Rohr braced for physical scrap
By Colin Udoh, KweséESPN

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr is preparing for a physical encounter when his side takes on Cameroon on Monday in the reverse fixture of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Yaoundé.

Rohr's Super Eagles handed the Indomitable Lions an impressive 4-0 defeat in Uyo on Friday, but the Nigeria coach admitted that he expects Cameroon to be up for the fight during Monday's match.

"It's normal. It's natural. They are at home. They have their families and their supporters and they got a slap on Friday so we expect a big beginning of the game from Cameroon with a lot of aggressiveness," Rohr told reporters following the team's training session on arrival in Cameroon on Sunday afternoon but said his team were prepared to fight just as hard.

"We will try with a lot of aggressiveness to play. This is a physical team but we are ready physically also to have a big fight."

Kickoff is at 6PM local time (6PM Nigeria time)

And one more thing Mickael.... smiley

First you said you only wanted to respond to the erroneous info of me saying he will make the world cup when I never said such.... and now you say the @bolded.... that you wanted to share knowledge?? and ask what more I may know about this? What happened to correcting TheSupernerd for wrong info? Smh...

Mickael... plsss... I am begging you. Cease from these nonsense. I am the wrong guy you should ever wanna try this rubbish with. If you want a decent medical conversation there are ways to go about it without trying to make another look bad.

I mean it is truly amazing how you suddenly saw me say Ikeme will make the world cup... where in the world did you see or read that? I am really disappointed. Your eagerness to type and showcase what you know has superseded your patience to understand what someone is saying or even said....

It is a bad trait to have. Work on it. Ciao.

I will reply you because I have an issue with people thinking I have something against them, pay close attention to this conversation

Mr A- I think you are very wrong there. this particular illness doesn't need surgery

Mr N- I actually learnt that it does a while ago, consult so so and so and you will find out that the illness requires proper surgery and not just any therapy.

Mr A- wow I just did and I think you may the right after all, I just learnt something from you, thanks.

did you notice that this conversation started with the first saying the second guy was wrong? but see how it panned out, the problem here is your inclination towards the believe that we are competing for something that is totally non-existent, do we have any personal issues that I don't know about?

Ighalo doubtful for Cameroon return clash
By Colin Udoh, KweséESPN

Odion Ighalo is a doubt for Nigeria as the Super Eagles prepare to face Cameroon in the return leg of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, just three days after walloping the Indomitable Lions 4-0 in Uyo.

Ighalo, 28, hobbled off late in the second half of Friday's match with what he later told KweséESPN was hamstring trouble, and although he trained with the rest of the squad on arrival in Yaoundé on Sunday afternoon, coch Gernot Rohr says he will have to pass a late fitness test to be selected

"I would like to bring the same (lineup), but we have a little question about Ighalo and his leg and we cannot take any risk," Rohr told KweséESPN.

"If Ighalo cannot play, we will decide on the last moment. We have two possibilities. We have Kelechi (Iheanacho) and we have Anthony (Nwakaeme) who can play for him.

"The possibility is to bring fresh players that is why I only decide tomorrow morning."

Nigeria's win on Friday all but eliminated Cameroon from the race to Russia 2018.

Mathematically, the Indomitable Lions can still qualify, but they would need to win all their games, starting tomorrow, and count on Zambia losing at least one of their matches - but not to Nigeria - while Rohr's side must also taste defeat in one of their matches.

Kickoff is at 6PM local time (6PM Nigeria time).

You are not listening mister. That is the problem. Always eager to just drop a reply and save face.

Now listen.... You said I said something "erroneous" and it turns out I never said so. So how is that even supposed to pan out?

You even said the reason you quoted me was because I was giving misleading info .... how funny isn't it? You mentioned the world cup... I never did... you just mumbled up everything.

First you quoted to say I was giving wrong info and even said That was the reason you had to quote me and it turns out I never said such.
Then later you say you sought a discussion for knowledge sharing... which is which Mickael? See why I have a problem with your approach?

And he brings in competition... what is that? Look... you said something that was totally false... and I expect an apology. Saying I am giving misleading info when I never did is an insult. Maybe you will understand things now... or just run around and deny seeing my point.

