My people.

I want to thank you all for this forum. I have learnt a lot from reading comments and experiences here on nairaland.com, expatforum and some whatsapp groups (mainly Indian groups).

The process was tough but ultimately sweet

At first, I had problems getting my transcripts. Wasted about 4 months on this.

Then I had to battle PTE. I did that 4 or was it 5 times now...anyways I never made the 20pts score.

Then I evaluated with ACS. That took about 3 months only to have my experience cut down by 4 years. With all these I was left with 55 pts to apply as a Network Engineer.

Well a friend later advised that I go with Engineering Australia(EA), for this I had to sit for IELTS, as PTE was not accepted by EA then. EA took another 3-4 months and eventually gave me the desdired Professional Engineer qualification. With this, I applied for the PR in May. There was no response after my aplications for 2 months until I got an Immi Assessment Commence notification Email in July, which essentially means that my application was now being assessed. No additional documents was ever requested by DIBP all through this process.

So this morning I was going through my mail when 3 freshly minted golden mails just started dropping in my inbox one by one. Alas I have been granted my long awaited PR along with my family. I was over the moon when the reality dawned on me.

I must say its been a wonderful experience rolling with this thread. There are amazing people here from Chief Bellong to Jamson, to Bnimz, Mctowel, Mamajaz, Alphadoor, etc etc etc.... Thank you all. Next stop is Melbourne who knows maybe Sydney!

To the ones still in the process. One thing I know for sure is that You will get it. Just research well and follow the process. I wish you the best.

What was the point and IELTS score with which you lodged your application?

Hi all, congratulations to those who recently got their Visa's. I wish you guys speedy transition into the land of Oz, where good fortunes lie in wait. I want to encourage most you in healthcare and IT and most especially the (Civil/environmental/chemical/Electrical engineers and building professionals) that you are stepping into an infrastructure boom and a heating job market. I strongly encourage you guys to Leverage this environment however you can by applying common sense so you can integrate as soon as possible while such opportunities still persist. Please avoid getting here and focusing solely on non skilled roles, with the mindset that as time goes on you will have settled and then afterwards pursue your intended job. My point is the transition is very much feasible with appropriate due diligence. besides your chances grossly improve when you have genuine experience. For those without experience, Remixing lyrics or better still doing a part time internship while also working will help avoid back breaking hussle for too long. In summary, please remain encouraged because several NIGERIAN professionals have come through this process and are doing exceptionally well. I also believe you ought to commit your steps to God and also remain very dogged and resolute in your decision making process, to avoid making mistakes that can set you back from your intended goals.
The future is bright to all who can see the dawning of a new era in their lives.

your best bet is for your husband to be primary applicant "he has the experience & Degree advantage" as mentioned by bellong
He should access as a software application and programmer 2613.
based on ACS rules, depending on his transcript content, 2/4/6 yrs maybe required to cling a positive assessment. I will go ahead and predict 4yrs will be deducted. its a good thing he has over 4yrs.

Currently 65pts is good for 2613 and it has a very high quota of 6202 slots this year.

Ed:15
Exp:0
Partner point: 5
Eng: 10 or 20(preferred)

60 or 65 or 70 depending on the combinations

For partner point : ACS will require 4yrs for B.tech com engineering and you currently have 3yrs but i think you can also go with EA * for assessment, pass PTE (50) / IELTS (6) at competent level.

Yes i think you can . But whatever english test you use for EOI must be consistent with what you use for PR VISA lodgement.

Hello, please i really need some advice on EA skilled employment documents requirement. i have gathered my documents such as employment letters and pay slip but am told i have to include an income tax report but my employer doesn't have that available. Can i just do a personal income tax [PIT] instead of PAYE [through employer] ?
