F/A-18E/F Block III upgrades

Boeing has offered to build its twin-engine Super Hornet fighter aircraft in India if selected to meet Indian armed forces requirements.
In comments to Jane’s on 6 September, Dan Gillian, vice-president of Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s F/A-18 and E/A-18 programmes, confirmed that the US corporation is positioning the F/A-18E/F Block III Super Hornet to meet requirements in the Indian Navy (IN) and Indian Air Force (IAF).
The IN requirement for Multi-Role Carrier Borne Fighters (MRCBFs) is supported by a global request for information (RFI) issued in January 2017.
Incidentally the US Navy has also been offered the new Block III Superhornet which had earlier okayed the upgrades over the existing Block II. Tbe upgrades mainly focused on better network integratation through TTNT( Tactical Targeting Network Technology) and stealth.
The upgrades Included in Block 3 the Raytheon AN/APG-79 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, an Enclosed Weapon Pod (EWP) for stealth, an Elbit Systems large area display (LAD) ‘glass’ cockpit and next-generation avionics; an infrared search and track (IRST); ‘shoulder-mounted’ conformal fuel tanks (CFTs); Integrated Defensive Electronic Counter Measures (IDECM); and new General Electric F-414-400 enhanced engines.

HOW HEZBOLLAH DEFEATED ISRAELIS IN LEBANON 2006

Most people here are Israeli fanboys, unknowingly enabling the depradations of the 'Chosen people,' feeding into their delusions. Everyone boosts the Sayeret Metkal,Golani brigade etc etc so fervently they're unwitting propagandists of Caucanderthal pathological tendencies. Tbh,the IDF looks good since they never fight properly trained and equipped troops, never suffer logistical issues fighting only an hour away from bases and crucially perpetual access to a river of high tech warfighting supplies from the US.

Anyway in 2006 Israel,as usual ,ever terrified of Iranian influence in the region decided to attack Hezbollah, strongly supported by Syria. Firstly they were misdirected by Russian intel and their own hubris kicking off an invasion allegedly after Hezbollah kidnapped 2 IDF guys. (Impossible! The truth is they regularly leave pos to rape Arab girls.)
The abductions were, in fact, all too easy: Israeli soldiers near the border apparently violated standing operational procedures, left their vehicles in sight of Hezbollah emplacements, and did so while out of contact with higher-echelon commanders and while out of sight of covering fire.
http://www.conflictsforum.org/2006/how-hezbollah-defeated-israel/

Between mid July and the mid August cease fire the combat operational tempo resembled a full scale conventional war between 2 nations,as Israel held nothing back.

The conflict killed over six thousand people, most of whom were Lebanese, severely damaged Lebanese infrastructure, displaced 700,000-915,000 Lebanese, and 300,000-500,000 Israelis, and disrupted normal life across all of Lebanon and northern Israel. Even after the ceasefire, much of Southern Lebanon remained uninhabitable due to unexploded cluster bombs. As of 1 December 2006, an estimated 200,000 Lebanese remained internally displaced or refugees

During the campaign Israel's Air Force flew more than 12,000 combat missions, its Navy fired 2,500 shells, and its Army fired over 100,000 shells. Large parts of the Lebanese civilian infrastructure were destroyed, including 400 miles of roads, 73 bridges, and 31 other targets such as Beirut International Airport, ports, water and sewage treatment plants, electrical facilities, 25 fuel stations, 900 commercial structures, up to 350 schools and two hospitals, and 15,000 homes. Some 130,000 more homes were damaged.

http://www.axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/Article_24264.shtml

Hezb had prepped for years! They had a series of dummy and real bunkers with interlocking fields of fire on expected approaches with ample supplies of Iranian kornet ATGMs.

Hezbollah’s robust and hardened defenses were the result of six years of diligent work, beginning with the Israeli withdrawal from the region in 2000. Many of the command bunkers designed and built by Hezbollah engineers were fortified, and a few were even air-conditioned.
http://www.conflictsforum.org/2006/how-hezbollah-defeated-israel/

The initial attack on Hezbollah’s marshaling points and major bunker complexes, which took place in the first 72 hours of the war, failed. On July 15, the IAF targeted Hezbollah’s leadership in Beirut. This attack also failed. At no point during the war was any major Hezbollah political figure killed, despite Israel’s constant insistence that the organization’s senior leadership had suffered losses.

