straight forward since you have all these documents. The only other thing you would need would be 3 reference letters from 3 clients. That's about it.

Good day experienced peeps,

Trust we're all doing great.

Can anyone assist with requirements for express entry inside Canada (inland)?

Ontario is my preferred destination for an open work permit visa. NB: planning to leave by January and I plan to file in a profile upon landing.

Thank you

You don't have to wait 6 months for your POF... if you get ITA soon, apply immediately and add documents showing proof of sales to your POF.

All d best!

I am not understanding

If you have been following this thread you'll know you've not done well at all.
Who told you the money must be in the account for 6 months? My brother, it is not a requirement
If you've sold off some of your asset, you can include evidence of sale and explain with an LOE.

Here is my 2 kobo:
Start processing transcripts for ECA and start preparing for IELTS. By the time you have these on ground (~2months), gets ITA, proceed to AOR, the money has stayed enough in the account. Don't dull yourself o.

If you however, do not feel comfortable with my advice, ignore my rant.

Please experienced EE members!
I and hubby are planning to apply for EE and assumed good scores for IELTS and got 423. In the point calculator, we didn't see the score for Transcript evaluation so was imagining how it could add scores for us.
Again, any advise on how to obtain provincial nomination certificate for a mechanical engineer as we are both mechanical engineers with over 6yrs of experience. Any useful advise will be appreciated. Thanks

He should ace the ielts exam first and not with an assumed score. A bo wa ba ni ECA...what does the bolded mean? .Lol

ECA takes a pretty long time to complete, so he/she should start now if he/she intends to make that before December deadline.

Ielts can be written 1million times before December to get desired score grin

U received good advice Bro. My little addition is dat u just do 3months tenure and keep rolling it over until you get PPR so u don't get stuck if ur application is processed speedily as we ve seen in recent times. All d best.

Spot on @Kontagious.

Kontagious:

Hi billy, I feel compelled to respond to this post though would rather want the the debate to end as its been subtly on for a while. However, if the debate goes on with pointers that might help one, two or five people, then it's worth it.

I agree 100% with your post (and bbaby84 submissions) but I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that you lose points in some factors if you chose you have a spouse, rather we mostly recommend test takers (either single or married) to aim 8777 LRWS. Here is the gist, an applicant who is single does not get maximum score attainable from ielts with 8777 so does a PA with a spouse loses points attaining that score. A spouse on the other hand gets maximum (20) points claimable scoring 8777.

If I am right, yooku's initial post was made to encourage future test takers to max out their score with 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 (LRWS), but she only referenced CRS factor from a married applicant's perceptive.

In summary, applicants either single or married (PA) gunning to secure points possible should aim higher than 8777.

I have read and read this thread. But a little confused about few things!

1. Am going to be the PA as my intended spouse is still in her finals(meaning her bsc is not ready for evaluation). So I did the CRS simulation and I got 443 as married (without my spouse IELTS and ECA). And I got 462 as single. Now am confused. Shld I dive into the pool as single and get married after AOR? What will be required of me after notifying them after AOR?

2. I work in a merchant bank as a contact staff in a dept which is under the account dept. My job duties involves posting of transactions into the software. It's more like and account clerk which I can't find in the NOC under 0,A or B. What shld I do?

3. Is the NOC part of the application process?

Your honest response will be appreciated.

Nogen!!! You are here! How are you? Sorry with ielts score.. Na so ielts show me pepper too, but we thank God. Please google ieltsLiz and Ielts buddy for reading. They are very good resources. For the reading. You have to perfect the act of scheming. You don't necessarily have to read the whole passage. The last passage thou requires full concentration. But please learn how to scheme and give a passage a title. It will help you in looking for your answers. Pele

CIC just want to see a bank statement over a 6 month period that's all. I don't think the cash should lie in the account doing nothing for 6 month.

Some banks like UBA now have a monthly limit of $2000 using Naira debit card. Gtbank is $1,000 I think. If your family is 4 or less, you can use your Naira card for banks that have a limit of not less than $2,000. If your family is more than 4 (including you) then, you'll have to either use a dollar denominated Dom account or look for someone in Canada to pay for you and give the Naira equivalent to whoever he chooses.

Quick question. I'm uploading documents post ITA. Do we need to upload all stamped pages of spouse and dependant's passport?

Thanks

Get into the pool as a single applicant, get ITA and AOR and marry her afterwards. Easier that way because she wont be needing IELTS or ECA in that case as opposed to the other option.
