We started with 6 members, now we're here! How far teamies? Please supply us with lo's gender if you've found out. As for me, scan so far haven't shown, and dh said till October before another scan.

Have we started feeling the braxton hicks yet? I think I have, but not very regularly yet. But the kicks and tumblings are so much a times I feel lo wants to jump out!

And Chai! I discovered stretch marks on my tummy!! I used to be happy, thinking there was no stretch marks o, until one day... And dh had been seeing it all the while o, yet he never told me I accused him and he said he thought it was a normal phase. Biko, what can I use to remove them oo Abi they will go on their own after delivery? I rubbed Shea butter on it, but I don't know if it's effective. Chai! Motherhood is bae. Dh said I should leave it, so that it will not disturb his child

I've had three, all done by the same surgeon and each felt different. But with all of them, I had to get out of bed the morning after surgery (hospital policy, to help me heal) and that wasn't fun, but it was beneficial. Moving from the bed to a chair just beside the bed felt like building a rocket from scratch. It was a lot of work. The most annoying part was that I was told to get back on the bed and rest again within a few minutes (precisely how long it takes to change bed sheets).

Breastfeeding wasn't fun because of the pain in my uterus, but that only hurt me on the first three days. Still, I couldn't resist nursing my babies and wincing until I couldn't stand it anymore. Being on constant pain killers helped a lot, as I was told not to endure it but ask for medication.

But in all, I could walk unassisted within three days and felt no pain at all by the fourth, so the little stress the nurses gave me helped a lot. I've never had trouble with the site even though the same spot has been cut thrice.

This time I'm using another hospital and automatically another doctor and I pray it goes as well as it always has for me.

Go over to the newborn thread, you have expired here . About the question. I think it's normal. She's just 6 weeks old and her airways are still not clear. She probably breathes more excitedly when she's breastfeeding that's what makes it so obvious. At night make sure she stays warm cuz the breathing sounds worse when they are cold. It's nothing to worry about, all newborns breathe like that.

Mama Pele you hear? Not to scare you but Actually I doubt if there is anything you can do about excess saliva sad

it was the issue of excess saliva that made me discover this thread from Google. I tried everything suggested but none worked. It was annoying because I never experienced it in my last pregnancy. However, the excess saliva stopped at about 14 wks all by itself. Meanwhile, I know someone who was spitting even till 2 weeks after delivery. So I pray yours will leave you soon. It's annoying really. It is well with you.

PS: This is another world. God bless all the Mamas that has contributed in this thread right from page 1- this present page. I never knew a thread like this existed till Jan/Feb this year ~~After over 10 years on Nairaland~~ sad

@prestigiouslady, welcome to the fold, supply your EDD and your team will locate you soonest. The brownish spot might be old blood finding its way out or implantation bleeding. It should reduce and stop 8f it isn't more serious than this. I spotted in my early first trimester too. You need to rest, as in really rest and take things easy. Your body is no longer the same, it's going through a new phase entirely. So reduce your work load, leave house chores, enjoy your bed and put your feet up, rest very well, eat well too so you won't be weak and go to the hospital as soon as you can. You will carry to term. Amen. For the breasts, it's part of the package o. It will get better as you progress.

@booqee, I don't really have experience with the saliva ish. Just hang in there. One day at a time. You will be fine. Pele. I read your diary and I really feel like for you. My Dh is not around now too and I know how lonely it gets atimes. As one mama suggested, just try to keep yourself busy with favorite hobbies. It is well with you kiss

and so it seems to you that everyone else is silent. Try to be more frequent, Peep in more often, welcome new mamas, congratulate mamas who have offloaded etc. It mustn't be everyday, just as often as you can kiss

I purged seriously when I juiced it with peak condensed milk, as in serious purging that took me to the hospital. I don't know if that was the cause or something else but I strongly suspect it. Since that time, I have bought it and eaten it like that twice and I didn't react to it. So my dear, I will advice you move with caution. Thankchu .

I'm not sure why. Maybe because that spot (the bikini line) is the preferred one, since they only need two incisions to get to the baby and they aren't bothering your other organs.

I guess the pain relief and antibiotic given to u was top graded. Unlike our hospitals (government-military) dt must chop profit n give patients the lowest grade. It was later I learnt from doctors that r my friends abt d wayoness of our hospitals. Kai, the CS pains after surgery wasn't funny then walai.

This is quite surprising, i was able to walk around the next day with both fa, and i did mine in a govt hospital. I was told by the nurses that the earlier you walk around the faster the pain disappears, i don't know if that helped me, but i was okay after 1 week. Also maybe its individual differences, bodies differ so healing is different.

I think you are suppose to time the minutes in between the contractions. That's the end of one contraction to the start of the next contraction.

That tramadol thing... I had severe pains in my first trimester and I asked the gynae to prescribe something other than pcm for me. He said tramadol, but that it was risky for 1st trim. I couldn't take the risk so I had to endure the pains. But someone told me she took it in her second trim and nothing went wrong.