.....
Hezbollah’s ability to enforce discipline on its field commanders came as a distinctly unwanted shock to IDF senior commanders, who concluded that Hezbollah’s communication’s capabilities had survived Israel’s air onslaught, that the Hezbollah leadership was in touch with its commanders on the ground, and that those commanders were able to maintain a robust communications network despite Israeli interdiction.

....
Hezbollah intelligence officials had perfected their signals-intelligence capability to such an extent that they could intercept Israeli ground communications between Israeli military commanders. Israel, which depended on a highly sophisticated set of “frequency hopping” techniques that would allow their commanders to communicate with one another, underestimated Hezbollah’s ability to master counter-signals technology
.

Olmert and the security cabinet violated the first principle of war – they showed contempt for their enemy....Israel lost the war in the first three days,” one US military expert said. “If you have that kind of surprise and you have that kind of firepower, you had better win. Otherwise, you’re in for the long haul.”

Interestingly Hezb was able to badly damage an INS SAAR 5 corvette with a Chinese C 802 CORVETTE killing 20+ sailors. Realising they were facing defeat or the first time ever the Israelis went mad.

But when Israel sent in its elite Golani Infantry Brigade to secure the town before dawn on Wednesday, hundreds of soldiers were quickly pinned down by a Hezbollah ambush. Eight soldiers were killed almost immediately, and it took until early afternoon to move the dead and wounded two miles under heavy fire to a safe spot where they were picked up by helicopter and flown to a hospital in Haifa.[/b

OOps! Later!

The 'elite' Golani Brigade was sent into a known Hezb stronghold,Bint Jubail. Original 'net stories ,long since erased had Golani guys hysterically screaming on the radio for support, amidst the sound of gunfire and grenades exploding.

'This isn't like the war we fight in the territories [the West Bank and Gaza],' said another senior officer. 'This is a real war.'

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2006/jul/30/syria.israel1

Sergeant Evyatar Dahan, shot through the shoulder, managed to kick away a live grenade seconds before it exploded but watched as his company commander was killed. 'It was terrible: the shooting went on and on and there was screaming from all directions,' the young infantryman recalled afterwards. 'We were like sitting ducks,' said another soldier.

This reverse led to serious soul searching. It was realised years of killing poorly armed or unarmed Palestinians had corrupted the IDF warfighting capability. Foreign military pros, who'd long awaited a battle field setback for what they secretly regarded as a highly overrated force were thrilled! Their observations and writeups of the Lebanon 2006 war are worth a read.

Alas! It seems the belligerents still haven't learned a thing:they're actually planning a new war!! Yes,the head of the asylum,Netanyahu has threatened a fresh invasion.

‘Precision-guided missile factories” are being built in Lebanon and Syria, and unless the UN stops them, Israel will.

That, more or less, was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s message to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Jerusalem on Monday.

If it does happen, expect action during the next important Jewish holidays,Yom Kippur,Day of Atonement at end month which may be early to prepare. Hanukkah, festival of lights, mid Dec is more likely. At the outside,Purim, early March, the celebration of Esther's slaughter of Babylonian babies during their captivity is possible.

the one who has the stronger economy/industry to back the military will have good chances to win , provided the P5 dont interfere.

well i always wanted the Argentinians to win against the brits grin

the args were ill prepared for the war , IMO it looks as if it was an impulsive decision

one thing that stood out was the skill of their pilots , if they had more platforms and capable weapons backed by sound strategy they would have sent the brits packing

anyways what made u go diving into the topic of chile/arg war ?
grin grin grin

to me latin america feels like another planet grin

In the 80s my school had a pair of Chilean bros while their parents both taught. One of the kids was named Karl and the younger nigga was Karl-Marx!! Yes,his parents named him that. I checked out his fb recently linked from the school website. A prominent Chilean doctor served in Nakuru for 20 yrs til he returned in the mid 90s. I found the hidden Chilean aspect of the whole Falklands war interesting.
Isn't it?

Hezbollah did not defeat Israel.
Israel was sucked into an urban conflict against Iranian Special forces/Qud Force/Hezbollah et.c . Israel actually entered as much as 50% of Lebanon with air, commando strikes et.c.
The big mistake was using Merkava tanks. All in all, it was a slight victory for Israel and for Hezbollah a draw was a win. So you can read things from there

i really want this system to be operationalized.

in the fog of war, a high paced dynamic armor battle will have significant numbers of blue on blue kills , this system can eliminate it to almost zero.

only modification i want is that the interrogator and transponder be made conformal in design
