He attacked the Oyo Empire, he was defeated. When he came back to Illorin he was killed by the Fulanis.
They have been using this technique since then against the Yoruba People. Even Tanko Yakassai tried to use it recently but obviously Yoruba are now wiser.

THE MIDDLE BELT.
The Middle Belt are the Worst Hit. From Jos to Kwara to Benue to Kogi.

Their allegiance isn't to Odua but to Sokoto and this is the major division I have been preaching here for over 4yrs now.

If you doubt this, then ask why Osun state (a majority Muslim state) has been consistently voting for northerners?

In 2011, they went against the general political tide in Yoruba land and voted for Ribadu a northerner.

They have also consistently been voting for Buhari candidacy with the latter garnering significant votes up till 2015!