This would be my line up, if I were the coach:

Ezenwa

Shehu...Ekong...Balogun...Aina
(yes, he can play LB)

Ndidi...Onazi...Mikel

Victor Moses...KC...Etebo
(we need his high work rate plus the end products)

But I am almost 100% sure that Rohr would stick with the same line up. Most coaches don't change a winning team.

O pari

I prefer key players with cautions to sit this match out. Zambia match seem far more important to me. Maybe only me.

Enyeama should be back by later this year or in January depending on his progress on that right knee... His twitter clip was a bit encouraging shaa. Showed him working out that knee but he still felt discomfort in his facial expressions. But again when he does return he needs to regain match fitness and sharpness. Hence the need for him to find a new club by January possibly.

As for Ikeme, all I can say is that he should just focus on recovery from this cancer condition. He should keep being positive... Keen Optimism will play a huge role for him. I have seen a few miracles of recoveries from his cases... and his chances of recovery are great but to be fit for Russia 2018? Well that is not certain... for now even.. based on progress.. he is not in the picture but if a miracle fast recovery occurs then we could have a comeback on our hands... but speaking realistically and based on certain parameters... Ikeme is hardly in the picture for Russia.

So that leaves us with just Enyeama.... so your question could be who will be second and third choice? wink

Rohr's call man... not mine. Really don't want to be in his position. I got stuffs I already handle... lol

I mean, tomorrow's game is important but not as important as the Zambia game especially if Zambia were to beat Algeria tomorrow.

From our last game...
Some observation on individual lapses of some of our players.

EZENWA: he was rarely tested. But will want him to be a bit outspoken and control his territory.

SHEHU: he lacks the confidence to cross.

ECHIEJILE: lacks confidence too, poor positioning and decision making.

NDIDI: Lacks pass accuracy and gives away possession easily.

VICTOR MOSES & SIMON MOSES: Slow in decision makings.

IHEANACHO: That boy needs a special trainer to work on his right foot. Can't use his right foot.

I hope Rohr and his video analyst must have dissected our last match and informed the players on necessary corrections.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that he is left biased it's almost like his right foot is crippled.

He is young it is not that hard with diligence and focus to improve. What singles out top players is dedication the quest to improve.

To be a complete striker he needs to work on his right foot.

Musa play to trouble the defenders with caution alongside Simon.

If Ighalo can't make it then I would like to see Nwakeme. KC does not have the ability to bully the Cameroon defence. It's just the plain reality.

This game needs a strong point man a true No.9 to unsettle thier CB's.

Yep... even with the €180 million Mbappe.... given so much unnecessary hype on this thread... wink

Mbappe I Love... Mbappe I admire and know he will grow to be among the best someday but he is not alone in that class... He got The likes of Ousmane Dembele, Kelechi Iheanacho, Gabby Jesus, Marco Asensio, Leroy Sane, Ndidi Wilfred, Donnarumma etc who will all rise and grow into super stars too in their own rights...

This was Luxembourg of all teams... and I checked that lineup... they had Vincent Thill (their youngest star) who scored against Us in that Friendly in Luxembourg's home. We beat Luxembourg 3-1.

But Yeah this was a competitive game... a WCQ... but France were at home and more than expected to trounce Luxembourg with their stardust quality... but I am shocked at the way things panned out. 8 shots on target I think and Nothing to show...

Mbappe is now 1 goal in Six games for France. I was hoping he would add to his tally but Luxembourg ehn..... very frustrating team. Anyway.. a lesson to take away in football.

Super Eagles newly inducted team member,Ola Aina has been named in the English Championship team of the month of August.

Temitayo Olufisayo Olaoluwa Aina who's playing for Hull city on a season long loan from Chelsea has made the Championship team of the week three times out of five weeks in the English second tier this term.

Popular website whoscored.com released the names of players in a 4-4-2 formation with the former English youth international operating as right back.

Aina was announced to have been cleared to play for Nigeria by the Nigeria Football Federation on Sunday and he's expected to be in the matchday squad to face the indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Monday

Ighalo has confirmed that he was taken off the pitch as a precautionary measure not to aggreviate the knock on his hamstring.

He is likely to lead the attack tomorrow but if he doesn't, I will prefer Anthony Nwakaeme to take his place.
